I got my eyes on this series a month before it aired. Well, who wouldn't? Just by seeing the title, I was eagerly waiting to watch it. But now I guess, the series wasn't that complicated compared to it's title. Miki was even lucky to have the guy acknowledged the baby and have her parents stand by her decisions. But usually, now a days, it doesn't just go like that. I guess, reality is still harsh. Even the school.. I doubt that they will do something like that in real life. The song of Mr. Children really complimented the atmosphere of the entire series. |

I really loved it! I'm so rooting for Mei and A-kun, they really are meant for each other. Both leads are so young and yet they've already been experiencing a lot about the downside of life most especially Mei (which only started in episode 4), although it didn't really directly happened to them. It was a little bit dark at first but it gets better after every episode. Somehow you become curious and interested as to why Yui died and why she made such a group. I was looking forward as to what case they will be solving in the next episode. Daruma is definitely the one providing the big laughs here with his different cosplay in each episode. |

But I must say that the hobby of those two old men were really just freaking weird, I wonder what would�fve happened if their loved ones found out about it? |

There�fs so many emotions you can feel just by watching it: pity of course is one, sorrow, disliking, grief, amusement, disgust and most of all relief after seeing the ending. It was really entertaining, easy going and although the story was pretty cliche and somewhat cheesy it didn't stop me from watching it. The highlight of the series for me was the interrogation scenes and their play-acting, that scene on episode 1 triggered my interest and curiosity for the next episodes. The idea of having different types of people work together is nothing new but having a boss like Osawa Eriko who is an excellent detective to command them and has many tricks up on her sleeves really stole the show not to mention Takenouchi Yutaka�fs weird character. The many twists and turn of events makes this series fun and at the same time hilarious, and I must say that the ending really did surprised me though I was hoping that it would eventually turn out that way because I don't want to hate *that character*. | BOSS Season 2

I was distracted by another series while I was still watching this, so I didn�ft enjoyed it as much as I want to. Although, this was definitely my most anticipated series for Summer 09. Naoki, especially on the first part, had less impact on me, so Riko definitely stole the show together with Mai and then followed by Shuji then Kawasaki and Utsunomiya. I don�ft know, it�fs just that Naoki�fs character was just plain boring that it affected my interest for this series. But the love story was okay, reminds me of Long Vacation. | Byakuyakou [白夜行]

I was empress as to how they made Asakura�fs character, he was not just a puppet prime minister but he really did his best in being one. A typical medical / human drama. The main plot is about 4 trainees being trained to become flight doctors. The subplots consists of their patients conditions/stories, colleagues�f life and their pasts and of course the trainees�f lives and dreams. I gues the only difference compared to other medical dramas is the �gDoctor Heli System�h. Otousan or should I say Papa is so nice here, always singing, smiling and reminiscing his experiences with Mama plus being the �gstay-at-home-dad�h. And, instead of him being feared by the children, now it�fs the mother. He�fs the one doing the begging and stuff so Mama will forgive the faults and mistakes of their children. I had a nice time watching this especially when Pinko-san showed up. I'm really a sucker when it comes to family dramas. |

I thought that this will be a dark drama but the atmosphere wasn�ft that dark at all. I've been just deceived by the black screen at the start of each episode. The first episode was interesting especially when they did that experiment as to how the suspect did the crime, skipped ep2 was more like an episode of Trick, ep3-8 was also good, ep9-10, I thought that the crime would even be harder to decode but it wasn�ft. Not again. Why did they made another season of this? It�fs more like the writer just rewritten the entire season 1 and a little bit from season 2. They could�fve used other situations from the manga which wasn�ft used in season 1. Well anyway, compared to season 2, I think I prefer this one since there were more funny scenes of Yankumi & her family plus Kuma is now married to the girl he liked in season 1 and additional laughs from Kyoto & Baba-sensei. As for Class 3D, this season is probably the worst in terms of acting, Miura and Ishiguro are the only ones tolerable. A very poor acting coming from Takaki Yuya, he should've not imitated Jin's acting in the first place. |

I really felt that the presence of Shima, portrayed by Konishi, was the one missing in this series which was more like a mother-like figure. And so, I felt like Nanami lost a mother and Enzo gained another sister. |

