A cute drama taking from the theme that personality is more important than a person's looks, personality helps shape a person's beauty. I thought that this drama was a bit similar to the idea in the Korean drama, "My Name is Kim Sam Soon". In both dramas, the protagonist is an average and not so good looking woman. The male in this drama is wealthy and a bit superficial in the beginning. But he soon learns that beauty is not always found on the outside.
In this particular story, Oomori Nao plays a hefty woman who dreams of becoming a serious actress. Her dreams led her to Tokyo, but she's always rejected because she's overweight and none of the casting crew can take her seriously. She meets a man who directs Variety Shows (played by Inagaki Goro). He sees her and instantly sees a hit with her if she were to act in comedy. Throughout the drama, he tries to persuade her to be in his show. The acting was a little over the top, but fun to watch. Oomori Nao does a good job of portraying the main character with her determination and sometimes frustration when encountering obstacles. Inagaki Goro however seemed a little insincere when executing his dialogues. Overall, it was a fun drama to watch and I would recommend it for people who are looking for a light romance. |

Casting Inagaki Goro as the super goodlooking screenwriter may have been a bit farfetched, but he plays a kind-hearted, handsome, successful screenwriter well so it's forgiven. So far as Miyuki (played by comedienne Morisanjuu's Tomoko?), she's an absolute delight to watch. I love how they didn't try to "create" someone "ugly" or "fat" and just let the character and casting speak for itself--not that she's an ugly woman, but by the standards set in this drama and society, she is, so all works well. In addition to that, the supporting cast is lively and interesting, and not just an array of pretty faces as seen in other dramas from the Spring 2006 season. The speed of the story seems a bit slow at first, but the pace eventually finds a good rhythm, leaving you full of anticipation by the end. |

Finally completed this series. Despite the interesting concept behind this dorama, the quality of the script and acting fell far short of what I had expected. Tomoko's effort was apparent and worth mentioning but the rest of the cast just didn't have the coherence or 'team' feel evident in other doramas. The weakest part of the series was probably the script, particularly for the comedic moments, which far too often felt forced and unnatural. Overall, a disappointment... |

Funnier than most ppl would expect. The concept's pretty out of the ordinary. Beginning is good but middle gets a bit draggy and boring. And Inagaki Goro also gets a bit boring in the middle. If I was the main girl I'd have gone with the Ramen boy instead. Anyways lil laughs carry u through to the end, and it has a fuzzy warm feeling to it so this gets an 8. |

The original idea was quite interesting actually, the story of an ugly girl, but what counts is the inner beauty, but the script was really boring. I think the character interpreted by Inagaki Goro is stupid and useless, and I don�Lt understand why all the girls fall in love with him. I prefer 100 times the boy working in the ramen-ya. |

Very bad acting of Inagaki. It not possible to choose the ugly one. What a fucking waste! Ebi chan!!!!!!!!!!! POOR Ebi chan!! Go to excuse you to her! What a waste!! Anyway the koda kumi song is nice but the dorama isn't very deep... Beautiful people, Megumi, Ebi chan etc... but whitout a script or a plot a drama is uncomplete! |

This was a great drama with a good cast and overall awesome plot line. It had its flaws, however. I was a little disappointed at the rushed ending and Miyuki's jump to comedy. But overall it was a lot of fun! This drama is definitely one of those pick-me-up series that is a must see when you're feeling down. |

If not ��_��Y, I don't think I will watch the first episode. However, I feel I still couldn't bear it. I just can't bear that he is with her. Sad, because of this, I might quit watching it, even though I like ��Y pretty much. Hope others are not like me and keep the viewship high. |

This actually turned out better than I thought. I didn't like the title as it was very condescending, but the actual story of an unattractive girl hoping to hook up with the good looking guy is the female version of dramas like Train Man or 101st Marriage Proposal. |

I put this one on hold for a long time due to the title. I didn't like it and found it kind of insulting. But, the drama is good and I liked it. A nice cast, most of it comedy and little dramatic on the side.

Goro's so wooden it's hard to understand why he deserves the affection of three women who deserve so much better. It's hard to really care for the characters, even Tomoko Murakami who turned in a credible performance, after awhile. |
