Beach boys [ビーチボーイズ] 12 episodes of summer, ocean and life... You simply live there, feel everything. One of my most favourite doramas ever. A heart-warming series. Not an ordinary one. The life is wonderful. That's it.
Jyoou no Kyoushitsu [女王の教室] I loved this series. Though at the beginning I couldn't understand how one can say "enjoy" about this dorama. I was scared of the 1st episode.
But it does have some very good ideas. The best dorama about school, teachers and students, that I've seen so far.
Kekkon Dekinai Otoko [結婚できない男] A very subtle comedy, unlike the usual "hyper-comedy" we're used to. Wonderful work done by actors and scriptwriters. Unforgettable characters. Unfolding an interesting character rather than attracting the audience with some twists of the plot. Definitely the best dorama of the season for me.
Kimi wa Petto [きみはペット] I really enjoyed the screenplay - the dialogs are sometimes just fabulous - so dynamic, witty and thoughtprovoking. It's a very positive show.
Kisarazu Cat's Eye [木更津キャッツアイ] Kudo Kankuro... That's it. I've waited almost two years before watching this dorama. But I don't regret it now. Because it' great when you're watching another masterpiece for the first time...
Manhattan Love Story [マンハッタン ラブストーリー] Kudo is a genious. Another masterpiece by the original scriptwriter. For me it's as good as his "Tiger and dragon".
Pride [プライド] Another example of invariably high-quality Kimura-film. The dialogs are energetic and expressive, the actors are great, the directing, cutting are as if of some full-length film.
It's just the best.
Tiger & Dragon [タイガー&ドラゴン] Loved it! So different from most doramas I've seen so far. Refreshing, witty, funny and at times touching. One of my most favourite doramas ever. I would recommend it to anyone, who wants to watch a good jdrama, but hates "all that love-stories".

Hirosue Ryoko [広末涼子] Saw her in a couple of doramas, but after Beach Boys fell in love with her. A wonderful actress! Charmless and talented.
Kuroki Hitomi [黒木瞳] A very pleasant, charming and feminine woman indeed. For me she represents an ideal japanese woman - calm, soft and wise. I enjoy watching her and like her acting skills - she looks very natural in all her roles.
Sorimachi Takashi [反町隆史] He made me delete my vote for Kimutaku and vote for him... That's enough already. Actually, I didn't like him, when first saw him on the role of Onizuka, whom I loved (anime character), but now I'm reconsidering my opinion... Want to watch more doramas with him!
Tsumabuki Satoshi [妻夫木聡] I saw him only in Orange days and liked him very much. In a way he differs from sometimes a bit feminine dorama guys. He is a professional actor - you don't doubt that. A charming personality.

Beach boys [ビーチボーイズ] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) A must see classics. The best atmosphere I've ever seen in a dorama. 12 episodes of summer, ocean, and friends. It simply shows that this ordinary life is wonderful. A heart-warming series with something to think about. One of my most favourite doramas ever.
Pride [プライド] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) I love the chemistry between Yuko Takeuchi and Kimutaku. That's the best one I've ever seen in doramas. And that was the first time I saw Takeuchi. Probably that's why I loved Pride. Though I understand, that the series itself is actually not that special...
Tiger & Dragon [タイガー&ドラゴン] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Watching at the moment, but this dorama has already almost got the title "the best one I've seen". A must see thing. Witty, funny, hilarious, absolutely unpredictable, unique, wise and philosophical at the same time. The dialogs are great, the actors did a superb job. Love the way the characters interact with each other.
Yes, it's true - after every episode, every new rakugo story you feel like standing up and clapping the teller.

Kimi wa Petto [きみはペット] I just love it... even knowing that it may not be [Rating: 10/10] Though I had tried to watch GTO before that, Kimi wa Petto was the first dorama I watched up to the end and that got me interested in Japanese tv-series.
Well, it's a bit difficult to talk about Kimi wa Petto. I understand pretty well, that it's not quite a masterpiece, that the plot may seem a bit unbelievable, that some people may criticize the actors. But... I still LOVE it. It's funny, touching and optimistic. It may not be very serious, but after every episode of the show you can't wait to watch the next one, and you are always in hight spirits.
So, it's one of those series, that just make you REALLY enjoy them, that touch some strings in your heart. And you don't really care, if this show is considered to be "high-quality tv-product" or not.
This is my peronal favourite dorama.
