It's Yuki Uchida's birthday, and I couldn't find a thread for her... and I think that's just criminal. So here goes:
After "Big Wing" in 2001 Yuki took some time off to get married and do the family thing. But thank Santa she decided to come back this year and do "Dare yori mo mama wo aisu".
Sorry to hear that her marriage didn't work out (okay, I'm not really, but you have to say stuff like that), but boy am I happy to have her back on my TV screen.

Yuki Uchida stars in mobile drama
Actress Yuki Uchida (34) will star in her first mobile drama, being distributed on BeeTV next year. Titled "30 Haken Onna ga Shuushoku Suru Houhou," the series is set to begin on February 1.
Uchida plays a single woman around the age of 30. Looking to lift herself beyond temp work, she begins her search for regular employment, though she also finds herself dealing with the difficulties of looking for a marriage partner.
Uchida's supporting cast includes Kosuke Toyohara, Mari Nishio, Kenichi Sano, Maki Kubota, and Tetsu Watanabe. The series is planned for 12 ten-minute episodes.

^^ It is so shocking that there's only a few posts in her thread, seems like most of my faves aren't so popular around here. Just started watching the web drama that Gaijin was referring to above:
Gonna try to keep this bumped up, she's been in so many dramas and films and has a ton of CMs and photoshoots, etc, should be easy for all to revive this, not that it was ever alive in the first place. _________________

Popular thing in Japan seems to have an actress throw out the first pitch at a ball game, sure she could have made a career out of it, think the batter's eyes wouldn't have been looking at the ball.

See this thread has become popular, here's a few things from Yuki's 1997 film Cat's Eye, fun movie though a bit hard to believe, Noriko was quite forgettable but Izumi Inamori was quite good as one of Ai's (Yuki) sisters.

How 'bout some present day Yuki, Cat's Eye was done when she was 21, this drama was from ealier this year as she's now 35, Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta, actually thinking she's looking better with age. _________________

Welcome to the Quiet Room, Yuki's 2007 film, her first big role after her short 'retirement'. Highly recommend this film, really interesting as Yuki plays Asuka who one day wakes up in the suicide watch room at a hospital with no clue how she got there, as the movie goes on she thought she was normal but thru all the flashbacks even she starts to wonder if she really is.
No good trailer out there but a short clip of the opening scene.

Koori no Sekai, 1999 drama of Yuki's where she played a traffic cop who was also dating Yutaka's character, however she used him to try to springboard her career. Good performance by her but wished it was bigger, too many other stars in it like Yutaka and Nanako, some shots from it. _________________
