Beautiful life [ビューティフルライフ] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) | CHANGE Rating: 8/10 (Watched) | Code Blue Season 2 [コード・ブルー 2] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) |
Densha Otoko [電車男] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) the real densha must be so proud of having spawned this - and this drama is everything it's hyped up to be. completely moving and nostalgic, but also exaggerated and funny and corny. it totally kills sunao ni narenakute or any other series that thinks it can capture the beauty of the human condition as it truly exists and unfolds in the online medium. shit, the finale had the best dramatic tension. beautiful. and kosuke toyohara is the best! | Engine [エンジン] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) | Gokusen [ごくせん] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) |
Gokusen Season 2 [ごくせん2] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) | Gokusen Season 3 [ごくせん 3] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) | Good Luck !! [グッドラック!!] Rating: 8/10 Started off really slow, but the chemistry between both main couples saved it. |
GTO [麻辣教師] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) | Hana Yori Dango [花より男子] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) | Hana Yori Dango Season 2 [花より男子] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) |
Hanazakari no Kimitachi e [花ざかりの君たちへ] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) | Hero Rating: 9/10 (Watched) | Ichi Ritoru no Namida [1リットルの涙] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) |
Kami no Shizuku [神の雫] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) This was a tough topic to try and relate to a wide audience, and the drama kind of failed at it. But for all it's claminess, with either iver-the-top or lackluster characters, and weirdly handeled concept, it still managed to elicit a few wow moments. | Kimi wa Petto [きみはペット] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) | Last Friends [ラスト・フレンズ] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) i appreciate this drama for venturing into a lot of sensitive youth-related issues. it wasn't played out as well as i'd hoped, a little too long and winding. but all in all, quite moving. juri ueno is amazing as ever. |
Long vacation [ロングバケーション] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) | Love generation [ラブジェネレーション] Rating: 8/10 | Maou [魔王] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) wow. this was good. i mean very repetetive and mostly predictable, but somehow the atmosphere carried over perfectly to the end. some great moments for the director of photography, and musical director. i guess i just wish they left more characters alive^^ worth the marathon. |
Mei-chan no Shitsuji [メイちゃんの執事] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) | MR. BRAIN Rating: 9/10 (Watched) | Nankyoku Tairiku ~Kami no Ryouiki ni Idomunda Otoko to Inu no Monogatari~ [南極大陸〜神の領域に挑んだ男と犬の物語〜] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) As usual, a little tooo much drama and repetition. BUT. The last episode brought the whole national pride issue out of the sappy background and into the spotlight, and rightly so. So that bumped this drama up to a 9 from an 8. And also. Really, that was a 0 chemistry and awkward all the way love story for me. BUT. Takuya Kimura just happends to have the uncanny ability to make any couple's last scene look so incredibly romantic. |
Nobuta wo Produce [野ブタ。をプロデュース] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) really appreciated yamapi here~ | Nodame Cantabile [のだめ カンタビ−レ] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) amazing series that showcased not only ueno juri's and the rest of the cast's excellent acting, but also put in a lot of good production time into producing classical music with a modern vibe. LOVE IT! | Orthros no Inu [オルトロスの犬] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) The concept of power play was drawn out very nicely, but the ending was too happy^^ |
PRICELESS ~Aru Wake Nedaro,n namon!~ [PRICELESS ~あるわけねぇだろ,んなもん!~] Rating: 7/10 | Pride [プライド] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) the best drama ever. great acting, great dialogue, and the best character development i've seen in a tv series so far. | Proposal Daisakusen [プロポーズ大作戦] Rating: 8/10 |
Ryusei no Kizuna [流星の絆] Rating: 8/10 | Shibatora [シバトラ] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) | Smile [スマイル] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) wow. this was better than i thought, even with all the hammy moments. i truly appreciate how it tackled discrimination and the flawed justice system as it exists in japan, without ending with a blatant call to hope and change. it was trying to do a lot... but somehow, it worked. loved the ending. beautiful <3 |
Sunao ni Narenakute [素直になれなくて] Rating: 8/10 tamayama tetsuji (linda)'s arc was the best. his acting too. jaejoong (dok-taa) started out weak in his acting, but was surprisingly good at the end. | Tokyo DOGS ~ Saiaku de Saiko no Partner [東京DOGS] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) the concept was promising enough, but it fell flat, with thud, on its ass. thankfully shun and hiro had some good moments. mostly shun. | Tsuki no Koibito [月の恋人] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) i don't know why the ending surprised me so much... i thought that as a whole the series wasn't too solid. maybe taku was too stiff in this one. and keiko's character was seriously completely useless. |
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge [ヤマトナデシコ七変化] Rating: 7/10 | Zettai Kareshi [絶対彼氏] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) | |
