Aoi Tori [青い鳥] Amazing, simply amazing. I am deeply touched by this beautiful drama. It is a shame it is not known as well as LV or BL, but I believe this one outranks them. If you find that you have a chance to see this, do not miss it! I have never heard of this drama before, but thankfully I decided to give it a shot. I was hooked since probably as early as the 2nd episode, and could not stop watching. It is unlike any drama I have seen before, in terms of plot. I don't know how much else I could say without revealing anything, so take my advice and watch it for yourself.
Boku dake no Madonna [僕だけのマドンナ] cant wait for someone to sub this in english. great show by what i understand from the unsubbed version.
Mayonaka no Ame [真夜中の雨] This one deserves some more recognition. A great drama with a great story, but what makes this one different is that its not focused on love, and relationships. It feels like a refreshing break, the plot is great, the story can get very suspenseful. plus, great soundtrack. all in all, great drama that you should really not miss, especially if you're a fan of suspense.
Strawberry on the shortcake [ストロベリー・オンザ・ショートケーキ] great drama that deals with teenager love. got me hooked, great acting skills from both takizawa, uchiyama rina, but one that suprised me with his leader-like acting skills - yosuke.
Summer snow sigh, great drama, and im sure youve heard, great ending. sigh.. this drama will probably stay in ur memories for quite a while, if not forever.

Ikewaki Chizuru [池脇千鶴] very cute, and good acting skills, especially in Summer Snow. she is a lot more prettier than how she looks like in this old pic of her.
Kubozuka Yosuke [窪塚洋介] Great actor. Made the series SOS a lot more livelier, and showcased his natural skills.
Kuroda Miki [黒田美樹] KAWAIII!!!! why hasnt she done any other dramas? she has the talent, and definetely the looks
Oda Yuji [織田裕二] acts very professional in midnight rain, great drama- great leading role
Oguri Shun [小栗旬] interesting roles for him, in GTO and in Summer Snow, im voting for him because he was an integral part of summer snow, and acted the role flawlessly
Sorimachi Takashi [反町隆史] Great in GTO of course, but check out Hotman. It will show u almost the complete opposite side of him. It shows he can do well in all kinds of roles.
Takizawa Hideaki [滝沢秀明] All his dramas that i have watched are interesting, and appealing to people in their late teens/20s. if he stars in it, it must be good - news no onna, boku dake no madonna, and of course sos and majo no jouken.
First Love Rating: 7/10 (Watched) I guess compared to what ive seen so far its the worst, but when i havent seen anything else yet, it was pretty good
GTO [麻辣教師] Rating: 10/10 True classic. This one is for everyone, it can reach a wide variety of people, and there isnt one episode that will leave you dissapointed and feeling as if you were not entertained.
Hakoiri Musume! [ハコイリムスメ！] Rating: 8/10 So far so good. I laughed at how they treated the 'gaijin' so harshly. In any case, both the female leads are great, plus there is also some extra material with the foreigner. I only watched one episode so far, but i will definitely watch more once they are released.
Hotman [ホットマン] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Watching it currently on local TV. It was kind of slow at first, but once you get the hang of whats going on, it picks up pace. The last episode I saw was the 6th, and that was a great change of pace- by end of 6th ep i decided i like this series now.
Koi ga shitai Koi ga shitai Koi ga shitai [恋がしたい恋がしたい] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Eh.. so so. Pretty good but didnt leave me waiting for the next ep too badly. It kinda picked up pace in the last 2 or 3 episodes. When i was up to the 6th or 7th i remember asking myself, wait a second this is the 6th or 7th already? what of big importance has happened so far? but it picked up pace in the end. All in all, if its offered to you on tv like to me, i recommend giving it a watch, but dont ask around if anyone has it for DL, or try to buy it, not worth it in my opinion
Mayonaka no Ame [真夜中の雨] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Loved it! It was on local TV once a week, so the suspence was elevated even more since I had to wait each episode out, and trust me there was much to wait for during those weeks. I love this series, and im glad i was exposed to it. It's a mystery that will keep you guessing, but not in a cheesy way, in a way that will keep you interested. The soundtrack is also worthy of mentioning.
Ring: Saishusho [リング 最終章] Rating: 8/10 can get a bit draggy at times, but overall a great plot. just stick to whats happening and you will probably enjoy it. for me personally, i did not like the female reporter..
Strawberry on the shortcake [ストロベリー・オンザ・ショートケーキ] Rating: 10/10 This is the drama that got me hooked. It is a classic to me, and i dont care about whoever does not like it. it kept me interested throughout the whole thing of course, but it also made me go through the last couple of episodes thinking that i don't want it to end. It was so good watched the 10 eps in the course of 5 weeks, as opposed to 1-2 weeks, in order for it not to end too quickly. it still did.
Summer snow Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Ahh, summer snow. There are so many things to this drama that make it heartwarming, and you feel good after watching each episode. Only bad thing i could think of is the little girl. AAAH did anyone else think she was annoying looking at her cue cards so frequently while talking to the people with no expression whatsoever. her eyes just kept going back and forth from person to a space behind/to the side of the person while speaking one continuous sentence that it felt very unnatural. It doesnt bother me, its just very noticeable. One more thing - To the writer of this drama, the one that came up with that ending = pure genius, make more like this, best drama ending ive seen.
