April 1999
Yutaro Minagawa had always been smart and called a child prodigy. When he successfully passes the entrance exam for a prestigious medical school, the Minagawa family is filled with joy. Meanwhile, his elder sister Hiroko - no brains, great looks - wins a beauty pageant and gets engaged to a man who works at an advertisement agency. In Miyazaki Prefecture, Yutaro's father's sho-chu liquor has received several awards, and is now expanding business. Everything was going so smooth with the Minagawa family until one incident drops the family into the depths of misery...
October 2005
Yutaro opens the door of his apartment to find someone standing there. It's his sister Hiroko, who he hadn't contacted in years. Seeing all of her luggage, it's obvious that she has left home. Yutaro gives her a disgusted look, but Hiroko doesn't seem to care. She says she wants to stay with him for a while.
When they finally settle down, Hiroko gives Yutaro the update on the Minagawa family. Their father was ripped off and lost his sho-chu brewery. What's worse, he fell sick and passed away. While Yutaro is taking all of this in, he is panicking on the inside, but pretends to act strong.
The following day, Hiroko visits the hospital Yutaro works at. While Yutaro is very unkind to her, his colleagues notice Hiroko right away and everybody in the Medical Department is talking about her. Yutaro's mentor, Dr. Takeda, is especially interested in Hiroko. He finds out that the beautiful girl he spotted on the plane he boarded after a conference in Miyazaki was Yutaro's sister. He believes that it's fate that they met again.
Meanwhile, Hiroko heads to a job interview at a night club. She has never worked at such a place, but her stunning looks and bright personality catches the manager's eye, and she is hired on the spot. From her first day at work, the customers love Hiroko, and gets requested for from table to table. Saori, the top hostess at the club until Hiroko came along is not amused.
Nobody knows the real reason that Hiroko is working at the night club... | Fuji TV |

| 1. | Light and fun! [Rating: 7/10] What a delightful drama! Of course, the plot is a little ridiculous, and many actions/reactions made by the characters are far too unrealistic, but these are all forgivable! This drama is light, fluffy, and fun to watch. Itoh Misaki is annoying and unreal, but funny and lovable | exactly what her character should be! Moriyama Mirai is a depressing littlec well, you knowc and hefs exactly what his character should be as well. The casting is perfect (if nothing else is) for every single character.
I wouldnft call this a memorable drama, and I may never watch it again, but I had a blast while watching it. Itfs not bad and serves as a great break from all the other dramatic shows out there. I recommend it to anyone whofs feeling a lull in their drama-watching experience and needs something to watch that isnft heavy on the brain. | Reviewed by Wynter on 4 March 2007 | 2. | Moriyama & Itoh Cute Sibling Combination [Rating: 6/10] At first I didn't find this drama to be..."special" since it's hard to see Itoh Misaki be peppy like that. I saw her in Beauty 7 and it's a ocmpletely different character to play. Though as the story progressed it did get funnier and you get used to Moriyama and Itoh being siblings.
I suggest this for those that look for a casual calm drama and don't mind some of the love that goes on. Oh but I REALLY don't like Eikura Nana, she bugs me, she's not a very good actress, she just is pretty....but that's my opinion. Watch this and judge for yourself. | Reviewed by Kirari Ililah on 14 April 2006 | 3. | Good so far! [Rating: 9/10] This drama seems so good so far! Interesting story between a brother and sister, with the sister(misaki) working as a hostess to earn money for her brother who goes to med school. Misaki is just TOO HOT... she could be the ultimate hostess. Just too bad i never run into a hostess that looks like her when i go to Tokyo, or new york... (;_;) junker is right too, the title should be, Kiken na Aneki . | Reviewed by fighterpilot on 24 October 2005 | 4. | Worst of Misaki's drama [Rating: 4/10] Her character is really100x...... annoying, I can't stand it.
how can she being adored by people around her, she is really100x.. stupid and illogical. what funny about this show?!, its piece of s**t...really.
the other cast also act redicilous, how can a real human being like that. I think it only happen in anime, but to bring this kind of redicilous story to drama.. its the worst... | Reviewed by Steve on 10 May 2007 | 5. | Fun but... [Rating: 8/10] This was kind of a fun drama but not really so great. I like Itoh Misaki and the rest of the cast but this drama never really made a serious attempt to be good. The story line was loose and moments that could have been dramatic, funny or exciting simply never really came together like they should have. Still worth seeing if you have free time. | Reviewed by MonsterZero65 on 26 August 2010 | 6. | Fun and Colorful. Especially Itoh-san! [Rating: 8/10] Wanna cheer up your day? Watch this! Oh, and I must say that Miyama Karen as Minagawa Mami (the girl who was their relative looking for her father in tokyo) is REALLY something else! Now I remember why she was awesome in Hotman! And boy, they're totally like sisters :) | Reviewed by elfgeek on 1 May 2008 | 7. | Mildly amusing Drama [Rating: 8/10] I found this drama slightly less enjoyable than Hotman. However initially it's quite amusing watching Itoh and her Cheery shelf. however after awhile the brother's stubborness gets really annoying and it all goes downhill. | Reviewed by zoglog on 6 September 2006 | 8. | Ito Misaki makes it [Rating: 9/10] Had this been any other actress it wouldn't have been as good. Alot of comedy mixed in with a rather light drama making for some pleasant easy viewing.

