101 Kaime no Puropozu [101回目のプロポーズ] Timeless classic [Rating: 10/10] One of the most defining drama of the '90s. One of my favorite drama of all time!
Attack No.1 [アタック No.1] Great twist, great sports dorama [Rating: 8/10] Though some of the characters (including Kozue and Midori) were incredibly annoying, this series offers excitement with each episode. One unexpected event after another, the uevil bearded coachv's real plans are unveiled.
Great series!
Engine [エンジン] Slow start, solid finish [Rating: 7/10] I found first half of this dorama to be very boring. There was way too much cheesy interaction with the kids, and way too little racing. Last 3 laps were very touching, and at the same time, very exciting. It would've been a very good drama if not for mediocre episodes 2~8.
Though Kimura and a few kids put up great performance, other supporting actors were terrible, and Engine did not live up to its hype. Humming while racing make this series look like a cheaper version of Driven. It's an OK series, but you would probably expect something better from a dorama starring Kimura Takuya.
Koi ni Ochitara ~Boku no Seikou no Himitsu~ [恋におちたら〜僕の成功の秘密〜] Impressive [Rating: 10/10] Great acting by Kusanagi Tsuyoshi (SMAP), Tsunami Shinichi (Good Luck!!), Tanihara Shosuke (Gokusen 2), and other powerful casts, along with exceptional sound, camerawork, and a great story with one twist after another in second half of the series certainly makes this the best dorama of Spring '05.
"It's written Island's Shima, and Otoko", change in Shimao's character is excellently portrayed by Kusanagi Tsuyoshi.
This dorama is certainly a must see.
Magari Kado no Kanojyo [曲がり角の彼女] Great romantic comedy [Rating: 9/10] Very funny dorama. The story progress smoothly, with a few very touching scenes. Inamori Izumi and Shaku Yumiko's performance is great.
Shela's theme song is very fitting for this series.
