LOL.
A lot of out-of-towners freak out when there's a quake, even if it's a little one.
Just think if they were around for the Sylmar, Whittier, or Northridge quakes.

I remember one in the early 90's the dissolved a lot of San Fran and in Santaa ROsa where we were it looked like the entire country side was rolling like waves. It was awesome. _________________

Wake me when it's over. |
LOL, I didn't even notice it.
KCAL9 went nuts though, dropping all other news stories to report this nonstop, just like they do when there's a police pursuit.

Man, if you were watching CNN they would have you believe the search for the missing plane is the only event on the planet. Every time they find a old shoe with three holes floating in the Indian Ocean they call it breaking news as if they found the whole plane or the one ring from JRR Tolkien's novels.

News reporting has turned into a circus.

Before news reporting wasn't considered a profit center but broadcasting info for the public good.
It's also due in part to the 24 hours news cycle...they have to fill it with the same crap over and over again because they have nothing meaningful to broadcast most of the time.
Truthfully I've pretty much long since given up watching the news on TV, I use my mobile phone to sift through the news about 99 percent of the time.

Those days seem to be long gone.

Exactly.
KCAL9 airs the news continuously from 8-11 and all they do is recycle the same stories over and over... Unless there's a freaking car chase.

I'm at that point as well... I can pick and choose the news stories online.
