| The story revolves around a young woman named Mei, who was rescued as a young girl by someone calling himself her "butler." With only a vague memory, the experience seems like just a dream. However, one day, after her parents' accidental death, he reappears: Rihito comes from a line of outstanding butlers, and he has been appointed to serve her! Now her ordinary life has completely flipped, as she discovers that she's actually the heiress to a fortune, and is forced to transfer to St. Lucia Girls' Academy, where all the students have butlers! At this day and age, super rich girl's private school where every student has an ikemen butler sounds like a fangirl's dream gone out of control, but this was the only series this season with a promising viewership rating curve, so I decided to give it a try.
The setting of this series was filled with plot holes. A campus 1/3 size of Tokyo in Japan would require at least $1 billion/year per student to function rather than ridiculously cheap $1 million, why are all butlers ikemen if romance is forbidden, almost everything happened in 4 buildings, what's the ridiculous size for... and that's just the plot flaws on academy itself. The story was simply absurd.
Although everyone looked incredibly beautiful, and fit their roles (especially Yamada Yuu) everyone's acting was horrible at best, even for super-quirky comedy. Only Iwasa Mayuko (Ryuuonji Izumi), Yoshida Riko (Miruku, child prodigy), and Mukai Osamu (Shinobu, Lucia's butler) managed to deliver an acceptable level of acting for my standards.
However, with all such flaws... this series had the drama and magic. The characters slowly grew on me, and there were many touching scenes despite extreme cheesiness. Comedy is excessively wacky, but I found myself laughing most of the time. And yeah, girls are hot, and so were the guys (though I still don't get why Mizushima Hiro is considered ikemen, he has a weird face). School/inheritance politics were portrayed very well.
Although this is a very, very poorly produced dorama, and sometimes extremely predictable, it had the energy and magic. Not a series you would drop half-way. I do like it, I really, honestly... dont/do. The girl, um... Eikura nana, She didnt interest me one bit. Though I hate to say it, I'd like to see more of this drama, just because of what I see. It was interesting, because I couldnt stop pressing the play button. Mizushima was um... fixated? But it rock, through the series.

I just kind of randomly watched this drama and after I figured out what it was I was already enjoying it. I think if I simply read the story I would not have started watching it which would have been my loss.

Cute, funny and touching. The twists towards the end are unexpected and interesting. The theme song is also very catchy. However, there are still a few unfinished chapters after the final episode, so hopefully a special will be made to clear them up. My opinion for this drama is that eventhough i think it is impossible to have this kind of service from a butler(and a handsome one too!) this is still a very nice love story, it's until the end that you realize it love and not service that the butler was giving to mei chan. reminds me of hana kmi because of funny-ness and sabawness. Cast is good. lots of hotties! haha Even has a deeper and graver problem as compared to hana kimi. Makes me want to wish that I could stay in their school and have an S-Rank Butler. The drama overall was quite well done, but there were some bits that put me off. There were some parts that are actually quite commonplace, everyday events, but the drama made them seem mysterious and fantastical for no reason at all, which mystified me.
The other thing that I didn't like much was the actors. Just a small note, but I thought the main female character was a bit too perky and persistent. The main male lead, the butler, was very charming though. =D The thing that REALLY bugged me though, was that Satou Takeru, who played as Super Butler's little brother, looked really badly groomed. And it wasn't even intentional. -_-; I saw him before in Bloody Monday, and he looked a lot better then. In this drama, there's some scenes where he just manages to look 2D, and then sometimes his hair's all weird. >_> No offense to him, but I think that the staff for the drama could have cleaned him up better. | | 2. | Comments by Susan [Rating: 8/10]
Stupid and ridiculous. Gorgeous butlers and Kamen Riders... I really have mixed feelings about this drama. First of all, it has a pair of my favorite actors and Kamen Riders: Mizushima Hiro and Sato Takeru. Those boys were simply adorable and great as a pair of brothers. Eikura Nana wasn't the disaster at acting that I thought she'd be, based on the previews. I didn't quite "get" this drama but I enjoyed it nonetheless. You couldn't help but root for Rihito-sama, MeganeUdon and Mameshiba! Boring and stupid. Although i found the first episode quite nice... the following episodes were a big letdown! didn't quite like the casting as well..... Most of the character were kind of WTF and the plot is just horrible (And the sheeps were soooo annoying showing up randomly). But i gotta say that i laugh pretty hard in some scenes (although just a few) so i give some points for that. A typichal "girls-academy"-drama, which are one of my favorite genres. It was cute, amusing, even a bit touching and exciting to watch! It maybe got too political correct sometimes, but it didn't really bother me. Mizushima Hiro fit that ikkemen character perfectly and so does Sato Takeru (which we'll certainly see more of). Eikura Nana is also one of my faves, I remember her fron Proposal Daisakusen and Ive wanted to see her as the leading role since then. Sugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !!! at the beginning I thought it was kinda .. unreal and .. stupid .. but since I had nothing else to do I watched episode 2 .. Ok, what should I say? Another drama about rich , spoilt kids who won't accept the normal "bimbo" girl in their elite school. Oh ok, but here they have sexy butlers. Hmm yeah, thats it. NOTHING interesting is happening at all! They could at least make it different... Ok I ONLY WATCHED 1 EPISODE. But I don't think I missed anything I didn't see already before in 10 other jdramas. I accidentally came across this weird drama, but it turned out to be very fun! ���C�����̎��� is adapted from a manga, so the story is nothing realistic. All the characters, butlers and their masters, are very funny. The main actors, Mizushima Hiro as Rihito and Sato Takeru as Kento, are sooo adorable. The ending is very cute and keep me hoping for the 2nd season. I rewatched that scene like 4 times. @^^@

I can�ft help but compare it to Hana Kimi. This has a more solid story but it was less entertaining and less funnier although it also has some funny moments, it just not cracks me up as Hana Kimi. The storyline was a typical manga/anime story with characters so familiar to me. But I must say that this has more hint of romance going on between the two leads. *drools* They butler~ He's so cute!! I had seen him in Zettai Kareshi and Hana kimi but now this!?!? Well, it's a 7.5 for me.
It started out good, as a fun, fresh, n hilarious light drama. But, toward the middle part, I started to wonder where this drama going? The only reason that made me finished this drama was Mizushima Hiro. I love Eikura Nana in Proposal Daisakusen, but not really here... Wow, it was long time since HYD and Hana Kimi, since I saw such an entertaining school drama. It's much more better than HYD. Well, not as good as Hana Kimi. I liked the main pairing Eikura Nana/Mizushima Hiro. They looked cute together. Fun to watch - a light, sweet, ridiculous drama and is recommendable to those who no-depth plot but entertaining.

I was skeptical at the beginning, but after watching 4 episodes, I could safely recommend this. Mizushima did an excellent job as the protective, quiet and composed shitsuji.

This is so ridiculous -I Love It ! The cast is so beautiful, so many Ikemens and Bijins, it hurts the eyes but in a good way. A lot of fun , if you don't like Shojou Manga then avoid this. |
