I knew that whichever dorama I watched right after "3-nen A-gumi..." would be at risk of faring poorly in the unavoidable comparison, so I decided to go with one I deemed bad from the start so as not to "ruin" any potentially good dorama, and maaaaaan, did I choose accurately: "Love & Farm" is even worse than I'd expected. If we asked Kumeta-sensei (the guy who did "Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei") to make one of his crazy recaps, it would probably be something like this:
"Six members of a talent agency hide in the Hokkaido countryside, masking their true identities and posing as students from an agricultural faculty. They're spotted right away though, and at the farm, instead of being welcomed with cow dungs and all kinds of smells, they are showered with pink overalls, rainbows and unicorns. Their reaction is ruthless: first they invent the least efficient way ever to move hay from one place to another, then they purposedly injure one of the cows, forcing the farmer to sell it to the slaughterhouse. All the while, aliens hide in the shadows and conduct experiments on them every night, making them up and doing their hair while they're asleep".
Or something like that, LOL! ^___^

I'm pretty much a sucker for anything having to do with Hokkaido, and having grown up on a farm (though an American one, where things are done differently,) I felt oddly at home watching this. A glimpse into Japanese agri-business was fascinating too in its own right, even as fiction. The dual intertwined theme is lightly presented but excellent anyway - effort vs. anti-effort + work as a reflection of character - and the father-son estrangement drama that provides its exposition was well-written and acted. And of course the pastoral Hokkaido scenery is awesome. Lastly, the cast members' having to birth a live calf on-camera, for real, with zero outside assistance and no special effects, should take some kind of award for dedication to realism above and beyond the call of acting. Nothing is done half-heartedly in Japan... 8^] Amazing. As the same calf grows, it becomes the students' pet and sort of an unofficial addition to the cast. Not as emotional a vibe as my other fave Hokkaido dorama "Yasashii Jikan," but a must-watch regardless. |

The successes of this drama barely make up for its failures, but the fact is they do. I kept in mind that this drama was meant to be a slice-of-life series centered around the troubles of farming and family dynamics, and I think I was able to appreciate it more because of that. However, this drama did tease the viewers with little romances that are never resolved by the end, and I find myself unsatisfied with its conclusion. It was also somewhat boring and the "touching" scenes were over the top. "Is that it?" I asked. The true saving grace of this drama was Tamayama Tetsuji, who outshines every other performer in this series, practically carries the drama on his own. Overall, it's watchable if you know what you're getting into and you have an interest in cows. |

A good casting... a beatiful scenario (i loved the fact that now i can say that at least one dorama that i've watched dont take place in a big/medium size city*Osaka, Tokyo, Shizuoka....* or in some island in Okinawa)
Honestly "Ushi ni Negai wo" is quite funny. And the plot is not thaaaat bad (altough a little "cliche")
The major problem is the uncontable things that goes by without a explanation! SPECIALY the fact that one student keep appearing and dissapearing in a randomly way!!! And.. OMFG.. that love-square is REALLY annoying!
Eventough i kind liked this dorama... i cant give anything better than a 5 out of 10... |

A drama set in the farming country of Hokkaido that explores the lives of many different university students - some with an unrelenting passion for farming, and some who would rather be at home or at the mall. Reasonably good cast, but they are held back by the lack of available story lines and a cop-out script that seems to have been conjured up over night. I'm sick of cliched stories - the ending could be seen a mile away. |

The love story were left hanging... and the ending... Speechless... However, it is really a relaxing drama. Shows simple life on a farm. Quite like the drama though. Well, Wakamatsu himself is like the alien. Sometimes you see him and sometimes you dont. But most of the time you dont see him. I would hv give it a 10 if not because of the hanging love story. Erika Toda is really cute here, as cute as in Liar Game. ^_^ |

this show was ok....i didnt like the things that went on in this show...it was probably the most annoying thing i have ever seen in my life....the ending was predictable also.....but on the other the hand the casting was nothing short of great, as was the acting...the comedy was really funny also...if you took this cast and made another show with a better story then i would definitely watch it |

oooops, after all the moo-moo episodes, the show starts to drag and every character is alloted one episode to tell their story. The show is so blatant in showing appreciation to their main sponsor - cell phone NT DoCoMo......why does the cell keep ringing ????? |

Great and unique story with a very good looking cast. A nice departure from the Tokyo or other city-based doramas. It had a nice combination of serious and comedic moments, although I rather wish the ending had been a bit happier... |

I grew up in the countryside so have little patience with unrealistic agriculture settings. It�Ls a though business and the horribly cliched drama doesn�Lt help. Not even the eye candy made this watchable for me. |

This is a good show to kinda boring in some points but if your a fan of Nose Karina and Hiraoka Yuta its good to watch. I sugguest watching Daisuki first then see how well Karina plays differant roles. |
