14 sai no Haha [14歳の母]
| Ace wo Nerae! [エースをねらえ!]
| Anego [アネゴ] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Noda Naoko is beautiful to watch but I found her character vague and indecisive. Jin is adorable as a nervous new recruit who falls for Noda. It's not a brilliant drama but it's worth watching. People will complain that the ending is a letdown, though. |
Attack No.1 [アタック No.1]

Densha Otoko [電車男] Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched) This insight into the life of an Otaku is humorous and touching. There's a nice mix of romance and modern day internet culture. Densha was a gentleman but could get tiresome. Hermes was sweet and Shiraishi Miho was hilarious in her part.Good drama, but sometimes slow and repetitious | Dragon Zakura [ドラゴン桜]
| Engine [エンジン] Rating: 5/10 (Bought & Watched) This is probably the worst Kimura Takuya drama I've seen, but that still makes it a good drama. He's worth watching it for. Koyuki's part was airheaded and annoying. She was completely unlikeable. The racing storyline was shoved into the background in favour of the orphanage. Having said that, the orphanage kids are extremely cute, and the way Kimura sama interacts with them is adorable. The ending seemed sort of flat. In short, not a very well structured drama, but worth watching if you're a Kimura Takuya fan. |
Gift [ギフト]
| Gokusen [ごくせん] Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched) Much like GTO only funnier. Nakama Yukie abandons her usual air of beauty to play a complete geek. She is hilarious as Yankumi. Matsumoto Jun is a brilliant Sawada Shin, cool and reserved. Kuma the Bear is funny, and the other classmates played by Narimiya Hiroki, Oguri Shun and Ishigaki Yuma were fun to watch. The only bad point is that it gets a bit repetitive with students getting into trouble and Yankumi saving the day and making them learn how to have honour. | Gokusen Season 2 [ごくせん2]

Good Luck !! [グッドラック!!] Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched) Kimura Takuya was adorable as Co Pilot Shinkai, an idealistic young pilot who, although he may not be the most skilled, genuinely loves flying. Tsutsumi Shinichi was good as the "Cyborg" Captain Koda. Loved Shibasaki Kou as a female mechanic in a male-dominated profession and her reasons for choosing that career. Only bad point is Uchiyama Rina is ludicrously vapid and unlikeable in this! Probably my fave Jdorama of all time, though. | GTO [麻辣教師] Rating: 10/10 I LOVE Sorimachi Takashi, he is brilliant as Onizuka. If you were a fan of the manga first like me, you will not be disappointed. Matsushima Nanako was also good in this... Shun and Yousuke were cute too :) great storylines and 100% entertaining :) | Hana Yori Dango [花より男子] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Matsumoto Jun is an amazing actor. I read the Hana Yori Dango manga first, and when I heard Jun would be playing Doumyouji, I couldn't picture it. But Jun can bring manga characters to life straight off the page. His performance as Doumyouji was 100% entertainment from start to finish. Inoue Mao as Makino Tsukushi was gutsy and adorable. I also really like Oguri Shun and Matsuda Shota. This drama feels a little short and rushed, but it's definitely worth watching. (I should also mention crazy Sakurako and Okami san who bring great comic relief). ARIENAI ITSU NO (w) |

Kamisama mou sukoshi dake [神様、もう少しだけ]
| Kimi wa Petto [きみはペット] Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched) This was ADORABLE! Jun was perfect as Momo, Koyuki was really good at acting as a cold-hearted career woman who softens only around her "pet" I liked the ending too because it wasn't cliched. When I got this I wasn't sure that such a premise would work, but it turned out to be one of the most entertaining doramas I've seen :D | Kindaichi Shonen no Jikembo Season 3 [金田一少年の事件簿 3] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Suzuki An=very annoying. Plots weird and hard to follow. Only worth watching for MatsuJun. Who is always VERY VERY VERY worth watching. |
Kisarazu Cat's Eye [木更津キャッツアイ]
| Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003 [高校教師 2003] Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched) I really got to hate the teacher because of his "experiment" on Hina. Incredibly immoral. He wasn't likeable enough to pull it off as a result of his condition, so I wasn't able to conjure up any sympathy for him at all. Ueto Aya as Hina was just the right amount of vulnerable and adorable. Narimiya Hiroki was excellent as a young nightclub host who isn't what he seems, and I loved Sonim as the young schoolgirl he literally takes for a ride. | Kurosagi [クロサギ]

