To be honest, I don't think Takuya's acting was 'brilliant' in it. He's just trying to be the same 'charismatic' guy that he has always been.
Kou, the actress, caught my attention though. This was the first dorama that I saw of her and think she is very talented. She isn't the prettiest japanese actress, for sure, but she just got this ability to catch the audience's attention very easily.
Its sutble way of describing love is very nice and to-the-point. No mushy lines or scenes could be find here but one can still feel 'love' throughout the show. :) | Haken no Hinkaku [ハケンの品格]

Tomoya was so cool in it. The story was kind of new to me (quite unlike those mainstream Japanese dorama) and it does make me wanna visit Ikebukuro one day.
I won't say it is one of my favorite though. Mafia, blood, violence, detective stories and the Japanese sex industry just isn't my thing.
Plus...there really are too much blood in it. Argh...I can't bear to watch a Tomoya who speaks foul language, and who got hurt in such a way that his whole face and body was covered with BLOOD. yuck... |

What a hot and seductive role for Tomoya!! Never seen him in a role like this before.
Even though Tomoya's role was really hot and sexy in the first half of the drama, I actually like the 2nd half more. I like to see how the different characters faced and dealt with their own problems: their loneliness, betrayals, fears, responsibilities, promises and ambitions in life. |

One of the sweetest love stories I have ever watched on tv! I believe the reason why this series touches me so much is because unlike other Japanese dorama, which could be a bit too exaggerating at times, the problems that this couple encounter in the dorama are really some of the daily problems that ordinary people like you and me will come across too. It just reminds us some of the mistakes that we may also have made in our own relationship.
And of course, Takuya and Takako do make a perfect couple! :p | Love letter

Oh...watching this dorama makes me feel SUPER HUNGRY each time. The different kinds of food shot in the series just look soooo very yummy. If only I could also have a "Kitchen Macroni" of my own in the future.

Good cast, great acting and yuichiro is just as cute (but a little *too* cute at times, I am afraid).
What let me down a tad bit is the fact that the plot is indeed 70% similar to the previous series. Not much surprise, really. Besides, I really prefer yu-san's wife in the previous one more. They had more chemistry and were a lot more 'convincing' than this one. The part about his mother was good, nonetheless.

Absolutely love this one. The silly yu-san is cute and loveable while the all dashing sakuraba yuichiro is .. ahem .. so kakkoi! A great story about the importance of family. It reminds us once again what really is important in life -- not money, nor fame, but FAMILY!!

A very funny yet touching drama. Nagase's acting is, once again, awesome in it. One can definitely 'get' something after watching this drama. It's not just a plain comedy. It definitely goes deeper than that. This is surely a drama that one can savour for more than once!
And, I don't think it will be half as good without Nagase being the lead! He really IS an incredible actor!! |

[After watching this series, one could understand why Tomoya can earn yet another Best Actor Award 2005 playing the role "Tiger"]
To be honest, I didn't quite like this series when I watched the first 2 episodes. Just as the rest of this genius director's works (namely IWGP), it took me quite some time to get used to his style. But this really is a clever drama and it did grow on me after the 3rd and 4th episode.
One could never ever thought about integrating our daily life with the different classic rakugo stories. All the actors did a wonderful job in delivering those classic lines. What a cool thing to do. And I like the rakugo master a great deal!
Unfortunately, ALL the actresses in the dorama got on my nerves. I am sorry to say that I like none of them. |

I love heart-warming family drama. And so this has got to be one of my favorite. Like the papa role a great deal. I mean, who wouldn't love such a sensitive guy who cares about his family above all things, who love kids and is good at cooking and all that. :)
