The soundtrack was great. Mr. Children has outdone themselves. The cover of the box was also great, as was the beginning credits part when everyone was lying in fetal position. But although there was alot more potential in this subject, the scriptwriters have managed to wreck it by pulling out the whole plot way too long. Basically it's like....ooo am I gunna carry the baby or kill it and dealing with what the outside world thinks. Should've shown her trying to take care of the child. Funnier than most ppl would expect. The concept's pretty out of the ordinary. Beginning is good but middle gets a bit draggy and boring. And Inagaki Goro also gets a bit boring in the middle. If I was the main girl I'd have gone with the Ramen boy instead. Anyways lil laughs carry u through to the end, and it has a fuzzy warm feeling to it so this gets an 8. |

A very deep and dark, heavy drama. Both leads did an amazing job on their characters....great acting. Shows a twisted side of human nature. You really get drawn into the plot. First episode was probably the best. Too bad they kind of give away the end at the front. This is about half as good as the movie version, which I'd watched first. It goes into itty gritty details that the movie never mentionned...and I'm not sure I'd prefer to know those details. The main guy was disgusting. It was real pain watching him go on and on in his disgusting whiny voice, even after he changed to "normal" mode...he was DISGUSTING. And Ito Misaki is not as good as the movie Hermes either. Not denying she is pretty but she just isn't as elegant. Whole thing ruined the romance of the movie version. Really good music. Casting was superbly done...everyone matched their roles really well and even though we all know Sakaguchi is practically an indestructible god in there, still enjoy seeing him succeed operation after operation. Used to think Sakaguchi was a bit wierd (after watching FIGHTING GIRLS) but this has changed my whole opinion of him. And Teppei is just CUTE. The very first Japanese drama I watched in my life. And probably still my favourite to this day. Just LOVE Kimura Takuya in here, and though I wasn't crazy abt the girl lead, she did a good job on her role. And with Matsu Takako and Takenouchi as 2nd characters.....MMMMM. Love this movie ALOT ALOT. Nakayama does a terrific job acting both roles. The camerawork is beautifully done and the style is sweet, nostalgic, romantic, and a bit bitter. Kashiwabara's role is great...I loved watching the schooldays flashbacks...too bad there weren't that many....More would've been better. This has got to be one of the WORST I have seen in a long time. A total recopy of 1L without the romance, the sensitivity, the plot. The lead characters have got zero chemistry, though I like Yamada and think he is a really good actor. My favourite character turned out to the 2nd role girl playing Erika's friend. Erika is just so smug and overly self-confident in her own acting that it becames VERY ANNOYING. Like the way she keeps rolling her eyes....And she doesn't even look sick or weak at all.
