I love Suzuki Honami, once again she shines as her role as Manae, a woman who finds love in the most unexpected of places and at the most unexpected times. She once again was able to capture the feelings of and emotions of Manae s well that the audience cannot help but rise and fall with her.
Her male opposite played by Kishitani Goro (Kohei) does an excellent job, the two of them have great on-screen chemistry and some of the dialogue was just unforgettable. The other two were also good at the characters that they portrayed. The wavering feelings between the four of them was apparent and realistic (for this type of situation). Also, Celine Dion's "To Love You More" really seemed to be the perfect theme song for the overall tone of the story.
The only quirk that I have with this drama is the ending, the plot was very tight until then (even though sometimes a bit contrived), but I still recommend watching it for some angst and if you're a fan of Suzuki Honami. |

Excellent acting all around, would love to see a subtitled version of this someday, cause I know I missed some things. Theme music is highly appropriate, although by the end of the series I never wanted to hear Celine Dion again... ;-D |
3. | Comments by EstherM [Rating: 8/10] Good old-school drama on what happens when you meet the love of your life the day you marry (somebody else). Itfs a more mature drama trying to explore relationships after you wed, which is something rare in the drama world. The only thing I deemed unnecessary was that there had to be *spoiler alert* a tragic illness at the end to solve conflicts. |
4. | Comments by jdfan [Rating: 9/10] I lot of fans considered this a a classic. This drama presented a very different way of looking at unfaithful relationships. A four way love affair and also they became neighbours. Suzuki Honami was great and wish she had worked on more dramas. Not as good as Tokyo love story. |
5. | Comments by gaijinmark [Rating: 9/10] The four main actors (Honami Suzuki, Goro Kishitani, Kyoko Suzuki, Koichi Sato) are so good together, they really make this work. And check out a young Tomoya Nagase and Miki Mizuno just starting out. |
