Yup... And with flash drives in the double-digit GB range, you can pack a lot of stuff on 'em for viewing...
Hit the nail on the head. I have a 1GB flash drive which is pretty much useless for high definition content, so I recently purchased a 16GB flash drive which is what I used to watch Nodame Cantabile, Movie 1.
I think I'm going to use the drive to watch all my hardsubbed content from now on. At least the Divx files, mp4s and what not that is watchable on my tv.

^ sounds like a good idea to invest in!
I am still sick so I watched 3 more episodes of Marks no Yama - if you like revenge dramas and were thinking of watching Guilty, don't! Watch this instead.
Speaking of Guilty, the ending was one of the most silly ones in ages, I just laughed which was so wrong given that it was meant to be so tragic and sad. Guilty makes look SOS like a masterpiece.

Just finished ep 4 of 99-nen no Ai~JAPANESE AMERICANS~! Another ep made me cry to tears! an amazing performance from everyone!
I'm so glad their doing this story about a very dark and sad time in history..
On a side note...I just love 1940s western fashion and seeing japanese men dressed like that is nice!
Also finished Ep 5 of Second virgin! I love Suzuki Kyoka and her character is interesting! I also love the old woman, and YOU! Can't wait to see where the characters go it's getting more and more intense.

Like xploring said, there are media players out there, like from Western Digital (hey, same initials: WD ), which can take media from other sources (flash, HDD, etc.) and convert it to play on an HDTV via the HDMI port.
Oh LOL
Yeah, I figured getting a media player is probably better for me. _________________

It's not a bad idea. I was able to purchase the usb drive at a reasonable price from Amazon. Definitely makes transferring dramas from my computer to the TV more convenient to watch dramas.

Saves discs and all that time to burn 'em, too.
Yes, that sums it up nicely. I was contemplating the day when such storage media becomes so cheap and versatile that when trading dramas or the like we could just mail one another a high density flash drive instead having to burn things on disc.

Episode 4 of Gold, really not as bad as others have noted but no classic for sure. Masami has been a pleasant surprise but can't say the same for Yuki, she needs to vary her roles, 3rd drama in a row I've seen of her where she plays a strong willed, iron hearted boss, think she has the talents to do more than those kind of roles. _________________

My new TV plays all sorts of video files, and I tried Shiroi Haru ep. 1 with external .srt subs yesterday, and it even recognised them!

Just finished Hikaru no Hikari 2 and Double Score.
Hikaru no Hikari 2 was really good, I liked it more than first one. The first half of the show was good, but gradually it went to a little bad direction, though the ending was good and the show overall.
About Double Score, I have never heard about this drama, just bumped upon this while browsing dramas and I saw Sorimachi Takashi in it and decided to give first episode a try. It's really great even if you don't like police shows, its about chemistry between Sorimachi Takashi and Oshio Manabu's characters as a police duo and other casts make the show really fun too. It doesnt have a real deep story but I can guarantee every episode is a worth to watch. Filled with emotional, funny and some mysterious scenes, it was really a nice watch. 8,5/10
Right now deciding on a new drama, tempted to check "Mother" out, but I'm not in a mood to cry.. yet :p
