| 1. | Not too shabby, but no surprises though [Rating: 7/10] This is just an average drama about some people in a vacation resort. The usual stuff happen: conflicts, challenges, obstacles, and so on. There's no spark between any of the characters, and the drama is a bit slow. I can however, feel that the writers were really trying to convey some life lessons in there, and convey them through events that happen and the people in there that resolve the issues. I felt this a lot more than the other dramas. They didn't have any big cliffhanger endings at the end of each episode, and there wasn't an ultimate showdown to anything, so don't expect things to get heavy in this drama. | Reviewed by Hiro Toyo on 26 January 2004 | 2. | Great Drama [Rating: 10/10] Personally, I loved this drama. Its great to see a relatively normal drama, and its great to see Abe Hiroshi and Takeuchi Yuko play normal charachters. I enjoyed seeing the interaction between the two. As said in the other reviews, the story is pretty typical. In each of the episodes, there is a life lesson to be learned. This the kind of drama that lets you relax and watch the story unfold. No suspense, but very reasuring. You let the main actors lead you through the story in their very skillful ways, with them reasuring you all the way. My kind of drama. | Reviewed by yukster on 27 March 2006 | 3. | An average comedy drama [Rating: 7/10] This is just your average comedy drama. Not great, despite the very good lead cast, not bad, despite the lack of big surprises. You won't laugh very hard but it will make you smile, it won't make you cry but it is never too cheesy, it will not leave you hanging at the end of each episode but you will gladly move to the next one.
All in all, a good watch if you don't have high expectations, and as usual Abe Hiroshi and Takeuchi Yuko are perfect. They would have deserved a better script though. | Reviewed by Jackykero on 23 January 2008 | 4. | OK Lighthearted Workplace Drama/Comedy [Rating: 7/10] This is a decent, but not great drama. Both Abe Hiroshi and Yuko Takeuchi are very good, as usual. However, the story is flimsy, there is just not much there. At times, it seems like they were going to make it a love story between the two main actors, but that goes nowhere. Enjoyable enough while you are watching it, but forgettable once it's over. A few laughs, but not really a comedy either. I think this was more about two people searching for what will make them happy, I guess? | Reviewed by bettebogart on 7 November 2008 | 5. | Pretty good, thanks to its star [Rating: 7/10] In many ways typical, star power pushes this drama up several notches. Takeuchi in particular is cute and energetic; she tries so hard that it's difficult not to pay attention, though at times her wacky reaction shots are a bit much. But the series excels emotionally - thanks to her - so you're willing to forgive small excesses. | Reviewed by jdoramadotcom on 16 December 2007 | 6. | The Best Part? The ending credits! [Rating: 7/10] Lack the normal 'peaks' of JDorama. Supporting roles didn't help either. Unless you're hardcore fan of Yuko, might not rank that high up on Dramas to watch.
I for one, liked her smile very much. Therefore, the ending credits is the best parts! She's playing baseball! for crying out loud. {My personal opinion only} | Reviewed by tiesw on 24 March 2005 | 7. | Not a stand out but good. [Rating: 8/10] Takeuchi and Abe were great in this but then again they are great in everything I have seen them and (and that is a lot of stuff). It's not an outstanding drama but it has it's moments and the story line is fairly nice it just really lacks a strong identity. Worth checking out though. | Reviewed by MonsterZero-65 on 26 October 2009 | 8. | Could have been great, wasn't it for the end... [Rating: 7/10] Imho this dorama had all it needed to be a great one: two great leads (Takeuchi & Abe), a good supporting cast, some great lines, an interesting story (and as someone already noticed, great ending credits, LOL), but they screwed it up with the way it ended, unfortunately...=__= | Reviewed by pash on 25 August 2011 | 9. | Yuko will put an egao on your face [Rating: 7/10] Abe Hiroshi looks a bit awkward in this drama. Takeuchi Yuko, on the other hand, is perfect as the little sister who always thinks of others. But the series takes a while to turn you on, and the overacting of some characters gets really annoying. | Reviewed by shari on 21 December 2006 | 10. | Pleasent [Rating: 8/10] A pleasant drama. I wanted a little more romance than what was in the show but I enjoyed it enough. I ended up seeing it twice actually and it's decent enough. | Reviewed by MonsterZero65 on 16 August 2010 | 11. | Great performance by Takeuchi Yuko! [Rating: 8/10] Love this drama - Takeuchi Yuko is SUPER! She just shines and beams in this show. | 1. | Comments by magnifikat [Rating: 8/10] so far the show has been super cute. i am only about four episodes from completion and super curious to see how it will end! the show reminds me alot of hokier romantic love dromedies. still, i cannot help but to love all the hoky bits and how cute and enthusiastic yumi is. even with the hoky corny bits, there is still alot of intense emotional scenes and some very heavy philisophical moments. the creators of the show seem to try and keep it really well rounded, and i definitely enjoy all of their efforts. so far it is a really good show that is totally