| 1. | Comments by Sorata [Rating: 5/10] I canLt believe i have to rate 5 a dorama with 3 of my favorite actors(Itoh Misaki, Hiraoka Yuta and Shaku Yumiko), but even their presence wasnLt able to save this dorama for me.
The thing is that every episode is the same: Hiroko(Itoh Misaki) does something that pisses off his brother, Yutaro(Moriyama Mirai), but at the end of the episode he starts to warm up to his sister and end up by her side...now you have 11 episodes of this, with cheesy comedy and a complete lack o sub-plot. There was the thing about Saori(Shaku Yumiko) and Takumi(Hiraoka Yuta) but both characters only have like 4 minutes of screen time in each episode(and iLm being generous).
I love Itoh Misaki but her character was super annoying, i was really getting tired of her.
Anyway this is suposed to be a light comedy but i didnt find it any funny, maybe itLs not my kind of comedy. | 2. | Comments by donna8157 [Rating: 7/10] A drama about a young woman, Hiroko, who moves in with her younger brother who is currently studyng medicine at a prestigious school while doing residency. In order to help with the bills and such, Hiroko finds work at a night club where she has to accompany men. This drama has a few touching moments, but mainly revolves around the fact that Itoh Misaki is beautiful. Throughout the drama there are at least five or six men gawking at her including the old doctor who thinks he even has a chance with her.
The plotline is not that great and Hiroko's character is more of a ditzy, free-spirited, and kind woman almost similar to Itoh Misaki's character from "Tiger and Dragon". It's a cute drama though so far it hasn't impressed me too much. I would recommend this series for fans of Itoh Misaki. | 3. | Comments by DragonSpirit164 [Rating: 7/10] Hmm... what can I say. I like Misaki Ito. A very different character portrayed to the one from her Densha Otoko days. In fact almost total opposites. A good drama if you want to see Misaki Ito's acting range. About the storyline, it was nothing too special but that's not to say it was dull either. I enjoyed it throughout. Shaku Yumiko is another big reason to see this drama. Very very attractive performance. | 4. | Comments by g_hunter1 [Rating: 8/10] A funny comedy about a brother and sister relationship. The drama deals with a family that had nothing but good fortune at first but quickly ended in a downward spiral. There's a theme sent through out the whole drama about "It's is better to do something and failing than to do nothing at all." There are some tough choices these characters go through. All in all, it is just light-hearted entertainment. | 5. | Comments by geezbee [Rating: 7/10] Ai yai yai...I had high expectations for this drama..but in the end, it was disapointing. Yup, it was entertaining in some areas and funny as well (esp the supporting cast: the doctor and Itoh's frd). But ultimately the male lead (Mirai) outshown Itoh Misaki in this drama. I think she is just not suitable for this character... | 6. | Comments by K.T.Tran [Rating: 10/10] I liked this a lot. It was funny. The cast worked well together. Misaki and Mirai make a great pair when working in dramas together I think. Those just finishing Misaki in Densha Otoko shouldn't go straight into watching her in this. Her character in this is just completely different from Hermes. Just a heads up. | 7. | Comments by Fight-oh [Rating: 10/10] Though i did not watch most of this show, i found out that it is mainly about a sister and her brother who live in a house and try to live out the good times with their dad.. Their mother on the other hand left them and they must now gather the pieces and live on a good and peacefull life without their mom... | 8. | Comments by IniQx [Rating: 7/10] A light-hearted drama not considered entirely comedy but rather funny. I think Hiroko is way too innocent & happy-go-lucky. So much so that I can I understand how irritated her brother is. Nonetheless, a drama for easy viewing if you are ready to accept some spastic factors in the show. | 9. | Comments by Tu_triky [Rating: 7/10] A funny, light-hearted feel good drama good for a few chuckles and some glowing smiles. Nothing terribly innovative or exciting but it might help lift your mood. For fans of Itoh Misaki you should indulge in this drama to see this young lady in a very cute, comic role. | 10. | Comments by EstherM [Rating: 7/10] If you can overlook that Itoh Misakifs character is lovely but beyond childish and annoying – itfs a funny and sweet drama about two siblings with funny side stories and characters. Itfs strictly a one watch only because itfs a tad too fluffy. | 11. | Comments by uchi23 [Rating: 5/10] a story