Esumi Makiko [江角マキコ] Saw her first in Overtime, didn't really like her then. As I watch more of her, I find that she is classy, sophisticated and a great actress! The more you look at her the more you find her beautiful.
Fujiki Naohito [藤木直人] I love Fujiko Naohito, you should see him in High School Teacher 2003. His acting is awesome!
Kubozuka Yosuke [窪塚洋介] He stands out even when he is acting a supporting role. Has a style of his own.
Matsushima Nanako [松嶋菜々子] Not her fan but she is really a good and versatile actress. Her dramas are usually nice.
Sakai Noriko [酒井法子] She is so lovely, sweet, cute, can be soft can be strong, I like her very very much.
Aishiteiru to Ittekure [愛していると言ってくれ] not too bad [Rating: 7/10] what makes the show worthed watching is Sakaki's performance. He is simple excellent, so cool and has his own style. He is not exactly gorgeous looking but somehow he is attactive, charasmatic. Don't really like Tokiwa in this show, i think she tried too hard to act cute and lively. Her love for Sakaki is quite childish, or her character is childish in the show. I understand the frustration that will come in when you fall in love with a handicap, but you see, we are talking about Jdorama and so we expect "perfect love". Her love for him is shallow as compared to Die Sterntaler/Hoshi no kinka.
Antique [アンティーク〜西洋骨董洋菓子店] unique [Rating: 10/10] It's so unique and creative that it deserves a 10 rating, only the creative japanese can think of such a style. Because it is so different, not everyone can appreciate it. There are many funny moments but I am disappointed that it lacks romance. I was hoping naohito could be with that lady reporter, like the way she fell for him, quite romantic but then it just died off. The ending is confusing with those "interviews", but overall, I enjoy the show and would call it a gem.
Beach boys [ビーチボーイズ] Not the best, but should not be missed [Rating: 7/10] quite nice to watch, heartwarming, I will watch again just to see Yutaka.
Beautiful life [ビューティフルライフ] I am disappointed [Rating: 3/10] Personally I didn't find it fantastic. I watched it because everyone says it's good. In the end, I can't even bring myself to watch the middle part because I find it so boring. But I made myself watch the last two episodes. ok, she dies, suppose to be sad, but I feel that the director purposely make him make-up for her corpse just to make audiences cry. I like J Drama that have twists in the story plot, this one lacks it. If this drama is so popular becos of the actor, I can understand.
Dekichatta Kekkon [できちゃった結婚] Not bad, but not fantastic [Rating: 7/10] I watch it because of Takenouchi, not impressed by Hirosue, can't stand her voice breaking when she talks. Takenouchi is as usual, very cute and baby and charming. Certain parts are quite funny, like the ending very much especially when Take appeared at the hospital.
GTO [麻辣教師] Very very good! [Rating: 10/10] I am not a fan of Takashi but I enjoy the show very much. He acted very well and the whole show is hyper entertaining and delightful! I couldn't stop watching til the last vcd.
Hatsu Taiken [初体験] nice [Rating: 8/10] I like the show, it's light hearted and sweet. Like the dogs and cats too, kawaii! simply love naohito with his cat too, super kawaii!! The ending was nothing impressive, producer just trying very hard to put in some obstacle into their relationship. I like the beginning part though, all the way til she confesses her love.
Hoshi no kinka 1 [星の金貨] One of the Best! [Rating: 10/10] I love everything about this show, the plot the casts and even the cat. I love Yutaka, he appeared to be the "bad brother" at first but as you watch further, he is the selfless one (especially in part 2). One down side about him is when he raises his voice, his voice breaks easily. Everytimes he crys, I melt.
Hoshi no kinka Season 2 / Zoku hoshi no kinka [續。星の金貨] fantastic acting, too happening... [Rating: 9/10] I don't find the story slow, i find it too happening. The ending is not logical, suichi could have saved himself instead of rushing to the church. Aya was obviously willing to be with takumi again since she is willing to choose the rose again, but why did takumi let her go? But I love takumi, his love for her was so strong and his acting so touching that he made me cry a few times. I love Aya too. Suichi is not bad too but still, luckily it's not takumi who died. I told myself i would stop watching if Takumi had drowned in that scene. That was the most touching scene, Takumi wanted to sacrifice his life to save Aya on the boat, and he actually stood up.