I also liked Shiki's relationship with his Dad, I cried in their scene by the river. Plus the mealtime scenes of Shiki's family and friends. It wasn't that draggy until the last few eps. I was just glad that the ending wasn't a cliff hanger. |

Additional point for the humor, which will be pretty much appreciated if you really understand Japanese. All in all it was a funny and interesting series eventhough you might already know the suspect the moment the case is being introduced. Regardless of its below 10 average rating, this is definitely the series I enjoyed in Summer 09. Honestly, I rarely watch May-December affairs but this was an exception. Probably because the pairing of Nakayama and Kato clicked for me, they were so cute together. As for the ending, it was really inevitable but good thing they didn't end up like Romeo and Juliet. Although it was still sad, having another person besides Makoto who remembers him was a bonus. And I must say that the story is a shojo manga material. Plus, I also liked that certain sad bgm which was played throughout the series. |

This series was shown in 2002 and I�fve watched it in 2006. Look how most of the cast has already starred in their own dramas and already made it big since then. I�fm so happy that I�fve got to watch it. It�fs funny, heartwarming and most of all the food looks so delicious. I was really looking forward to the next dish that they will feature. I can�ft help but compare it to Hana Kimi. This has a more solid story but it was less entertaining and less funnier although it also has some funny moments, it just not cracks me up as Hana Kimi. The storyline was a typical manga/anime story with characters so familiar to me. But I must say that this has more hint of romance going on between the two leads. I'm a fan of the anime series so of course I'll watch the this one. Much to my disappointment. I like both Oguri and Tomokawa for their respective roles especially Jinnai Takanori who really fit the role of Mori Kogore. But the only letdown was the case. It was so plain and simple. I easily spotted the killer the moment it appeared.
2nd Special: I give it a 9. This is much more exciting and interesting than the first one. But the only disappointment would be the child portraying Conan. Wasnt there anyone else to play this role? |

TV Asahi somehow amazes me with their brand of mystery comedy just like Trick. This is definitely a nice series although at first I felt that Kitagawa Keiko�fs acting was a little off especially on the crying scenes but I got used to it and she and Tanihara Shosuke had a nice chemistry together. One is a muscle maniac, the other is a foreigner manic, what a weird combination, really! My favorite episodes would episode 9 and 5 but special mention to episode 7 since I was surprise of its ending. |

This series, although original, reminds me of Galileo and SP (for the last 2 episodes). The highlight of the show for me was Nakama Yukie and Gackt�fs episodes respectively. Although if rank accordingly would be: the most interesting is by Nakama Yukie, second would be Gackt then third would be Sato Takeru, then the last 2 episodes tied with the first one and lastly, Kame�fs episode because there is no need for a scientist to figure that one out, a detective would do. Although this was a fun series, I can't helped but notice the poor acting performances from the main characters especially from Kimura, Kagawa and Mizushima. |

Ironically, in this series the Yakuza's, which are known to have been abandoned or have lost their parents from an early age, are sent to train in an institution for the elderly where the grandpa's and grandma's there are also abandoned by their own children. Some episodes can really make you emotional, special mention to episode 9. As for the ending, I had a feeling it would end that way since most occupational jdramas do, but the leadership position came in as a surprise. This is one of those live-action series which is definitely a must see. You will definitely love the tandem of Ueno Juri and Tamaki Hiroshi. Ueno is very funny and lovable as Nodame. As for Chiaki, it�fs been a while since I�fve watched Tamaki in a comedy, or should I say, done a comedy since �gWaterboys: The Movie�h but he�fs still as funny as ever. Added laughs from Eita & Kaede Kosuke (both from Waterboys Season 1&2 respectively). And you will definitely be mesmerized by the musical pieces that they feature every episode. |

Still, Rei also got some issues of her own so you can't blame her for that. And the thing that I really like in this series was the friendship among the 5 of them. From the creators of Trick, I have a feeling that this could have the fourth season but due to some reasons it didn't pushed through and so Puzzle was born. From the subplots itself and Ayukawa's nature of being greedy, it was definitely a clone of Trick and the way they relieve how the crime took place reminds me of Mop Girl. It was fun and entertaining but their treasure hunting always ends up to nothing and they accidentally get involved in murder cases. A younger version of Trick although the original is still the best. |