about a country girl whos family is in financial trouble.. her brother is a doctor which makes his family proud.. itoh misaki does a great performance in teachin all those around her especially her brother the benefits of bein a good person | 12. | Comments by kneehard [Rating: 10/10] Just finished watching this drama today!! Great drama, light hearted most of the time. And I love the guy who acts as Nakamura Takumi, i think his name is Yuuta something..he reminds me of Takashi Kashiwabara when he first started out..kakkoii!!! | 13. | Comments by michimaru [Rating: 7/10] i thought watching another drama w/Itoh Misaki as the lead would be good... but this was annoying. i did grow to like it in the end, but i was 'eh' about it throughout more than half the series. there were some redeeming comedic moments though. | 14. | Comments by ct_subang [Rating: 6/10] Dangerously beautiful...well not the drama though...this one couldnt even compare to Densha...a very cheerfull + happy +innocent + naive-side of Misaki-chang..but still beautiful...maybe next time will get to see her in a more serious role... | 15. | Comments by waffer [Rating: ?/10] Still Watching. Okay so not exactly what I though it would be but it certainly keeps you watching. I can't seem to get attached to any of the characters except itoh-san's and only for brief moments, maybe it'll get better as I keep watching. | 16. | Comments by v1olet [Rating: 8/10] A comedy drama about brother and sister -- The ups and downs. Light and easy to watch. The pretty Misaki Itoh and the so-so Moriyama Mirai, hm... nothing resemblenced at all. The theme song, Ken Hirai's Pop Star, was nice. | 17. | Comments by IkematsuSosuke [Rating: 7/10] It was an entertaining drama but at the same time it at a lot of annoying scenes..didn't like the Yutaro character..the acting from Misaki-san was bad..but her beauty makes up for it..hahaha..Kitamura-san is hot too! | 18. | Comments by Mimori [Rating: 9/10] Very cute, funny and heartwarming drama. Although at times I found Hiroko to be a tad annoying. But her and Moriyama did have great chemistry and did a great job. The rest of the cast was really good as well. | 19. | Comments by SayaOtonashi [Rating: 4/10] A good story but too exagerated. I don't like Misaki Itoh very much, and in this dorama she was too much noisy. It was a bit boring too and too much unrealistic. Watch it only if you like Misaki Itoh. | 20. | Comments by tartan [Rating: 8/10] Just bumped into this while browsing dramawiki and decided to watch this immediately and finished this immediately. Really great play by Ito Misaki and many other support actors and actresses as well. | 21. | Comments by Hinano [Rating: 10/10] This drama was great. Very lighthearded and kept me amused. Moriyama-kun & Misaki-chan were great co-stars and all the other co-stars made it even more fun. Definitely a drama to watch again! | 22. | Comments by chibichan [Rating: 5/10] there's nothing special in this dorama,
a stupid sister who always thinking positively, annoying younger brother who always complaining about his sister, but somehow i manage to finish watch it | 23. | Comments by Nermal [Rating: 5/10] Bored me towards the last episodes, same thing over and over again gets tiring. I watched the end with pain because I needed to finish it but qite frankly, I could have lived without seeing it. | 24. | Comments by deathangels [Rating: 9/10] Ito misaki fans, U guys must watch this drama. the beginning is a little bit slow, but as the story rolling, its make u want to know next. i like the ending songs, very recomended to watch | 25. | Comments by Maiuuri [Rating: 7/10] i only have one complaint...the evil uncaring brother is just tooo mean. but otherwise i liked it. though it was a little unbelievable at times...like the dept they have to pay...c'mon... | 26. | Comments by serebi [Rating: 7/10] Itoh Misaki playing a funny role at its best! Very fun and enjoyable drama to watch !! I want to be a pop star too! though is has nothing to miss if you do not get the chance to see it. | 27. | Comments by abelcmcr [Rating: 7/10] Itoh Misaki playing a funny role at its best! Besides the easy-going and infantil character of Hiroko was terrible. I got bored of her after the second episode already. | 29. | Comments by shortmei [Rating: 8/10] Ok so Itoh Misaki's character was quite annoying, my heart went out to Mirai's character. It was touching though, I love how the two of them were trying to rebuild Minagawa. | 30. | Comments by bigfire [Rating: 8/10] Lovable characters and an adorable story make this a very pleasurable hour-by-hour experience. Nothing overly complicated or exceptional, but altogether a very solid drama. |