Ikebukuro West Gate Park [池袋ウエストゲートパーク] creative [Rating: 7/10] A very creative drama, with unusual plot and good acting. Some parts are also funny. I should have rated it 9, but on a personal level, I did not enjoy watching the show because it is too bloody to my liking. I have a hard time finishing it. I also want to comment that Yosuke's acting is fantastic, he is a very versatile actor.
Itoshi Kimie [愛し君へ] very very touching and heart warming [Rating: 9/10] I love Naohito Fujiki, he never fail to make me love him more with his shows. what i want to say about this show had been said by other viewers here. I found the first two discs average, but started crying from the 3rd discs to the last 8th. I am so touched by Miho's love for him, i am also very touched when his mother said she wanted to donate her eyes to him. I also kinda like the rich girlfriend, i don't know if she could hang on as long as miho if Azumi had chosen her, but I admire her love too, don't you? and her dad's support... there is so much love in this show, and yet it is not the cheesy and overdoing type, just so natural....
Naohito's face a little sunken, please eat more and take care of yourself if you are reading this (fat hope i know.). But he is still my dashing naohito. Hope to see more good show from him.
Konna koi no hanashi [こんな恋のはなし] very touching [Rating: 8/10] very heartwarming, sad, bitter sweet... but I was surprised the ending was not very dramatically tear jerking, i was waiting to watch Hirashima die and cry my heart out. Sanada is very charming. The plot is one that will leave a deep impression. I watched it few years back and could still remember.
Koori no sekai [冰の世界] Fantastic Plot [Rating: 8/10] A very good detective story that keeps you guessing. Not a romantic show though, can't feel the love between them at all. But the suspense is good, though not a show that I would watch a second time.
Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003 [高校教師 2003] Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003 (High School Teacher 2003) [Rating: 10/10] I just finished watching and oh my! I would say this is the best J drama I have ever seen! The plot is fantastic, so many twists, not just a simple schoolgirl likes teacher stuff. I didn't expect it to be so good, I just wanted to watch Fujiki at first and gosh, his acting has improved so much, not just a pretty face.
he has a near fatal brain condition, a same one as the doctor's husband who had died. He is a poor sick guy who is struggling internally to face his illness, trying to achieve peace. oh my, i cried when i saw how hard he struggled to keep himself sane. And the cuts on his wrists, obviously he had tried to commit sucide several times.
He looked so cool on the outside but he is so miserable inside, til he met Uyeto Aya. Oh, and I am so touched by Uyeto too, she is so sweet! I love the scene with them in the theme park. Maybe I like Fujiki too much, I actually felt his pain in the show (or maybe his acting is really good!).
Long Love Letter [ロング・ラブレター〜漂流教室] wonderful drama [Rating: 9/10] I nearly didn't want to watch after reading the reviews here but luckily I didn't. I think it's exciting, touching, romantic, adventurous, gripping, I enjoyed watching the whole thing. You just want to keep watching to see what happens next, although I admit I don't like the ending, or rather, don't understand at all. But putting the ending aside, this is a rather profound show revealing human nature. And I simply love Yosuke, he has grown up and is so cute and charming. All the other casts are great too!
Long vacation [ロングバケーション] like it [Rating: 9/10] watched it very long time ago, I remember I enjoyed watching it very much, like it, like the ending too. Yutaka's eyes captured me, it was the first time I started to notice him although I saw him in other dramas.
Love generation [ラブジェネレーション] average story [Rating: 6/10] I would love the show if I am a fan of Kimura and Matsu. Since i am not, i could only comment on the plot, which I don't find anything special. Kimura and Matsu are cute, but there is no twist and climax to the story.
Love Revolution [ラブレボリューション] Over and over again..... [Rating: 10/10] This is a show I will watch over and over again, I have watched about 6 times already. ok ok, I admit I like Fujiki, but you must agree that the plot is good right? oh, i like Esumi too, she looks so beautiful in the show. Wow, I cried with her when Suga-san left (ah yes, I imagine myself to be her in the show, haha!).
For those who like Fujiki, do not miss high school teacher 2003. The plot is fantastic and....go and watch, I don't want to spoil it for you.