worthwhile. however, it just seems to be missing a little something. | 2. | Comments by jdfan [Rating: 7/10] The story line is quite routine but Takeuchi Yuko and Abe Hiroshi did a good job. This show exposed the changing culture in Japan where there are differences in traditional and modern way of like. There were some moving scenes and I enjoyed it. I hope Yuko picks up better scripts/projects next time. Ah...I still remember her top notch performances in Muko-Dono and Shiroi Kage (White Shadow)!! This show really didn't give her enough chance to show her stuff. She has one of the sweetest smile in the business. | 3. | Comments by Susan [Rating: 9/10] The only thing that bothered me about this series was how overly emotional Yumi (Takeuchi Yuko) could get, although she was portrayed well by the actress. My favorite character in this series was Okami-san, of course. Nogiwa Yoko was simply wonderful in her role in this series. She really is an amazing actress. Overall a fantastic series that, despite it's simplicity and straightforward storytelling, really drew me in from the beginning. I do wonder, though, if "Gekka no Michi" was a real comic book series... | 4. | Comments by Szabotage [Rating: 8/10] This was a fun drama. Yuko Takeuchi was really appealing as the heroine who gets to basically wrangle a manga artist to finish his latest work at some out-of-the-way onsen. Takanori Jinnai overacts horribly as her brother, who works there as the chef. Hiroshi Abe is great as the manga artist, with whom she develops a creative rapport. There are some good moments between the very modern Yuko and the traditional onsen-owner. I would have liked to have seen more romance, though! | 5. | Comments by yume [Rating: 3/10] Obviously, I am an Abe Hiroshi fan, but I don't think this role challenged him in any new way. And to see Takeuchi Yuko play the same character YET again made me angry. The story is predictable, and the stories only GET WORSE as the drama progresses with no feeling of closure or a point at all. Ending in a handshake with Takeuchi and Abe, I have no clue what to think about this dud of a drama. | 6. | Comments by kaonashi [Rating: 8/10] Actually, I don't think this drama was that bad, it had a decent plot & it's lighthearted & funny. Maybe some emotional scenes could've been more powerful & there were indeed some massive overacting from some supporting actors. But the leads were good & had ok chemistry. Overall, this drama's not original in any way, but still slightly above average. | 7. | Comments by subaruppi [Rating: 8/10] Storywise, it was touching. One of those motivational dramas. I loved the ending song - sung by Shibasaki Kou, and moreover, I just love Takeuchi Yuuko and Abe Hiroshi together in this. Nogiwa Youko is excellent as the okami-san, as always. About the only complaint I have about this drama is that Jinnai Takanori is annoying as hell at times. >_< | 8. | Comments by masnita [Rating: 8/10] Yuko-chan is soo kawaii in this drama and Abe is soo kakkoii....the storyline was quite interesting ....when traditional values meet with modern views..and how people from each generation tried to come to an understanding of each other...but wish there are more romance between the two main lead...so cute together regardless of the age differences. | 9. | Comments by K.T.Tran [Rating: 9/10] A great drama. Yuko and Abe make a great team. Got lots of laughs out of this drama. It started out fast and great in the beginning, slowed down a bit in the middle for 1 to 2 eps, but picked up strong again. If it stayed strong all the way through, it would've earned a 10 from me. Yuko really does have a great smile. | 10. | Comments by Tu_triky [Rating: 7/10] An average drama with few, if any surprises. Good chemistry b/n Abe Hiroshi & Yuko Takeuchi made it enjoyable, but the supporting cast members did not add to the depth of the plot in an particularly meaningful way. Little intense drama, populated with more moments of laughter than anything. | 11. | Comments by Ezalor [Rating: 6/10] I managed it to get through, somehow. There really happens NOTHING in this series, it looks like it was build only to impose the smiling face of the main actress as much as possible. Abe Hiroshi diappointed me somehow; he did what he as supposed to, but there was nothing of his typical humour. | 12. | Comments by pash [Rating: 7/10] This dorama had all it needed to be a great one: two great leads (Takeuchi & Abe), a good supporting cast, some great lines, an interesting story (and as someone already noticed, great ending credits, LOL), but imho they screwed it up with the ending, unfortunately...=__= | 13. | Comments by DragonSpirit164 [Rating: 5/10] Oh...so....very..slow...drama... I feel that this is quite dull actually... Currently on the 3rd disc and struggling, even though Takeuchi Yuko is starring... Will give this a break for a moment and I will write some proper comments once I finish this... | 14. | Comments by SushiMaki [Rating: 5/10] I'm a Yuko fan since Lunch Queen. It's always a curiousity when you don't dwell love stories all the time. I kept on waiting though if a spark will occur between Yuko and her boss Hiroshi. Maybe the writers were too worried that he is too old for her. | 15. | Comments by tabana [Rating: 7/10] A slow drama. Takeuchi Yuko and Abe Hiroshi are good, but the main story is slow and not that good. Also, the secondary plots sucks and the characters lack charisma.
