Don't you experience delay by streaming?
It partly depends on your connection. If your PC and PS3 are wired to the router, then you do much better. Unfortunately for me, my laptop and dramas as well as the PS3 are downstairs and the router upstairs, so I'm wireless. In some VBR videos, I will get some random stuttering if I just stream. Also, you can't usually stream HD over wireless; it'll stutter like crazy. You can if you tone down the quality.
I have found that if you force transcode mp4's and some avi's, you can get rid of the stutter. I can force transcode the 720p Nagreboshi without video loss or stuttering. For the dramas with srt's, I create a divx file that I put on a USB stick, and the PS3 will play that perfectly without stuttering and in the original viedo quality.
I sometimes compile the newest SVN versions of PS3 Media Server to test out new features. I'm trying out the r507 revision now. _________________

Yup, this one is on my list to get.
Hi from New Zealand.
I've been an Ueto Aya chan fan for a while, collecting many dramas and most of her music. Shimokita Sunday is one of my favorites. At first I didn't understand the comedy, but it grew on me. Worst hair cut but great story. Then there is that shower scene.
I also recommend Attention Please, Celeb to Binbō Taro, Abarenbō Mama, and Jūnen Saki mo Kimi ni Koishite. A must have is Ueto Aya Best Live Tour 2007 "Never Ever".
This shows just what an entertainer Aya is:-)

You could browse around on SilentRegrets.com when it's back online. They offer Dramas with English subtitles, too! And on the must-see note, I can say that you should surely also see Attack No. 1. It has a skinnier Aya, but it's definitely an awesome Drama to have seen!

Thanks Aya_man i will definitely take a look on there once its back online.. i looked around on D-Addicts which is also very good with asian dramas but unfortunately people don't stick around to seed, so often end up with half downloaded episodes or series . Is there anywhere i can find links for direct download (preferably Rapidshare or Megaupload as i have accounts for both)
Found links to Hotelier in here earlier when i was browsing around.. Would that be worth the download?
I think i might have Attack No 1 already somewhere.. not very organised with my digital media lol. so i will watch that soon

I'm downloading episodes 5-11 of Attack No 1, some are done, some aren't but gonna keep the torrents open for a while even for the ones done so it'd be a good time now to download it. _________________

Not at all. Even streaming Full HD movies is no problem. Over router here, too
After writing my earlier post I was a bit bummed by my wireless situation. So, I was wondering if I could use my old wired router to make a second wired network for my laptop and PS3. Well, after several hours of messing around, I have laptop connected to the internet via the wireless router and the PS3 via the wired router. I can stream a drama and be on the internet at the same time!! Only problem that I haven't figured out is that the PS3 can't get on the internet (not a problem as I don't do online gaming).
I can't believe how much better wired streaming is!! Videos that would choke my wireless network work perfectly now!
Back on topic...I'm gonna stream some Aya-chan now! _________________

Ueto Aya makes a lovely appearance at the gKimono Queen
Actress Ueto Aya made a guest appearance at Japanfs biggest kimono-centered event, the gKimono Queen Contest 2011g.
February 21, 2011
gIfm sorry for interrupting.h Thatfs how Ueto made her surprising entry at opening of the event. After a short greeting, she introduced her gorgeous black kimono. She stated, gI chose a stylish and beautiful kimono with a fan and crane pattern for today.h Further, she introduced the theme of this yearfs contest. gThe theme for today is ewannabe adultf. Ifm 25, Ifm already becoming one,h she said with a smile.
She continued to talk about more things related to kimonos. gFor my coming-of-age ceremony, my grandma gave me a light purple kimono with the pattern of a night-blooming cereus and added the brooch my mother was wearing for her coming-of-age ceremony. Itfs a very precious item to me.h About the times she likes to wear a kimono, she replied, gUsually I like to wear a kimono when Ifm going out for a meal or when Ifm going to watch a play. It would be a dream if I could wear one every day. I think itfs a great privilege for women to be able to wear kimonos.h
Ueto also recalled her own first beauty contest, which became an important stepping stone to where she is now. gI was in sixth grade and completely felt out-of-place. However, I hate to lose and therefore came up with choreography and went up on stage. I worked hard for the prize, but knew that it would be impossible to win. I couldnft believe it when they called my name. I didnft know why I was chosen, but I was very grateful.h
It is already the 42nd year that the gKimono Queen Contesth is being held in Japan. Uetofs agency, Oscar Promotion, is sponsoring the contest in which girls have to properly dress and wear a kimono and look beautiful at the same time. College student Natsume Yuika was chosen as the queen, and another young woman, Sato Riho, won the Oscar Promotion Award, which could open the door to a promising career in the future.

3NBg搶 / 3 nen B gumi Kinpachi Sensei to end at last in March 2011
Singer/actor Takeda Tetsuya (61) who portrayed teacher Sakamoto Kinpachi Sensei in the popular Kinpachi drama series will retire the character at the end of March. The 1st drama series, g3 Nen B Gumi Kinpachi Senseih which aired on TBS back in 1979 will conclude with a special drama episode at the end of March. This 12th special episode will be a compilation of highlights from the past 8 seasons. Therefs also talk about the past 240 students returning for the finale. Takeda was filled with emotion and said, gI cried when I read the script.h
Kinpachi Sensei is finally bidding farewell to Sakura Middle School. The enthusiastic teacher born in 1950 is nearing the retirement age. The special drama tentatively titled, g3 Nen B Gumi Kinpachi Sensei Finalh will air at the end of March is the final chapter to the series. Takeda has successfully portrayed the character for many years.
The Kinpachi series dealt with many social problems such as teenage pregnancy, bullying, gender identity disorder, and drug abuse. The series received much criticism on occasion.
With retirement just at the horizon, Kinpachi Sensei who is in poor health acts normally in front of his students in the finale. Takeda says hefll do his best in this finale with a character that hefs portrayed over a span of 32 years.
-------------------------------
Personally, it's sad for me. Yet I do hope, that this special will finally be subtitled...
Plus, I have read that they are trying to have all 240 students of the past return. And you all know what that means. If it really happens, Aya may return one final time as Tsurumoto Nao... I surely hope it happens!

Yes, i agree. talking about hightlights, Nao and Aya sure should be in the special again, as well. I think her character in season 6 was very popular and so I hope for some cameo apperance or at least some special interview, as well.
Some retirement special episode, with old graduated students paying a visit, would be cool. Especially I wonder; would they show nao as a guy now already? hehe
