| 1. | Yoshitaka Yuriko's Big Stink [Rating: 5/10] Poor writing ran this drama into the ground, despite its strong cast (with one exception)! Good comedy, but unfortunately the same handful of cliche jokes were over-used and thus I just grew irritated by it. Oguri Shun and Mizushima Hiro had good chemistry together, but unfortunately their relationship as friends and partners was left underdeveloped. Last, but not least, Yoshitaka Yuriko STANK in this drama. Her acting, her role... This drama would have been better off without her. Overall this drama was extremely overrated. Lots of melodrama, cheap jokes, and cliches, but absolutely no substance whatsoever! | Reviewed by Susan on 31 December 2009 | 2. | Overrated [Rating: 7/10] This show wasn't bad, but I was quite disappointed. With all the hype I was really looking forward to it, but instead found that it had a very weak story-line that wasted 8 episodes worth of time. Aside from the final showdown between So and Jinno, I enjoyed the last two episodes.
I thought Oguri Shun was great. It was nice to see him in a different role. Mizushima Hiro was damn annoying and Yoshitaka Yuriko... well, she's lucky I was a fan of hers BEFORE this drama.
The show is redundant and boring and I was hoping for more. It's okay to watch one time through, but it's forgettable. Shame. | Reviewed by Wynter on 11 July 2010 | 3. | Decent Drama [Rating: 7/10] This drama was average. Weak story and really cliche cop show moments almost made this a bad drama. The cast really saved it. The two main characters are very likable and funny. Decent show if you watch it for the characters. There are many funny moments, but unfortunately the same jokes are used repeatedly. Not a bad drama. Just average. Enjoyable, but not nearly as enjoyable as it could have been. | Reviewed by spintendo on 15 January 2010 | 4. | worth a watch [Rating: 7/10] I wasn't expecting too much from this drama, but I found it pretty entertaining. I loved Hiro and Shun from long ago and I enjoyed watching their fights and disagreements and awkward moments. The pairing it similar to Rush Hours, but its still very funny and I definately enjoyed it. | Reviewed by yuki_yoru on 24 April 2010 | 5. | GOOD COMEDY [Rating: 8/10] Mizishima Hiro and Oguri Shun stars in this drama, very nice acting, as expected from both actors. The two of them has their moments, worth watching.... | Reviewed by arleneong912 on 8 January 2010 | 6. | Average dorama [Rating: 8/10] Average dorama but the chemistry between shun and hiro was very interesting. | Reviewed by ester_grace on 25 December 2010 | 7. | Average dorama [Rating: 8/10] Average dorama but the chemistry between shun and hiro was very interesting. | Reviewed by ester_grace on 25 December 2010 |

| 1. | Comments by Jeanxi [Rating: 6/10] Ah, what a disappointment. Based on the suspense built up from the first half of this drama, I thought this might turn out to be pretty good, but the ending was rather disappointing. I think the plot was fairly good up until maybe episode 8 or so, by which point it got more and more illogical but predictable at the same time. I seriously thought there would be a more interesting relationship between Jinno and Yuki as well as a some hidden reason to her losing her memory. Also, the relationship between the three leads just got weirder and weirder. I can feel the comradery and the friendship among them, but I totally don't see any actual "love" kind of chemistry between So and Yuki or Maruo and Yuki. Nonetheless, I thought Oguri Shun did a fairly good job at acting except for the overly melodramatic parts when Jinno is concerned, but that just might be because of the poor script. Mizushima and Yoshitaka's acting were not quite as good though, and the melodramatic script for their parts certainly didn't help. It's really too bad that the scriptwriters came up with such an anticlimatic and horrible ending/explanation for everything since I would've given this drama a higher rating for a nice balance between the comedy and the serious plotting. | 2. | Comments by pinkokoro [Rating: 7/10] Impression up till ep8; This is not a memorable drama. but while at it, it has been