I don't know if Nishijima Hidetoshi is a bad actor, but in this he sucks bug time. | 16. | Comments by heimu [Rating: 9/10] *SPOILERS*
For all the hype in the dorama and getting those kind of endings, it's kind of a turn off. But overall the story really gave us important lessons in life which I felt still good enough. ;)
Yuko is stunning nonetheless. | 17. | Comments by Spider [Rating: 8/10] Started a bit slow but I ended up really enjoying this drama. The brother-in-law overacts a bit too much for my taste but this is an overall good drama with Abe Hiroshi and Takenchi Yuko who to me is the Meg Ryan of Japan. | 18. | Comments by hitomi #1 [Rating: 5/10] Only have watched the 1st few episodes, Abe is a little subdued, Yuko still has the best smile ever, hopefully by the end can increase the rating. Made it to episode 5, couln't finish, disappointing considering the cast. | 19. | Comments by IniQx [Rating: 8/10] Goldfish - that's what Takeuchi Yuko is referred to by Abe Hiroshi in the show but I don't see the resemblance anywhere near. A very up-lifting drama. Yuko's never-say-die spirit is very encouraging for all. | 20. | Comments by oldasianguy [Rating: 7/10] Takguchi Yuko and Abe Hiroshi are two pretty big stars in Japan but they don't have enough material to make this show a success...it's a nice show but nothing to get excited about...average boring show... | 21. | Comments by hikaruhana [Rating: 8/10] Sweet! Great chemistry between the leads and a nice setting (who can beat an Izu onsen town for scenery?). Entertaining comedy. Loved Nogiwa Yoko as the stern but secretly very thoughtful okami-san. | 22. | Comments by ct_subang [Rating: 5/10] i loved yuko in this drama...she's bubbly-shii,kawaii-shii...n energytic..reminds me of her role in lunch no jooo...the story however is kinda dull but great to see Abe in a different role... | 23. | Comments by xxhiroxx [Rating: 10/10] Awesome drama. Hilarious, touching, sweet, and exciting all at the same time. Abe Hiroshi, Takeuchi Yuko, and Nogiwa Yuko did an awesome job in portraying their characters! | 24. | Comments by williu [Rating: 7/10] Not bad, but not very good either. A solid driving force is missing, and the storyline just never gets under your skin. It's a nice drama, but unfortunately nothing else. | 25. | Comments by ReD [Rating: 8/10] Best..klaka...tapi just menceritakan pasal MANGAKA yang tinggal kat kolam air panas sebab nak siapkan manga dia.pastu amik yuko sebagai pembantu dia.Bukan kisah cinta. | 26. | Comments by oyaduras [Rating: 9/10] Takeuchi Yuko plays an assistant to Hiroshi Abe. Very comical characters in this drama, and the setting is in a traditional Japaneese style resort. beautiful. | 27. | Comments by kitakaze [Rating: 7/10] Entertaining...and it has one of my favorite J-actors in it. And it's about a manga artist in hiding. Oh...Yuko's pretty cute too. | 28. | Comments by Jackykero [Rating: 7/10] The average comedy. Perfect acting of the 2 leads but a bit too conventional storyline - and maybe a lack of some romance too :-) | 29. | Comments by Surpur [Rating: 9/10] Love this drama - Takeuchi Yuko is SUPER!
She just shines and beams in this show. Abe Hiroshi in one of his best performances. | 30. | Comments by maguro666 [Rating: 8/10] Just love Yuko!! She is lovely and cute!!!! She is soul of this drama. Abe Hiroshi is actually surprisingly good looking... |

1. | xxhiroxx Touching, funny, sweet, and exciting all at the same time. One can learn much by watching the characters grow and heed the teachings of Okamisan Misako. The actors and actress all did an excellent job in portraying their characters, too. | 2. | z_dane kireina ongna ga iru kara | 3. | richemon25 | 4. | cutehinano | 5. | angiemakino | 6. | kitakaze |
