Synopsis |
---|
Originally a mid-level manager with a promising future in a big corporation and loved by his subordinates, the life of Kindaichi Fumio changes dramatically one day. Having for some reason attracted the attention of the senior management, he is framed for a crime that he knows nothing of and is forced out of the workplace. Even after that, he is assailed by a series of surprises and in one day, he loses his house and wealth. At his wits end, he comes to a park where he encounters two children. Learning from them how to survive even if he does not have money, he somehow weathers this crisis and discovers the truly important and priceless things in life. The good thing about him is that his carefree personality amazingly does not shift. It is not resentment and bitterness that become his driving force, but the love and help of the people he meets that enables him to keep going forward step by step. | JDramas |

| 1. | Typical Kimutaku comedy [Rating: 9/10] Kimutaku seems to be doing 2 types of doramas recently: the serious historical dorama, and the light-hearted comedy where he plays the same cool-guy that we have learned to like.
Well this one falls in the second category, and is perfect from beginning to end: strong storyline, great supporting cast (liked Karina a lot in this one), good comedy, twists and all, and it keeps you going till the end.
If you liked "Mr. Brain", "Change", and others from Kimutaku, you will enjoy this one. | Reviewed by Jackykero on 15 June 2013 | 2. | What You'd Expect [Rating: 8/10] This was a great show. It was light, and well developed, and the chemistry between KimuTaku's, Karina's, and Nakai's characters were awesome. I also really liked seeing Fujiki in this type of role. The supporting cast were awesome (especially Natsuki Mari) and overall the breakdown of the story kept me entertained. | Reviewed by Wynter on 25 July 2013 | 3. | :O [Rating: 7/10] nice show in beginning.. but lost feeling in later episode.. | Reviewed by bb300 on 6 December 2012 |

Anyway, the plot here was good and it had really nice pacing and development. The problem is that it's also incredible bland, not quite boring, but it so completely just does not stand out in any way, that it doesn't do anything for me at all. The ending was a complete mess, and rushed, and full of so many silly drama cliches. Also there's supposed to be a romance here, but you won't even notice it at all, which is fine in and of itself, but then why bother even trying to put it in there? Again this isn't a terrible show at all, I would probably even consider it quite good, but overall I am not really interested in thinking about it long enough to even judge it. | 2. | Comments by sasukekun6 [Rating: 9/10] Another one of the best dramas of 2012 in my opinion. The characters are wonderful, the comedy is hilarious and it's a really great story. I must admit it's a very stereotypical Kimura Takuya role but he always plays that "guy" so well. I have to admit I think my favorite character was Nakai Kiichi's Moai. He was perfect in his role. I've never seen him in anything before and I hope after this drama he'll be getting more roles.
I'd recommend this to anyone, and especially to KimuTaku fans! | 3. | Comments by Jackykero [Rating: 9/10] Kimutaku seems to be doing 2 types of doramas recently: the serious historical dorama, and the light-hearted comedy where he plays the same cool-guy that we have learned to like.

I like the ending, where a two-sided love does actually not develop in favor of the friendship of the three main characters. The processs of Monozukuri is pictured way too simplistic, as the "boring parts" product lifetime, complaint management, regulations etc not covered here. Same does for the story itself, it is not that deep. But I like Kimutaku depicting the ideal personality. | 5. | Comments by RISAKO [Rating: 6/10] Started out promising , but around episode 6, lost interest... I was wondering why Kimura Takuya now in his 40's is playing a single non-career guy ? Then I started to look around there are lots of guys like that in the US, including women like myself...so ok it's could be probable in Japan, too. | 6. | Comments by zenith777 [Rating: 9/10] In the beginning, I feel like a bit bored, but after some few episodes, the plot and story become crystal clear even make more interesting with funny jokes. Superb acting from Takuya Kimura, Karina and Moai-san :D | 7. | Comments by gaijinmark [Rating: 8/10] Granted this is the character Kimtaku is always best at, but after "Mr. Brain" and "Moon Lovers" it was good to see him in something very good. Really liked Karina and Nakai as well as his partners. | 8. | Comments by Zorkaz [Rating: 1/10] One of the worst series, I've seen. The writers don't seem to make much effort in putting together a believeable storyline. Episode for episode there are more and more plotholes... | 9. | Comments by v1olet [Rating: 9/10] One of the best drama. I love the story line, the comedy, the twist and the ending. Highly recommended. Takuya Kimura, Karina and all the supporting actors are the best. | 10. | Comments by EstherM [Rating: 7/10] Good enough but doesn't deal really with the very real (and very ignored) issue of homelessness. As always I enjoy the the secondary actors more than Kimutaku. | 11. | Comments by nickylynn [Rating: 6/10] Kimura put heart in his performance, but the story was not at all believable...so much that I couldn't really enjoy it. A bit of a chore for me to finish. | 12. | Comments by Wynter [Rating: 8/10] This was a great show. Optimism to the end, but well watchable. Does get a bit boring at times. | 15. | Comments by SayaOtonashi [Rating: 6/10] Not bad, just similar to other KimuTaku doramas. Not memorable either... but enjoyable at the same time. | 16. | Comments by shinjitsu [Rating: 7/10] Wasn't great, wasn't bad, wasn't memorable.