Kyousoukyoku [協奏曲]
| Long vacation [ロングバケーション] Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched) You can see why this drama is so popular. Yamaguchi Tomoko lights up the screen, and Kimura as the geeky piano teacher is adorable. Love the long conversations between Yamaguchi and Kimura. The writing of this drama is excellent. Matsu Takako and Takenouchi Yutaka also play good roles in this drama, a more refined Matsu and Yutaka as "Animal Shinji". I also have to mention Yamaguchi's model friend who is hilarious and great comic relief. | Love generation [ラブジェネレーション] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) You can't fail with a combination of Kimura Takuya and Matsu Takako. Although I got a bit seasick with their ups and downs, this is a genuinely fun drama. Teppei must decide between the girl he loved since high school, who is now engaged to his brother, and the headstrong Riko. |

| My Little Chef Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Yada Akiko came across as incredibly out of it in this drama! Aya chan was sweet as usual but she didn't have much to do. The food looked yummy. A fun drama. |
Nemureru mori [眠れる森]
| Nobuta wo Produce [野ブタ。をプロデュース] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) This is possibly my favourite drama ever! Basically a story of friendship. Kamenashi Kazuya as Kiritani Shuji was sweet and likeable. It's really interesting to watch how Shuji changes. Yamashita Tomohisa as Kusano Akira is great comic relief. I have to praise his acting skills, because Akira is a fantastic and hilarious performance. Horikita Maki is a beautiful girl who makes a sweet and funny Nobuta. I also like Toda Erika as Uehara Mariko. Nobuta Power, Chuu-nyuu! | Orange Days [オレンジデイズ] Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched) Really impressed with Shibasaki Kou's sign language in this drama and the amount of emotion she manages to convey without saying a word. Also love Tsumabuki Satoshi as the caring guy Kai, Eita as the geek, Narimiya Hiroki as the playboy-with a heart, and Sae's friend Akane-chan who was sweet. I watched this a year ago without subtitles and then again recently with subtitles which made a few things clearer. Really great drama. |
Pride [プライド] Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched) One of the best dramas I've ever seen. There's Takeuchi Yuko as this pretty, demure girl who is waiting for her fiance, and then there's Kimura Takuya as a hockey star who's said to be "as cold as ice". The two decide to be "temporary lovers with a contract". The hockey scenes were quite fun but not overdrawn, and the Queen soundtrack was brilliant and worked really well. | Slow Dance [スローダンス] (Bought) | Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi [空から降る一億の星] Rating: 10/10 This drama is wonderful. Mainly because of Kimura Takuya. This role is miles apart from the other roles he plays. He manages to be enigmatic, mysterious, menacing, childlike, goofy, frightening and manipulative. I also like Fukatsu Eri and LOVE Shibasaki Kou. Kan chan also grew on me. The plot was brilliant. |
Stand UP!! Rating: 10/10 This is just genius. You get 4 incredibly cute boys (Nari, Nino, Shun and Yamapi) a weird, quirky story about 4 Doutei boys trying to lose their virginity, and lots and lots of er... stuff to please the fangirls. I also liked how the ending wasn't contrived. It's practically a perfect drama. Also, Nino's acting is suteki. | Strawberry on the shortcake [ストロベリー・オンザ・ショートケーキ] Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched) I'm not sure there was much of a story to this, just a love triangle between a few people. Sometimes it felt pretty sinister. The cast was BRILLIANT... Takki, Rina, Kyoko, Yousuke... Worth watching this drama just to see these actors together. I thought the ABBA music theme worked well too. | Summer snow Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Tsuyoshi was brilliant and loveable, Ryoko chan was sweet, Tsubasa & Shun were great, & the girl who played Chika chan was cute. This story was funny, entertaining and touching. I was unhappy with the ending though, because I felt it was a nasty trick to play on people who had been investing in a built-up happy ending. |
