Good old 'Hotman"!!
That's always going to be a special drama for me because it's the first drama I ever saw and the one that got me hooked on this.
|
Hehe I stole the idea from your you You spoke so highly of it on your revie that I decided to watch it.
I finally finished Second Virgin (damn I hate the title) despite a laborious, long and a little boring start it took an unexpected turn and became very interesting in about the middle of the serie. Good I stuck to it, even with a three months break between fourth and fifth episode :p

Finished ep 5. Maki was very good in this episode!!
It used to bother me how they would switch from being funny and light to very serious but it's starting to make sense now. Eita's character is getting on my nerves though. Somebody, anybody needs to slap him and say, "Grow up you big baby!!"
But overall, I still think I like 'Tonbi' better.

It's the third time I watch a drama with Eita (Orange Days, Last Friends) and it seems he mostly portrays "loser" type? Well at least unlike the two previous characters he's not really a good guy, I like seeing actors playing every kind of roles |
Probably the best drama I've seen Eita in is 'Soredemo Ikite':http://www.jdorama.com/drama.1646.htm
Almost everybody agrees that it's very good although some think the ending could have been better.

It's not bad but like I said in another thread, I don't think I've ever seen Oizumi Yo in a good drama, and judging from the ratings this thing must really get a lot worse. |
I hear you! I took a day off from school today to work on a presentation and to wait for a delivery. I watched a few episodes in the background and they lost me during episode 6! They used the unforgivable "down with a sudden fever" cliche.
I like the idea of the drama - loneliness in a city and looking at alternative life styles - but while it has touching moments and a warm feeling, the story is weak.

It was probably a good idea initially but it's just poorly done. I had some hope in episode 5 with the Valentine's Day chocolates thing. I think a halfway decent comedy could be done about Mizukawa and her co-workers at the copier place, but that's not a good sign when the best thing about a drama is a minor subplot.

I think some people were hoping there would some romance between Karina and Kimtaku but I think they made the right choice in not going down that road. Karina was the best part of that drama for me, she's very good at comedy!
Started 'Itsuka Hi' at first I was kind of irritated by Iijima's character. How can somebody that went to prison for murder be so cheerful? But now we're finding out she's got her problems as well. For a long time I haven't been a fan of Aya. I think the first two dramas I saw her in were 'Attention Please' and 'My Little Chef' and I managed to finish those in spite of Aya not because of her. But she was very good in 'Zettai Reido' (need to get around to the sequel someday) and she's very good here as well. My only complaint is that just like in 'Freeter' they've turned Asano Atsuko into a one-dimensional character. She's one of the best actresses out there, they really need to expand her character.

I know. I'm liking it a lot. Waiting for a weep-fest. The throwing the ball part was uber dramafied ended up being funny.
Btw I just heard the soundtrack for a dorama called MARKS, it is beyond awesome and I haven't even watched the show. Definitely watching it next. _________________

Need something else to watch while waiting for new Mahoro eps!
Been watching 1 or 2 eps of Tokyo dogs and Byakuyakou but haven't really gotten into them yet.. so I'm thinking of perhaps starting with Liar game or something else. |
'Tokyo Dogs' should be avoided at all costs! Judging by your avatar, you're a fan of Odagiri Joe. If so, I would recommend (in no particular order) 'Jikou Keisatsu', 'Kaette Kita Jikou Keisatsu', and 'Boku no Imoto'.
