The NTV drama series gHotaru no Hikarih will get a movie in 2012, it has been announced. The moviefs title has not yet been decided, but the story is planned to take place in Rome, Italy, and will be shot on location.
Based on Hiura Satorufs manga of the same name, gHotaru no Hikarih had its first season as a television drama in 2007, averaging a 13.7% rating. In 2010, it returned for a second season and improved to a 15.5% average rating.

Hello to suzzy, Eve and Aya_Man_1988! So glad that this thread is somewhat active again! And here's what Fujiki and Ayase have to say about the Hotaru no Hikari movie:
gHotaru no Hikarih gets a movie adaptation!

Itfs been revealed that the drama series, gHotaru no Hikarig, will be getting a movie adaptation!
gHotaru no Hikarih first aired in 2007 and was based on Hiura Satorufs popular manga. Actress Ayase Haruka had played the role of a ehimono onnae named eAmemiya Hotaruf, who would rather stay at home and sleep than fall in love... Amemiyafs love interest and boss, eDirector Takanoe was played by the actor Fujiki Naohito.
At the time, gHotaru no Hikarih received an average viewer rating of 13.7%, with the highest being 17.3%.
Amemiya and Takano got married in the dramafs sequel, which aired in July of last year. This gained even more fans, and set a record with the average rating of 15.5%.
This upcoming movie takes place two years later, when Amemiya decides to go on a honeymoon in Rome after hearing Takanofs dream of gspending the holidays in Rome with the person I love.h
gWhen I first heard about the movie adaptation, I was surprised! But I am looking forward to arguing with ebuchouf in Italy. I will do my best to produce a good movie that many people can laugh at,h expressed Ayase.
Fujiki also commented, gI was skeptical when I first heard of the movie adaptation. To have a heartwarming drama that takes place on a porch, I still canft believe it. I have an attachment to the drama, so I am looking forward to playing ebuchouf again.h
Stay tuned for more information on the upcoming movie!
Ayase Haruka & Fujiki Naohito visit Rome to film gHotaru no Hikarih movie

Ayase Haruka is currently visiting Rome, Italy with Fujiki Naohito to film for their upcoming movie gHotaru no Hikarih which is scheduled to be released in early summer 2012. In recently released photos, Ayase appeared in a wedding dress. As reported previously, this is the movie adaptation of popular TV drama.
The movie will feature the bustling honeymoon of Hotaru (Ayase) and her husband Takano (Fujiki) in Rome. They filmed at famous places for gRoman Holidayg, and just like Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck, they were driving around the city on a scooter Vespa.
Many touristsf eyes were riveted on those gJapanese Hepburn&Gregory.h Fujiki felt a bit shy about that and said, gI was embarrassed to have pictures taken of me.g On the other hand, Ayase seemed just happy with her first overseas filming and said, gItfs amazing filming in Rome in a wedding dress!h
As Ayase said that she and Fujiki are attuned to each other through its drama series, they make a perfect pair.
Ayase said, gI wish this movie will attract the young generation who donft know gRoman Holidayh, and make them want to go to Rome.h Fujiki also commented with full of spirits, gWherever we film, Rome make it into a great scene. With this great location, I want to make a wonderful movie.h
They will continue filming in Rome until the beginning of October.
^ Thanks, enau! Yeah, that's pretty much the norm for any pics involving Fujiki's wife... I don't think there's actually been a picture of her released. There's been plenty of speculation though.
Anyway, thanks for all your hard work! _________________

^^ Don't know if you've seen this film, may have been his first from 1995, Hana Yori Dango, bet a lot of fans don't know there was a film of it from way back then. Just found it finally, he stars as Rui in it and Yuki Uchida plays the heroine Tsukushi.

Thanks, hitomi! I know Fujiki was Rui in the original Hana Yori Dango adaptation, but I hate that whole franchise, so not even Fujiki could make me watch it (besides, he didn't get the girl I think - it is always when Fujiki doesn't get the girl cuz he should )

^^ Wasn't even looking for it, just stumbled across it at an obscure site, PM me for the links if you want them, rather not post them here.
Gonna watch it later on tonight junny, skimmed thru it and it seemed okay, heard that version was so much better than the current versions, the manga was bearable, the drama and new movie is something I'd rather not discuss either. _________________

I'm jealous I've only seen it raw, _________________
^ Thanks, hitomi! Man, are those the new hairstyles for the movie? Really not liking them at all, makes Fujiki look meh (that's a crime!) and Ayase a 15--year-old. I wonder when the movie will premiere... maybe spring next year?
Edit: the poster for Fujiki's new drama Sengyou Shufu Tantei is out...
