She was most likely casted for this drama after her performance in "H2". In this drama she plays a nurse who just starts her training and work at a local hospital. However, it's a surprise to her to find out what really goes on at work - she has to deal with perverted doctors and patients. However, even through all of those troubles she's able to find the willpower to continue to help and heal those around her, not just the sick.
This drama although touching at some points, was extremely slow and downright boring in a few episodes and scenes. The perverted nature of doctors especially the one who worked right above her was a tad bit annoying to say the least. There were a few notable scenes that are worth seeing, but I still wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they are die-hard Ishihara Satomi fans. |
2. | Comments by bigfire [Rating: 7/10] A good cast with fair acting all around, but a bit episodic and a little too structured for my taste. The main character is your typical hero type whose infectious personality changes the lives of those around her. But in this case, Aoi-chan is too perfect. Her "flaw" or crime is a heroic act that anyone could sympathize with and you don't really get to see her grow, overcome her flaw, or have things revealed about her that drastically changes your initial impression - She's nice, has a great smile, and loves helping people.
Better than average, but nothing ground breaking. |
3. | Comments by ~ushi~ga~iru~ [Rating: 6/10] only seen 4eps so far not bad..
thought admittedly the only major reason I wanted to see this drama is because Ifm a nursing student and I wanted to get a view ( thought I know dramas arenft real life) of what nursing is like in Japan. though a professional standpoint that drama wisent exactly realistic and made simple produces even a lower level nurse could do overly dramatic and complicated. ( sorry i notice these things ^^;; ) it still was interesting series with some heard, follows the typical career drama cliche's but, will still quite fun and entertaining to watch |
4. | Comments by SayaOtonashi [Rating: 7/10] Average dorama about a nurse entering a new hospital after breaking some rules. At first it seems it is going to be more work-focused but soon it focuses on the relationships between nurses, doctors and patients. I didn't like how fast everyone changed their minds, specially sub director at the end; ending was too gaudy so I didn't really liked it. Anyway it was entertaining watching all episodes, and medical cases weren't bad at all (they reminded me to some US and Spanish medical dramas), and production was quite good too. Not a must see but just give it a try. |
5. | Comments by kumaxell [Rating: 6/10] In a restaurant scene, Aoi complains to Kitazawa about being suspended. Being extremely agitated, she taps her cup with a celery to make her statements. Kitazawa takes it away from her and munches on it. Aoi, then, picks up a carrot and starts tapping again. Kitazawa takes it from her and adds it to his plate. Left with nothing to tap, she starts munching on the chocolates. The waiter looks at her and says they are whiskey chocolates. Next thing we know, she is on Kitazawa's back. |
6. | Comments by Tu_triky [Rating: 6/10] The first starring role for Satomi Ishihara. Unfortunately it's a rather lackluster dorama with an uncompelling storyline and many plot conventions that have been overused in other doramas. Satomi's performance is adequate but doesn't capture the audience in a rapture. The supporting cast members do little to add to the dramatic tension and a few can be exceedingly annoying. The dorama ultimately falls short because of the screenwriting. |
7. | Comments by rikastar [Rating: 6/10] Quite an uneventful dorama. The storyline was quite boring but there were some interesting characters. I loved Yanagiba Toshiro as the slightly perverted but good at heart doctor. They made him look so old here, miles apart from his look in Odoru Daisousasen. The other doctor who is the villian character was good too. The way he talks makes me want to smack him. Ishihara Satomi did ok for her first starring role. |
8. | Comments by AjiKan [Rating: 9/10] Drama storyline definitely could've been better. But it still kept me REALLY hooked. I was watching them as they came from Japan, so i had to wait the full week to watch the next episode TT___TT. And Kei, is awesome in here. It was the first time i got to see him in a drama setting ^^v. Ishihara Satomi did a wonderful job as the worrysome nurse. I'd give it a 10 if the storyline was a little better. I recommend! |
9. | Comments by dekatrain [Rating: 6/10] Typical average J-dorama...relies on unrealistic plot turns and satomi saying "never give up" over and over...no doubt its cliched in that sense. However, it is touching in some parts and it was good to see some character developments especially eeto sensei and takagi sensei...and satomi is as cute as ever. Not a MUST watch but worth a watch if your looking for some light unexilarating entertainment... |
