Hana Yori Dango [花より男子] one of the main reasons why i loved HYD so much is for it's excellent live portrayal of the characters. the transition from manga to anime to live action was so flawless, you didn't really miss a thing. casting was spot-on excellent, from F4 and Makino to Kaeda to Tsubaki & Shizuka; with the one exception of Makino's mom, but i preferred her personality in the drama over the anime. with such great portrayals, it wasn't hard to make the stories come alive and feel real. excellent drama.
Hana Yori Dango Season 2 [花より男子] seeing as how the first season ended, i'm glad there was a continuation. not only do we get to peek into the lives of these wonderful characters yet again, but there is so much more stories to tell and so much more to learn. HYD2 Returns was beyond excellent; with all it's frustrations and tear-jerking moments, the payoff in the end made it all worth-while!

Hayami Mokomichi [速水もこみち] i first noticed him in GOKUSEN 2, but what really drew me in to him was his work in BROTHER BEAT. i just adore his charisma and that bright smile!
Kamenashi Kazuya [亀梨和也] it was Kamenashi's role in YUUKI that cemented my attraction for his acting skills. the range of emotions he played, from cheerful & happy to depressed & sorry, came through the screen and felt very real. he portrayed the character with great justice.
Matsumoto Jun [松本潤] i like to watch actors who can play a variety of roles and show different sides to their acting abilities. the first to do this for me was MatsuJun, with his classic roles in KIMI WA PETTO, GOKUSEN, and HYD 1&2.
Mizushima Hiro [水嶋ヒロ] Mizushima Hiro has impressed me just from his acting alone in HANA KIMI. he is an excellent actor that radiants great charisma, and his smile adds to his charm. i look forward to watching more of his work.
Nagase Tomoya [長瀬智也] what i love most about Nagase's acting abilities are put onscreen in MUKODONO. the fact that he can be so silly & cute as Yu-chan then so calm, collected, & cool as Yuichiro amazes me. it's 2 polar opposite personalities that Nagase portrays wonderfully.
Namase Katsuhisa [生瀬勝久] i love Namase Katsuhisa, simply because he always makes me laugh! he's a very talented actor and i respect him greatly. i loved his chemistry with Namaka Yukie in the GOKUSEN series; his facial expressions were priceless! and he was adorable in BROTHER BEAT as well!
Oguri Shun [小栗旬] watching Oguri Shun grow up from GTO to HANA YORI DANGO, his talent for acting never ceases to amaze me. i adored his character most in STAND UP!! and would love to see him in more lead roles.
Tamaki Hiroshi [玉木宏] ah, the new love of my life who's, seriously, too beautiful for words. he's a wonderful actor who is great at portraying innocence, romance, and comedy. he has a beautiful singing voice. i loved him in both NODAME CANTABILE & TADA, KIMO WO AISHITERU, as well listening to him sing in RIPPLE.
Yamashita Tomohisa [山下智久] another actor that i've seen growing up on screen, Yamapi's acting ability has definitely improved throughout the years, only getting better and becoming more believable with each new character he takes on. most adorable as Akira in NOBUTA WO PRODUCE;very sexy as Kurosaki in KUROSAGI.
Ace wo Nerae! [エースをねらえ!] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) more dramatic than i expected, especially the ending and SP. but the SP gave some closure to the loss and i appreciated that.
Bara no nai Hanaya [薔薇のない花屋] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) the most touching story i've ever seen thus far. i cried a million times throughout this entire series. love love love it!
Nodame Cantabile [のだめ カンタビ−レ] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) this drama left me speechless! it was so sweet and full of great passion for music, all the while being absolutely hillarious at the same time. Chiaki & Nodame are so adorable together. chuuu~! and! this is probably the first drama that i actually liked Eita in. that monkey boy did good this time.
Proposal Daisakusen [プロポーズ大作戦] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) it took me a long time to finish this drama because it was so formulaic. and to predict (and rightfully so) that the whole series would take place at the wedding got tiresome. but as i got into the later episodes it seemed to get better. and then came the anti-climatic and unsatisfactory ending... geez... what a disappointment. if there was a SP to give some definite closure, rather than just Pi smiling, i think it would make it better for me.
EDIT: added 1+ point since the release of the SP. got my closure, now i'm happy.
Erai Tokoro ni Totsuide Shimatta! [エラいところに嫁いでしまった!] not all that bad... [Rating: 8/10] after watching the first episode, i was like, "divorce!" because no way could i stand the troubles that Kimiko's husband put her through with his family. i mean really, i was pretty damned annoyed and i didn't see how i could even finish watching a drama like this. and i felt the same after episode 2 and episode 3... but next thing you know, just as Kimiko had discovered, you start to really get into this quirky family and just accepting them for who they are. next thing i knew, i ended up enjoying the series and actually liking characters.
Iso: yes, still willy nilly and no backbone, but loving and has the best intentions.
Oka-sama: she misunderstands a lot, but she has got to be the nicest lady around!
Oto-sama: loved him. "hmmph!"
even that mean ass sister and annoying cousin grew on me. it was the first "bride & mother-in-law" drama i've seen, so i don't have nothing to compare it to. but as a drama itself, i found it enjoyable, funny, and endearing as it ended.