somehow enjoyable. I especially love the chemistry, interaction, random-conversation-at-crime-scene, etc between the two lead detective, Sou and Maruo. Though if in real life such behaviour is unwarranted, on screen they are precious. it definitely lighted up the screen for me. However I couldn't really take the random call by mother, and Sou's family-gathering well, it somehow annoyed me to an extent. I even see Oguri SHun in a different light now, I know that he can take different roles, that is evident in his different works in dramas and movies, he can take the mafia, the evil, the cool, and the good character and make it believable. this time around I see another role which is quite different from others he had taken before and again, it works. In fact I adore his style of realizing the character. Mizushima Hiro on the other hand needs to improve more. He can be a bit over the top at times, but can be interesting at other times. I've seen Yuriko in Love shuffle and was quite impressed by her in that, she is decent in this one but I won't say that she did excellent in this. This might be a forgettable drama, but please enjoy while you are at it :) | 3. | Comments by Swedish_Japan_Lover [Rating: 9/10] I do have to say that Oguri and Mizushima made an awesome couple acting together. I thought it was a typical japanese comedy drama which means its very alike to tons of other dramas. However I do quite enjoy these dramas where there always something new in every episode, like different stories or crimes combined with the original story. The same styled rapid jokes in every episode between the characters of Mizushima and Oguri was very funny as well, somehow I also like when jokes returns over and over throughout the series of course depending on what it is about. These jokes were so short compared to the length of the drama so it didn't drag the rating down. The drawback of these kind of dramas is that the original plot gets somewhat hidden and developing slow in comparison of the current plot in each episode. It makes the ending sudden and awkward though they saved it with some comedy in this one. Recommendable! | 4. | Comments by yourasthma [Rating: 6/10] this show made me realise shun oguri is a good actor, mizushima hiro is quite good looking and the female lead is a little bit whiny but still much more watchable than a lot of other japanese actresses. those were the good points. the show's not bad but it's not great either. the story is a bit predictable and mizushima hiro's wasted in his overacting role (i think he needs a skilful director) and the fight scenes... well they're obviously choreographed to say the least. it's rather unfortunate that whilst some scenes were genuinely funny, they were far apart and there were too many unfunny scenes in between. yuriko did play a funny drunk even if it was like for 3 seconds. potentially much better but still entertaining enough for me to give it a generous '6'. | 5. | Comments by Susan [Rating: 5/10] Poor writing ran this drama into the ground, despite its strong cast (with one exception)! The plot was a little crappy crappy but the cool characters really made it much more enjoyable. ItLs not a great dorama, but itLs pretty good for a Sunday afternoon. | 7. | Comments by Eyeyore [Rating: 7/10] It's a comedy, I think. Every quirky individual in the police team has a joke to tell. Thankfully, the jokes were funny. Ignore all those scenes when Oguri-kun returns to his pretty mum. Those were the most irrelevant and worst acting I have ever encountered. Ignore the criminal cases (except for the last case)....and what are we left with? Nakamura Toru, the most mesmerizing yakuza boss who stole the show; Oguri Shun, the cowboy who shoots everyone anywhere; Mizushima Hiro, the Johnny Depp look-alike. The casting is fabulous, but the two main leads were boring. | 8. | Comments by outlaws0025 [Rating: 8/10] Really awesome police dorama! The story is good and exiting the whole time and the acting is superb. Oguri Shun is great as the serious elite cop
and Mizushima Hiro is so~ hilarious. I laughed out loud so many time in this dorama.
Although it could get a bit melodramatic at times...