10. | Comments by tkarmina28 [Rating: 7/10] Though Satomi and Keiichiro were there, and there were some pretty emotional parts throughout the drama, the storyline was just boring at the most part and repetitive. It didn't really get too interesting...all they did was save people. Which is always good. But you know.. it kinda is dragging at some point. Though I was amused at Koyama's part the most - the musician/nurse boy. |
11. | Comments by yourasthma [Rating: 7/10] i actually enjoyed this series although it was too 'nice and good' to be true. the cast was stronger than the story and the drama lacked the peaks and troughs that usually make a good drama. however, this means that this series is easy to watch. i'd recommend it. also, ishihara satomi revives my hopes for a future in jdorama. |
12. | Comments by g_hunter1 [Rating: 8/10] Nice drama about a amazing Nurse. This drama sort of reminded me of that game Trama Center Under the knife for the NDS. In that game there was a incredible doctor that could cure people of these weird diseases. Well besides that, Nurse Aoi was a gifted Nurse and it made me wonder why they didn't just make her a doctor. |
13. | Comments by shitomaru [Rating: 9/10] this is one of my fave. satomi-chan played well. i think the director had already made a research before making this drama. the medical terms used were perfect. this film gave me a new perspective on nurse as partner of a doctor. Number uno!!!!! |
14. | Comments by ahguang [Rating: 9/10] omg Satomi is so kawaii!! her acting is really improving...love this drama and the soundtrack that it uses, they are all great especially from it's OST track no. 16. Determination!! cute song tt goes well with the scenes and situations... |
15. | Comments by aiscess [Rating: 8/10] A very inspiring drama about nurses & doctors. I pretty much liked Aoi's perseverance, her love & care for her patients plus her will to help those in need;) Learned few things about medicine^0^ |
16. | Comments by Wynter [Rating: 8/10] Satomi-chan is brilliant in this drama! It's a good, refreshing show that shows you the inner workings of a workplace, and explores the kindness of a good heart among larger political evils! |
17. | Comments by phoenix278 [Rating: 8/10] To tell you the truth, if Satomi wasn't in it, I don't think I would like this drama that much. I would still like it, but not to the extent I do when she is in it! It's still a sweet drama. |
18. | Comments by IniQx [Rating: 7/10] Maybe I've watched too many Jdoramas with the hospital theme, this one has got no surprises at all. Not as realistic as Kyumei Byoto nor as dramatic as Shiroi Kyoto. A pleasant watch still. |
19. | Comments by butterLiLy [Rating: 6/10] Almost every episode have the same 'problem' and tend to get very predictable. Kinda repetitive and got me bored easily. The only reason I follow is because of its medical theme. |
20. | Comments by natni [Rating: 5/10] quite boring...i will fall a sleep every time i watch it but somehow managed to finished it after such a long time....just watch because of koyama n satomi...bcoz love her in H2 |
21. | Comments by KameShun2o9 [Rating: 9/10] Haha, omg there's a lot of perverted doctors in hospitals...sheesh. Anyway, it's really nice- Aoi is a cute but short nurse that holds high morals for herself. And OMG Koyama~ |
22. | Comments by Lisat1005 [Rating: 9/10] Like this one alot, Ishihara Satomi played a different role then normal, but I think she was awesome!!! & it had a good moral to the story as well. Highly recommended! |
23. | Comments by yo-chan [Rating: 6/10] it was good.. but not like: omg must watchi it every week again _ mainly watched it because of Koyama XD he was hot in there.. but the whole thing is a bit cliche.. |
24. | Comments by MoonxBunny [Rating: 6/10] This is my first time watching a Jdrama that is related to hospitals, medicine and lives. But I found it okay, it teared me up a bit. It's a nice Jdrama. :) |
25. | Comments by carla-chan [Rating: 8/10] I like it ^^ I like the plot because somethings that the story explains it's true. Anyway I don't like that seem that the main caracter is like a "hero". |
26. | Comments by kitakaze [Rating: 7/10] Slightly predictable, but a nice twist on the hospital drama with the "hospital from hell" theme. I've never read the manga, but I'll give Satomi 10/10. |
27. | Comments by Eyeyore [Rating: 5/10] weak storyline.some parts remind me of shiroi tower and some parts, Nanako the doctor. For people who like sensationalism in hospital drama. |
28. | Comments by Ahiko [Rating: ?/10] [up to ep01] Very interesting first episode. Waiting to see how Aoi overcomes her hardships. Male idol's performance seemed forced(7/10).. |
29. | Comments by natzumi [Rating: 5/10] Only seen ep 1 and decided not to continue.
Why? Because I'm a partimer for this drama. (quoted from Koyama's character in the show.) |
30. | Comments by gopro [Rating: 7/10] Satomi Ishihara=Cutie. Nurse Aoi=Pity.
Very predictable show, but entertaining. The "villian" in the show is cool though. (Winter 06) |
