Ichi Ritoru no Namida [1リットルの涙] depressing is not the word that describes Ichi rittoru. rather, it makes you want to live life to the fullest. it's beautiful in many aspects..and the casts light up the story. whether you like dramas or not, or whether this is the type of drama you like watching, i would suggest it just because it's THAT powerful. Ichi rittoru humbles you.
Pride [プライド] i don't even know how to explain this, but i fell in love with the drama as soon as i started watching it. it's incredible to see such a well-rounded drama with a lot of plot and character development. the romantic moments are amazing; kimura and takeuchi had GREAT chemistry. the side casts are entertaining as well. it's authentic. you wouldn't want to miss it.
Attention Please [アテンションン プリース] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) when i first watched it, i got really hooked to the story. it's not just about this cute girl that claims she will do her best to achieve a goal; it's about her finding the purpose behind reaching that goal and changing her mindset as she works to reach it. what amazes me the most is how the great variety of plot works with character development. you really have to see for yourself.
yeah, it's true that sometimes the acting looks a little "fake," however that's not caused by the ability of the cast, but by the nature of the story. it's not meant to be like entirely serious to the point.. and the parts that are pretty serious make up for the ones that are not.
if you've stopped at or skipped episode 7 and/or 8, you'll regret it. watch them for the sake of watching dramas. =]
Densha Otoko [電車男] (Bought & Watched) i don't feel like rating this... the drama is so off from the novel. READ THE NOVEL. it's like 100000x more accurate and better..lol
Ichi Ritoru no Namida [1リットルの涙] Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched) this is THE BEST. it makes you want to live life to the fullest. it's awesome in every aspect..just trust the posted comments! this is a must-watch, the best dorama i've seen so far.
Moto Kare [元カレ] Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched) although controversial among many dorama critics, i feel that this drama deserved an 7. i definitely enjoyed the great acting done by each actor, and i saw reality in this series. the ending might not have pleased everyone, but i am satisfied because that's what happens in real life. all in all, the songs "hakka candy" and "tsunami" fully expressed the mood of motokare.

Review:
I think this is a very deep dorama. Many people watch doramas for fun and want the storyline to progress "their way", but Moto Kare proves how life is actually like in reality. When unexpected things happen, there's nothing one can do expect learning how to deal with them; that's what Touji, Makoto, and Nao have been coping with throughout the dorama.
I gave Moto Kare an 7 also because of the acting. I think they all did a very good job depicting the characters; I can tell that Toji is a VERY indecisive, but at the same time, very gentle; Makoto is a hard-working woman that is obviously still in love with Toji after the breakup; and Rina plays a lovely woman that is passionately in love with Toji. They're all unique and, at times, selfish. As a plus, the music is great. "Tsunami" fits the flashback perfectly, as well as the ever-addicting song "Hakka Candy" and the other insert song.
Narita Rikon [成田離婚] Rating: 6/10 (Bought & Watched) this should be a 6.5 honestly. there's a few parts of the drama that tug at your heart strings. it's hilarious and touching at times, but it gets laggy near the middle. overall, it's alright.
Pride [プライド] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) i don't even know how to explain this, but i fell in love with the drama as soon as i started watching it. it's incredible to see such a well-rounded drama with a lot of plot and character development. the romantic moments are amazing; kimura and takeuchi had GREAT chemistry. the side casts are entertaining as well. it's authentic. you wouldn't want to miss it.
Ai Nante Irane Yo, Natsu [愛なんていらねえよ、夏] A Must-Watch [Rating: 8/10] another ten i must give! this drama is dark, but it warms up as the audience comes to understand the characters better episode by episode. i don't think there could be another song that fits the theme of this drama better than the one chosen. whenever it plays, whenever i see Ryoko with her eyes closed, getting only a blurry view of Atsuro, a warmth grows to exist in the darkness.
the story takes its time for character development, filled with scenes of every kind. the ending is obviously predictable, but it's the process which leads to the ending that truly makes this drama worth watching. :) props to the director! the selected cast is beautiful - i love realistic portrayal; each person has done their job well.
this is a drama that shouldn't be overlooked! i recommend it.
Dekichatta Kekkon [できちゃった結婚] Pretty good [Rating: 8/10] *WARNING* THIS IS NOT MUCH OF A SPOILER, BUT SKIP IT JUST IN CASE IT DOES!
i like how the purpose of the dorama is entirely fulfilled even though everything is reversed: pregnancy, caring for each other, falling in love, baby delivery, and then marriage. the title is unique..reflects what Takenouchi says at the very end to Ryoko's father outside of the hospital building. through the dorama, i've learned so much more about life and the little important things that most people avoid and have trouble with when problems hit. responsibility and the love of parents are also huge messages.
aside from the story and its meaning, i like the cast. takenouchi's looks fit his character pretty well lol. i love the hat. ryoko is finally smiling when crying..i think she looks better that way; also, i'm pretty sure she had a cold..it was the time when she had almost lost her voice (read it from the news). yuriko, katase, hiroshi, and tsumabuki = well-selected cast! all of them have well-distinguished personalities. music = REALLY, REALLY good.
Ichi Ritoru no Namida [1リットルの涙] Looking at life with a different perspective [Rating: 10/10] you get to see life with aya's eyes. this drama is amazing. it makes you want to live life to the fullest and help those around you. you'll be surprised just to watch how aya puts everyone else before herself and humbly wishes to help anybody, especially people like herself when she's really the one that others should help.
the family's reactions are touching. her parents, sisters, and brother are extremely loving and caring - a perfect family. and asou-kun. you'll grow to love this guy lol. btw, the music is like SUPERB, i couldn't stop singing it in the shower, to sleep, and even in school. the acting is incredibly awesome (go erika!). although i must admit, if there was more romance..just a little more, nothing too huge, then i think it would have earned a true, perfect 10. i know that's not the objective of the drama, but wouldn't a well-rounded drama be the best? =)
anyway, you wouldn't want to miss this! it doesn't matter if you like dramas or not. watch it lol. if you hate touchy slash sad dramas, watch it! you don't actually cry because it's sad; you cry because you feel amazed by aya's humbleness and the cares of her friends and family.
Moto Kare [元カレ] Hidden meanings [Rating: 8/10] I think this is a very deep dorama. Many people watch doramas for fun and want the storyline to progress "their way", but Moto Kare proves how life is actually like in reality. Pride [プライド] It hooks you from the start [Rating: 9/10] i don't even know how to explain this, but i fell in love with the drama as soon as i started watching it. it's incredible to see such a well-rounded drama with a lot of plot and character development. the romantic moments are amazing; kimura and takeuchi had GREAT chemistry. the side casts are entertaining as well. it's authentic. you wouldn't want to miss it.
Summer snow Fantabulous [Rating: 9/10] summer snow kept me up from the beginning to the end. i didn't even want to skip the opening and ending song..lol.
first off, the storyline is awesome. it portrays reality - typical days in Japan, but at the same time the story seems so original. you'll understsand when you watch.
next, this drama features a great cast that made the soap feel so realistic. development of relationship is definitely a plus as well - nothing was rushy..everything flowed smoothly.
then we have the ending, which in my opinion, is vital for adding extra props for summer snow! for me personally, it was unpredictable. if you take the dialogues (at the end) to a deeper level, you'll totally understand just how fulfilling of a meaning the ending creates for natsuo and yuki, and of course the audience.
the music rocks, as always. the ending video matches perfectly with the song. yay for kinki kids! =)
all in all, this drama is one of the best i've ever seen so far. i'm satisfied now that i'm done with it. so give it a try! i hope you'll enjoy it as much as i did. *have a tissue box within your reach!*
