|---|
Kenichi (Joe), a young, good-hearted doctor, suffers from a rare syndrome whereby his feelings cannot be hidden => such people are known as "satorare" and their well-being come under special government protection.
As all the young doctor's thoughts/feelings are always heard by hospital colleagues, this creates much inconvenience to them and they try to drive him away. In steps a beautiful female doctor (Mayu) who tries to shield him from the cruel reality of his uniqueness. As a result, Kenichi falls in love with her and his feelings are broadcast through his thoughts to everyone around him. | | primetime |

This drama was perfect. I love the chemistry between joe odagiri and mayu tsuruta.
my favorite parts/scenes (random order):
* when yoshikawa is operating "incorrectly" and everyone hears kenichi's (odagiri) brilliant operation procedure yet no one is acting upon it, hoshino (tsuruta) takes a stand by putting herself out there and acting upon it (even if she had to lie, which would've led to her being fired/terminated)
*when kenichi and hoshino bump into hoshino's arrogant ex and kenichi is playing the part of her fiance. I like that even though the ex can hear kenichi's thoughts and knows that kenichi is only pretending, tsuruta still goes along with it (though humiliating and embarassing) to keep kenichi from finding out he's a satorare. It shows how unselfish they both are and how much one is willing to go for the other one.
*when kenichi gives the hamster gift to hoshino and discovers he really is in love with her (pool scene) -hoshino is his first real friend
*when he's operating on his mother. His first operation ever, which sparked the other patients demanding he operate on them ( finally success and recognition long overdue)
*when kenichi (odagiri) discovers that he's a satorare and is waaay embarassed..he's about to jump off the roof and hoshino (tsuruta) yells out embarassing things/secrets about herself that no one can be proud of. It shows that she deeply cares for him that she too, can relate. I like that she does not give a damn who's listening
*towards the ending when uno kando (satorare guard/FBI type agent) calls up hoshino to let her know that kenichi is leaving for the deserted island early (not ten o clock) and she chases after the car
*once hoshino catches up to the car, kenichi can't seem to say "i love you" out loud, but she hears his loud thoughts (i love you more than anyone)
*the ending when the whole hospital staff shows up for him and are ready to move to the deserted island with him.
*final scene which mirrors the first scene when they are walking in the rain with the umbrella he gave her in the first scene (when they didn't know each other)
the whole movie overall just has SOO many great parts, and the chemistry is consistent throughout each episode. The hospital staff is hilarious and the fbi satorare guards do a fantastic job as well.

Satorare, for me, was one of those dramas that I became instantly addicted to. So much so, that I watched the entire thing in one night. The qualities that attracted me were the interesting and unique plot, and the cast.
The storyline is rather silly, but because it was different it was highly entertaining. I liked the concept and how it made me wonder what I would do if I was a Satorare. I also liked how it opened up a lot of comedic opportunities and also a lot of cute interactions between those around the Satorare. There were a lot of glitches in the plot and at the end I found the last two episodes a bit repetitive and over the top (i.e. the entire situation with the mother). However, the corny ending aside, I still enjoyed the drama emensly.
There�fs not much I can say about Odagiri Joe except that he�fs absolutely brilliant. He really gives himself 100% to all his roles and this one was no exception. This was my first drama with Tsuruta Mayu and she really left an impression on me. She isn�ft, in my opinion, a strong beauty. But she was great in this role and she has a quality about her that really draws you in.

I think this drama is worth watching simply because they had a great concept to begin with, and they milked it for all its worth. They pretty much exhausted every possibly regarding the topic of his thoughts being heard by everyone. Nevermind it being unrealistic, I enjoyed it just because it is supposed to be entertaining, and that's exactly what it did: entertained the idea of a person whose thoughts can be heard by people around him. There is of course a message to be conveyed, and positive human traits are expressed here.
The characters are great in here, and best of all, the story is smooth, but I have come to expect that out of these dramas anyway. Satorare is founded on the improbable concept that the main character, a perceptive doctor, is a satorare - his inner voice is so loud that everyone can hear him. For some reason, the people at work and at home are too sensitive to let him know of his problem - an ability that purportedly affects one of every ten mission people. The main entertainment derives from everyone knowing his thoughts are being heard - except him.
The concept is thin, but it's also unusually entertaining - a story about eavesdropping, in reverse. You're more than willing to forgive the story's basic improbability so that you can enjoy the comic consequences. This was the first drama I ever watched. I loved it so much that it "broke" me into the drama scene. Coming into this drama I thought this is just another one of those crazy concepts the Japanese make up like battle chefs or those crazy games shows.You can always count on the Japanese to come up with unique concepts for their dramas. This is a very unique and entertaining concept. Once in awhile you need something diffrent form the usual love story drama.

PERFECT 10!! I've never seen such a harmonious balance between the good, the bad, the ugly, the mushy, the realist and the optimist. I loved it soo much i almost wished i was part of the cast!!! Odagiri Joe does a fine job in his portrayal of an emotionally immature, involuntary telepath who is continuously sheltered from the truth about himself. Much of the series is rather predictable and often a bit too sugary towards the end however. Loved the drama.
Loved the part where he operates on his mother to cure her cancer only to find out it's too late. The suddenly slience moment had so much feel in it.

I'll be honest: I wasn't interested enough to finish this one. It's not that it isn't good, and I might go back someday and watch the last half (I watched episodes 1-5). I've noticed that I'm not really into supernatural dorama, which might also be part of it. Satorare isn't super science fictiony or anything, the only "weird" part is that everyone can hear what the satorare is thinking, and he doesn't realize it. But the agency designed to keep the satorare from knowing what he is and all the conspiracy around that... I don't know. I prefer slice-of-life dorama much more.

Really interesting! The premise for this drama is super original, unlike anything I've personally seen or read before. The concept of satorare is fascinating really, and it was able to put a unique spin on everything, transforming plot devices that may have otherwise been cliche into hysterical, laugh-out-loud situations. Also I think the relationship between the two main characters was developed well and was pretty believable considering the circumstances - good chemistry. My only real complaint is that the ending felt kind of rushed, which seems to be a common problem with dramas... This dorama is, although it has some weak points, very entertaining. I somehow liked the characters, even though they're not really heroic or anything, but they were very "human". The main character, played by Joe Odagiri whom I quite adore, is quite a whiny character at a lot of situations, trying to be more self-dependent, but is very much a mommy's boy. But still he's really cute in a lot of situations, which is when I really adore the dorama. All in all, this dorama has a real nice variety of characters that make it fun to watch. What a dorama!!!
The story is very unique and the way it�s done is wonderful. Satorare is very funny and on the other side pretty sad sometimes. For example, when the satorare tries to hide something and just can�t. Especially in the second episode i couldn�t hold my tears. And the "hidden" reactions from the other doctors, when he "thinks" the truth about them are just hilarious. i almost fell from my couch laughing. And i really fell in love with Tsuruta Mayu. What a woman!!!

I just can't help falling in love with this drama. It's so hilarious. I really feel sorry for Dr. "Satorare", Kenichi Satomi. I can't imagine what would I do if someday I found out that I'm a "satorare" :p Nice performance from Joe Odagiri(my love & respect for him grow deeper and deeper day by day...). wonderful! The theme song of Glay is also great. This drama is unique. a.k.a Transparent..an interesting plot.Never heard this type of people is really exist in this reality..Is it true?? Finally finished this series more than a year after I watched the first 7 epsiodes. I liked the first episode a lot, but afterwards, it was much sillier than I wished, hence the 1 year pause. The ending, even though not original, was well handled and made me think and smile. Overall an enjoyable series. The cast worked well together to create a very likeable drama.
