Right then. I finished Fuyu no Sakura
Takashima Masanobu was so far over the top, as the evil husband who was making poor, long suffering Imai Miki's life miserable, that he provided the only laughs in the series.
I'm only up thru episode 6 on this one. Thanks for the heads up about the extra-long final episode.
Right now, my only complaint is the one you mentioned, Takashima Masanobu. This guy is supposed to be head of a hospital and the greatest brain surgeon in Japan! He's so bi-polar he makes Charlie Manson look like the rock of Gibraltar.
But I do like the relationship between the two brothers. They didn't make it the usual perfect brother vs. black sheep of the family. They're both decent guys trying to get along. And I really like Rosa Kato as Hajime's girlfriend. I knew I'd seen her in dramas before, but she made so little impression I had to look up which ones they were. But she's pretty good in this.

Should have told me sooner. Actually kept seeing Rev's avatar last night, must have been some subliminal message coming from it so ended up choosing Osen to start my marathon, up to episode 3, so far it's good, really enjoying Yu's character, can't say the same thing about Hiroki's. _________________

Then got to episode 7 and the roof caved in.
Also watched episode 8, now I'm debating if I should watch the final episode today or wait. Kind of like going to the dentist. I know I have to but maybe there's some way I can weasel out of it.

Finished Fuyu no Sakura which went downhill rapidly after episode 6. Remind me not to go to that hospital. Apparently none of those doctors know that in a pinch us can always us O- blood for a transfusion.

Finished up both Remote and Osen, both enjoyable enough but certainly didn't waste any brain cells on either, actually Osen would have been really good but the final episode brought my rating down, really no conclusion to it(?).
Think as far as full series go Akimahende is up next but currently watching the first episodes of Umareru, Maki's new one and Muscle Girl, latest one from Yui Ichikawa. _________________
Fine, I'm not gonna to . This season we are flooded with series on babies small children and dogs. Sayonara to coroners, detectives, doctors and high school brats.
Am hooked to Marumo no Okite and Jin (even Jin is not spared. Remember Kiichi ? The little boy opens the first episodes of Jin and Jin2 with his tears).
Wowow opens another can of worms with "CO Ishoku Coordinator " but i have doubts on the lead actor.

Just watched Marumo no Okite episode 1. I like it. Mana-chan is so cute but she's really overworked for a six years old. Very surprised to see Abe Sadao in such a serious and moving episode, I guess the light comedy probably comes later in the series.
Watched bit and pieces of a few series before that. The most surprising was how amateurish GTO looked, and how good Home Drama was.

Started watching Kimi wa Petto, Matsujun and Ishihara Satomi look so young, I didn't even recognize ishihara Satomi until I looked at the cast list; disappointing to see Koyuki is a smoker but then Japanese who don't smoke are in a minority.
Also watching Reinoryokusha Odagiri Kyoko no Uso, Spec - really interesting, Madonna Verde and Nasake No Onna.
Started Ryōma Den.
Since the few other Taigas I've seen all somehow dealt with the begin of the Tokugawa shogunate, it's good that this one's around the end.
I'm at ep05. At the moment I'm enjoying the opening theme and positively impressed by Kanjiya Shihori (Swing Girls) as Chiba Sana.

Finished Bartender. Enjoyable, but felt kinda rushed with only eight episodes. Drama had a slow pace, which was kind of expected since most of the time characters are hanging out in a bar.
Was going to start Jin 2, but will wait until the show is finished. Blow through the series when I have some free time
This is a by the book 'energetic, passionate, loving educator meets rowdy, undisciplined, mean spirited children' story. Only this time the kids are 5th graders, and the educator is the newly appointed grammar school Principal.
If you've watched Japanese TV for a while you know the drill. The kids can no longer be disciplined (beaten) the way they were in the good old days... so now they are stupid and sort of evil. The career teachers have all pretty much given up. And into town rides the loving savior.
I was tired of this one by the third episode, it had completely worn out its welcome by the sixth, and I watched the final three (45 minute long) episodes in just under a half an hour. _________________
