They tend to give you just enough frustration to make the happier resolutions meaningful, and they will linger there just long enough before adding some more painful moments. Omiai kekkon throws this right out the window. They torture you eternally. Every single episode consists of Setsuko telling Kotaro how horribly sucky he is before running away, and he always responds by doing exactly nothing. Every now and then they will try to spice it up by having Setstuko decide by herself that she totally loves him, at which point he will run away. At every single second of watching this I wanted to kick in my television screen. But, the big but of all this is that I still loved it. These were some of the absolute best characters and actors, and they all worked so well together as a whole. The effect was like a drive through beautiful scenery on a very bumpy road. I wish it had been more enjoyable to watch, but it is still forgivable for such wonderful characters. |

As his first leading man job, Yusuke Santamaria was very funny. The ending make you feel happy! I was actually surprised about how good this drama turned out to be! I'm just curious whether Matsu is really like this in person. There were a few touching moments and Matsu stole the whole show. That's why she is one of the top leading ladies in Japanese dorama. Note: the soundtracks were good too. |
3. | Comments by princess [Rating: 9/10] This drama is seriously really funny. I laughed so much in each episode. <fangirling>YOSUKE IS SO HOT IN THIS DRAMA EVENTHOUGH HE ISN'T EVEN THE MAIN CHARACTER IN THE DRAMA </fangirling>
There are bits that are really weird and I think it wasn't quite necessary, but it was all those bits that made the drama sp funny and enjoyable.
I didn't particuarly like the storyline that much, but it was alright! |
4. | Comments by yolande [Rating: 5/10] this dorama was played on tv while i was having exams, so exam stress may account for the floods of tears i experienced every episode. this is not exactly a bawl-bawl tearjerker, in fact, its supposed to be a comedy. but the plot, though rather predictable, was moving and very sweet. good acting from santamaria and kubozuka. matsu takako is adorable in this show. |
5. | Comments by yume [Rating: 10/10] Matsu Takako at her finest as an upbeat and determined girl who doesn't feel like getting married at the moment since she has had such horrible luck with dating. Yusuke Santamaria and Matsu Takako have great chemistry and the story only gets funnier as time goes on. The last episode is really when I sighed and smiled. It was great! This is a must-see. |
6. | Comments by Hemilya [Rating: 9/10] Despite the low quality of the video I've received great pleasure watching this drama. It show the developmet of the relationship between two people, who met through arranged marriage meeting. It shows how woman gets rid of her selfishness, how man explores what it is - to take care about his woman. And how both of them find their happiness. |
7. | Comments by DragonSpirit164 [Rating: 8/10] Good drama. Matsu Takako was very kirei in this.. Not much fire going on here between Santamaria and Takako, but I believe it was because their characters were not meant to be comfortable with each other in the first place... I wish Kotaru would be more decisive though... Sakura no ame, Itsuka is one of the BEST theme songs ever.. |
8. | Comments by sadacori [Rating: 8/10] This is a nice romantic comedy about a couple who meet through an arranged marriage and find themselves growing fond of each other despite a rocky start. Though the 2 main actors are popular, I thought that the comedy relief of the supporting cast made it a watchable drama. If it weren't for them, this would be a mediocre show. |
9. | Comments by dnie [Rating: 8/10] A sweet story of how Omiai kekkon(arranged marriage) cd be a perfect union of two souls..this dorama highlights that Omiai Kekkon is not bad at all, if u know how to use it well..Matsu Takako is much naught-ier than in love gen and yusuke plays an honest, straight guy..good couple and beautiful theme song by Matsu Takako.. |
10. | Comments by marspeach [Rating: 8/10] It was overall a cute romantic comedy. Nothing too special to make it a favorite or anything but I liked it enough. Kubozuka Yosuke was very good-looking all clean-cut in this role. I thought the last few episodes were getting a little bit repetitive with the back and forth between "yes" and "no" indecisiveness. |
11. | Comments by drive [Rating: 10/10] I really enjoyed this one. Although it didn't very well in terms of rating due to Kimura's "beautiful life", in my personal opinion, this was better. Good mixture of humor and seriousness. I learned many good lessons about life from Tanuma san as well :)
Thought it was very candid story of human life. |
12. | Comments by kanshu [Rating: 9/10] This jdrama was a surprise. It revolves around love and falling in love vs. arranged marriage.
Add to it the complications of family expectations, friends and job, and you'll end up with a wonderful story of character growth. I loved the acting, the plot was well paced and full of surprising turns. |
13. | Comments by v1olet [Rating: 10/10] nobody wants to get married through ommiai, but lots people do that by circumstances. this dorama tells the despair and true felling of people involved in arranged marriage. sweet and funny drama. |
14. | Comments by Amika [Rating: 10/10] one of takako most interesting drama, the story is good and she is really pretty in this drama. The only downside is Yusuke Santamaria who doesn't look particularly well match with takako. |
15. | Comments by jo [Rating: 5/10] Boring story....Matsu is funny and witty although I never liked the opposite actor. No chemistry at all, same thing with the background casts. TOO BORING. D - is deserving. |
16. | Comments by ystlu [Rating: 8/10] Unlike many of its counter-parts, the plot of this drama actually
goes somewhere- contains many thought-provoking one-liners,
perfect touch of humor. |
17. | Comments by pandora [Rating: 8/10] Is a nice dorama, but tends to drag and the pace is slow and true to the theme, its hard to feel that the lead two really care for each other. |
18. | Comments by moonchyld [Rating: 6/10] it's ok. it's got matsu takako.
but it doesn't have what it takes to be one of the ranks. didn't like matsu's character that much... |
19. | Comments by jtwong27 [Rating: ?/10] I have yet to watch it but i will once i get the time. hmm.. maybe during christmas. so far, heard its good :)! looking forward to it! |
20. | Comments by lola [Rating: 7/10] Ok, and funny. I never really got into this one, though. Probably because the main guy wan't too cute. Yah, I'm shallow like that. |
21. | Comments by elfgeek [Rating: 7/10] Matsu Takako was the only saving grace for this drama in my opinion. She's one of the best in the industry! |
22. | Comments by biga816 [Rating: ?/10] Light hearted story with the supporting characters playing a major role. Worth taking a look at. |
23. | Comments by russia [Rating: 6/10] hard to see the 2 leads together. or maybe that's the whole point. that's why they need omiai :)) |
24. | Comments by Blood_Berry [Rating: ?/10] achaa.. lost my drive to watch this cuz of the horrible quality of the episodes that i got. >_< |
25. | Comments by emiko [Rating: 9/10] Funny & entertaining. I've been looking for the VCD but I can't seem to find it anywhere... |
26. | Comments by 100aw [Rating: 5/10] Quite dull although it stars Matsu Takako. Weird combination with Sanatamaria Shunske. |
27. | Comments by Signo [Rating: 8/10] funny lovestory, typicall suspense curve. the end was a little bit too rush. |
28. | Comments by Ezalor [Rating: ?/10] I wont'watch this until i get a better quality version than my lousy vhs rip |
29. | Comments by gaijinmark [Rating: 9/10] Great script, excellent supporting cast and Matsu is irresistble!!! |
30. | Comments by loveaomori [Rating: 7/10] watcable...funny way to deal with omiai. But not an amazing drama |