One more thing - the best dorama fight scenes ever! It looked great and it's not like they changed camera every second to make it look like they really hit each other. They tend to do that a lot in other movies and doramas which gets annoying for the viewers. | 9. | Comments by EstherM [Rating: 5/10] Tokyo Dogs made a lot of noise but had no substance. It made a lot of jokes too but it wasn't all that funny. Like Boss and Mr Brain it was a "hit" with audiences but I started to wonder about the Japanese audience - will they watch just anything as long it has the label mystery or cop show, despite the weakest scenarios one can possibly imagine. One big plus for Oguri fans. He looks absolutely amazing in Tokyo Dogs, but that can't save a drama. | 10. | Comments by tachan [Rating: 8/10] I really like Shun playing this type of "cool, level-headed" character. The female lead is cute too (she was in Love Shuffle). Hiro overacts a lot of the time, but I guess I kind of get that it's part of his character. The action is cheesy, but whatever. It's exciting, funny, and the little love story is cute. The ending (the one where the credits roll and they walk in the rain) is really pretty. EXILE's music fits really well. | 11. | Comments by nickylynn [Rating: 6/10] Although the storyline is weak, I found it entertaining. I liked Oguri, but Hiro's acting was bad. He did make me laugh though. I disliked the lead actress. She was terribly annoying. I just think it could have been much better. | 12. | Comments by Wynter [Rating: 7/10] I was disappointed in this drama. It wasn't bad, but it was redundant and boring. I enjoyed the last two episodes, but the showdown between So and Jinno, which the entire storyline was leading up to, was kinda lame... | 13. | Comments by strawberryfzz [Rating: 6/10] I really tried to like it because Oguri Shun makes one hot cop, but the script and storytelling just didn't deliver. Kind of a waste of good actors. I found Mizushima Hiro's acting loud, corny and annoying. | 14. | Comments by Oba-chan [Rating: 8/10] Not good enough, but still worth to watch drama if you like oguri n hiro.
The action was poor, i think i only like the joke between this two cops.
Soundtrack: Futatsu no Kuchibiru [EXILE]: 8 | 15. | Comments by Mabelka [Rating: 8/10] One of the best detective drama I've ever seen. Great chemistry between main characters, love their little quarrels. Lot of comedy parts till the very end, especially Sou's family. | 16. | Comments by oonqy [Rating: 8/10] Very average and plain drama plot. nothing exciting. But great casts and chemistry between Oguri Shun and Mizushima Hiro. That will be the main and greatest highlight. That is all. | 17. | Comments by nienna [Rating: 7/10] Both Oguri and Hiro are so so so cute and cool. They are the total opposite of each other but they cooperate so well. The ending was kinda dubious but I kinda anticipated it. | 18. | Comments by Gork [Rating: 8/10] not a bad police drama! loved oguri shun and mizushima hiro's endless bickering ^_^ by the end i wanted more!! ps. oguri looks HOT in this drama!! | 19. | Comments by shinjitsu [Rating: 6/10] Too predictable. Too cliche. Guess it's from a manga. Banter between the two main characters is fine but didn't live up to expectations. | 20. | Comments by sable_starr [Rating: 6/10] Objectively this is not a good drama. But I personally enjoyed it and it kept me entertained. Plus the OTP was cute and so much eye candy! | 21. | Comments by asako77 [Rating: 10/10] The banter between Shun's and Hiro's characters is so funny. Shun was so serious, it amused me, and Hiro was charmingly silly. Good show. | 22. | Comments by Chimar [Rating: 9/10] Mizushima had a really funny role and he looks really nice with his lil goatee. He should keep it all the time! Yoshitaka is sooooo cute!! | 23. | Comments by loveaomori [Rating: 9/10] Very good dorama! Some of my favorites areas of Tokyo appear in it special thanks for the shooting in golden gai the place to be in Tokyo. | 24. | Comments by in.the.cold.breeze. [Rating: 8/10] the concept was promising enough, but it fell flat, with thud, on its ass. thankfully shun and hiro had some good moments. mostly shun. | 25. | Comments by strawberrynkiwi [Rating: 8/10] Entertaining, I like Oguri Shun's haircut here :) I dislije Hiro's facial hair, but I loved his goofy acting. Awesome ending song too! | 26. | Comments by Lady Zhuge [Rating: 6/10] Started out as mildly entertaining, ended up predictable, lame and so not worth the ride. I'm giving it a very generous 6. | 27. | Comments by Jhvx [Rating: 10/10] Really liked this one, it's a police drama, good action and quite funny at all, among the best doramas for winter 2009 | 28. | Comments by krome [Rating: 2/10] This drama had some fun dialogue, but that wasn't near enough to save it from the poor acting and terrible storyline. | 29. | Comments by jetlagged [Rating: 7/10] Finally finished watch this drama. It was simply meh. nothing spectacular or worthy of remembering for a long time. | 30. | Comments by chibichan [Rating: 9/10] this dorama is really funny, i love the quarrel between Hiro and Oguri Shun, both of them are hillarious |