This series focuses on a suspended baseball team and a teacher(not really a coach) helps them to play again to achieve their dream of going to Koshien and their struggles along the way. It doesn't have the 'teacher saves all' format at the end of each episodes but it has the 'teacher wins their trust' theme and it has more reality/drama in it. Acting wise - Koide, Takaoka, Nakao(ep1), Kawamura(towards the end) & Kiritani(for comic relief) did a good job. I wasn't really convince with Hayato's acting and as for Sato Ryuta, a little bit of improvement is needed. I didn't like the ending theme at first but I guess it just grows on you after 11 episodes. On the side note about the 2007 Special, it was nice to see again the pairing of Narumi Riko and Kamiki Ryunosuke after their short love story in Wedding Planner (2002). Look how both they�fve grown! |

Honestly, I thought that this would be a dark drama just like Byakuyako, since both has the same writer, but then, why they asked Kudo Kankuro to do the screenplay? It really made no sense, so when their swindling adventures began, that�fs when I realized, that is Kudo�fs specialty.
At first, I was pretty much interested on their swindling adventures rather than the main plot but it shifted halfway through. But still, it was their swindling escapade that made me really hooked on this series.
As for the culprit, he was the first person I suspected, so it really came as a surprise when I learned that I was right all along. But what a lame excuse for committing such a crime, 2 lives were lost because of that. | Saiyuuki [西遊記 ]

This was definitely my favorite drama for summer�f08. It was really entertaining and funny though at first I thought it would be the weakest of the series�f I�fve watched for this summer. It was nice to see Shida Mirai do a comedy and act as a normal student, away from her image in 14sai no Haha. And as for Yamada Yu�fs character, I must admit that I was never fond of Makiko but I kinda started to laugh at her in episode 9 towards the end and besides I would not have enjoyed this series if it weren�ft for her torturing everyone especially Yoko. Others may be a little bit disappointed of its ending because it still favored Makiko but I was pretty much okay with it. I guess the only thing that sets this apart from other school dramas is the fact that the *entire class* had experienced a terrible incident before the story took place which prevents them from not opening-up and trusting adults ever again. And so, after things settled down, it all comes down to a certain student which has the biggest grudge because of the things experienced since childhood. Oh well... Jun's acting was so disappointing it ruined the drama for me, he's really not good in crying scenes, he just can't cry when he's supposed to, I mean he can't cry at all. While on the other hand, I was impressed with Nakai Kiichi's performance, he was an effective lawyer. |

I must say that I�fm impressed with the fight scenes, well choreographed compared to the other dramas I�fve watched so far. This was really passable especially if you�fve seen the movie. The movie was short and sweet and it really focused on Amane Kaoru�fs life while the drama was just partly of that because aside from the guy being the lead, they added many other characters such as Asami who is a recording artist whom Kaoru admires and has a past with Koji. Although forming a band was nice and Kaoru also has good songs in here plus the Power Ranger scenes were cute, the ending really ruined it all. The ending in the movie was better although it was also sad, it was still nicely done compared to this. |

About the fated reunion, since it's father and son, and not the usual father and daughter or mother and son, their reuniting scene was not too emotional. I was not really surprise. Master's misunderstandings of Taku was already answered as the episodes went on so it was not that hard for him when they finally saw each other. Although there were a lot of over the top acting and gang themed scenes, both NTV's forte, this drama was so entertaining and cute, especially the delusional scenes of Yasuko and Erika about Jun and Kenji. I also find Kenji and his gang so funny when they're doing their manga or just being together, it probably reminded me of Gokusen because of Mosu. By the way, Tabe Mikako's character also reminded me of her character in Yamada Taro Monogatari. Overall, I give it a 7.5. Their acting may seem lame or exaggerated at first but once you get used to it then you become interested. For me, it was around episode 8 that I really started to like this series. Kaga Takeshi was really hilarious on that episode. I guess, patience is a virtue, you just got to have the hang of it, so you can finish the entire series. But I must say that the story gets better after each episode (except ep5) and it was ended nicely.
