Because it takes place during the Edo period there's not a lot of fighting like there would be during a sengoku taiga. It may hold the record for most scenes with people sitting on tatami mats talking. One thing I liked was the narrator was an actual character (played by Toru Emori) not some disembodied voice. Kind of a one man Greek chorus. It was entertaining but not great. |