Majo no jouken [魔女の条件] Not bad [Rating: 8/10] The starting was very romantic, Hideaki was indeed a very pretty boy. I think the whole show will be even more touching if the producer had waited for Hideaki to grow up more before producing the show, he was afterall too too young to match with Nanako. Still, i can still feel the love between them, or at least his admiration for Nanako, not so much from Nanako. And definitely not as good as High School Teacher 2003 though.
Manatsu no Merry Christmas [真夏のメリークリスマス] *shakes head* [Rating: 2/10] I love yutaka but i can't bring myself to finish the show. Not his fault, it's the plot. It's so dry and dull and boring you name it. Yutaka shouldn't have taken up this drama.
Mouichido kisu [もう一度キス] *shakes head* [Rating: 1/10] I don't know if i am being fair, but I only watched for 20 mins and I couldn't continue. I think Yosuke is a good actor, but it's just so horrible to watch. It must be the plot. It seems to be a plot without plot.
Over Time [オーバー・タイム] Not bad, must watch. [Rating: 8/10] I like the part when he is making the decision, the suspense the audience feel when you don't know which one he is going to meet, that part is great, it makes you suck in your breathe and you can even feel the great internal struggle and love between the characters....ah, this is the kind of J drama I like, the climax and high at the end.
Risou no kekkon [理想の結婚] Hilarious but no twist [Rating: 6/10] Quite fun to watch but not a show I will watch a second time. Not romantic at all because there is no development of feelings, they just got together just like that. And they quarreled and got back together, I can't feel their love at all. There are a number of funny parts but don't expect to be touched.
Seikimatsu no uta [世紀末の詩] A very meaningful drama [Rating: 8/10] There are altogether about 11 to 12 different stories in this drama. I don't claim to understand all of them but those I understood I find them very very meaningful. These stories discuss the true meaning of love, how feelings could change due to circumstanaces, so is there true love such that it won't change with time or will washing the toilet and doing daily chores affect it?
I like the one on clone best, it is sooo meaningful. There are much to ponder about. But of course, this is defintely not a drama for everyone.
Strawberry on the shortcake [ストロベリー・オンザ・ショートケーキ] Not bad! [Rating: 8/10] Watched a long time ago but still have impression. Strong chemistry between the casts, I think Yusoke stands out in the show since I can remember him more than Takky. Yusoke is really very cool, he has his own style. Takky is very handsome but he is not that versatile, expression more or less the same. Kyoko looks sweet but sometimes I find her act cute.
Taiyou wa shizumanai Very good story line [Rating: 8/10] Strong plot, Takky is very good looking and acted very well. The story should do away the relationship between takizawa and yasuko , I can't feel their chemistry at all, don't even feel that Takky likes her, or they should change yasuko to someone prettier, it won't do with the guy looking so much prettier than the girl. It's a must watch for Takky's fans.
Time Limit [タイムリミット] thrilling [Rating: 8/10] I enjoyed watching it, i would say it is a pretty good standard movie (is it a movie? i don't know). Yutaka acted well.
Virgin Road [バージンロード] Good! [Rating: 8/10] Pretty good storyline, some twists in it and also quite touching. Sorimachi is very handsome in this show.
With love Must watch....if you like Takenouchi [Rating: 8/10] I didn't like it when I watch it a bit here and there on TV the first time, I didn't even like Takenouchi that time. And then I watched it the second time, this time in mandarin on SCV, and started to be a bit interested, because the letters are read out it mandarin and I didn't need to spend so much effort reading the subtitle.
And I started to be captivated by Takenouchi. But due to some reason I didn't get to watch the last epidsode, and for a long time this show was always on my mind. Finally I bought the VCD, watched it alone all over and gosh! I realise if you really follow the whole show you can feel how the love between them develop. Of course, to have the patience you must be someone who likes Takenouchi. If you like him, my! you will enjoy this show, very much.
This is a show I will watch over and over again. Well, I admit it's because of Takenouchi, I adore him!
Yankee Bokou ni Kaeru [ヤンキー母校に帰る] trying too hard to be touching. [Rating: 4/10] not nice, don't like it, lousy as compared to GTO. not natural, tyring too hard to be touching.
