yah all i had were back pains, and soreness in my neck for about 1 week.
oh yah i forgot! the back window of my car popped off from the collision, and me being the crazy girl i am, i got out of the car and tried to push the car out.. i even picked up the back window with my hands (it was still held together in 2 big pieces by tint) and i threw it into my trunk! i had cuts from that. i also ran across 4 lanes of the highway to the other side..
afterwards the police dropped me off at school so i could take my final. i was crying and shaking (from being wet in the rain) while taking the final. Beaten

oh my first totalled car, it was almost like a game of chicken. i was going straight, and speeding up, and this guy in an old big cadillac was turning..i was thinking, he better not turn..but he did, and smashed my car. Mad

yah i'm kind of reckless.. i've learned my lesson after that second accident. i was scared to drive in the rain for a long time. one time i even cut this van off and he followed me for 1 or 2 miles (i didnt even notice), but he ended up throwing his son's ice cream cup at my car!!! Mad

i blew a rod in my integra cuz i didn't have oil in it. i kept ignoring the oil light. stupid me. i abuse the hell out of the integra thats why. i haven't washed the car since last year.. hehe

yah those old m3s are so cool! really they cost that much? i know that they are collectors cars now but thats a lot of money (i know some sushi guy that has one, and he recently bought a new bimmer for 80k!!) Crazy ..i also like the old 2002 bimmers. Bleah

That kinda stuff does leave scars. But you get over it, especially since you need a car in California.

Yep, brand new in '87-'90 was $35K if you could get it for that price...

Oooh, the famous 2002. My brother bought a brand new one in '75 for $7500... $7500 for a new BMW!!! Amazing!!! I fell in love with that car from day one... If I had the space, I would've taken it off his hands and restored it, but unfortunately..... Sad

Oh that is my homey... Sweat Did it just burn a lot of oil fast, was it leaking, or was it just a really long time before it was filled or changed? I don't think I ever saw my oil light pop on other than when you turn it on and all the accessories light up. I did have the "service engine soon" light pop up once, but it was after my EGR valve repair and the tripped sensor just had to be reset. Other than that...no warning lights so far Nut

You don't have to be wreckless to get wrecked.

Ask anyone who rides a motorcycle.

I've been knocked off my bike by people who were changing lanes.

I've been rear-ended by people who simply didn't see me in traffic right in front of them. (I am not small)

And my favorite happened when I was stopped on California St. in San Francisco. One bright sunny afternoon, a woman pulling out of a Hospital parking garage wanted to enter the traffic stream. She saw a space between two cars that were stopped waiting for a light to change. I was stopped, sitting on my bike, occupying that space, but since I wasn't a car, she simply didn't recognise the fact that I was there. She drove straight into me.

Crushed my bike (she just drove over it), broke my leg, and I ended up sitting on the pavement, next to an ambulence that was stuck in traffic, trying to make a left turn into the Hospital.

Funniest part (to me, anyway) was the ambulence driver. Sitting behind the wheel, he sticks his head out, looks down at me, sitting dazed in the middle of the street, and says; "Can I give you a lift?"

yah i had no other choice but to take it, i didnt want to go back to school later at night to take it. Beaten but imagine how people were looking at me when i came in late to class! i was supposed to do a presentation with my group, but i didn't make it on time. when i came into class they were clapping! i yelled "i was in an accident!" then the clapping stopped. lol
yah those old 2002s are cool! i almost bought one w/a sunroof here for around $2500. i bought the integra instead (since it was only $1800).
Mr Green
yah the rod blew because the oil was gone! it was a combination of not filling it/changing, and the car burnt some oil also. there was a little fire when i opened the hood (near the dip stick area). Nut
but it was a fun learning experience, i helped my friend's uncle put the engine in. it was a little tricky since my car is a 91, and the engine was from a 93.

im hoping to buy another car after summer (either a 97+ honda prelude, acura rsx type s, or a 94+ acura integra gsr.) Mr Green

no more crashes for me (hopefully).

yah thats true geezer. i was only wreckless that second time, because it was raining a lot.. it couldve been my front tires though (although they werent that bald.. Sad
theres MANY bad drivers in SF..i've been in fender benders where it was never my fault.

It's those kinda stories that discourage me from buying my RS1100 Replika....

I guess it's what you're used to.

I got my first bike in 1971. It's too late to quit now.

I drive a pick up truck for work.

Cars? Cars scare the heck out of me. Too slow and awkward to aviod trouble. Too small to ignore trouble.

I was driving a VW last week while my truck was in the shop, and I felt like I was on a motorized skateboard. Terrifying.

Was she at least remorseful (because afterall, she's a braindead moron)?? I hope you squeezed her dry. I don't mind driving when there are motorcycles on the road, as long as they don't try to cut up the shoulder or ride the middle line between the lanes and squeeze in front of me with only like 2 feet of space and make me almost hit them. Other than that, if they are in the right lanes and stuff, I see them....I hear them, LOL.

I'm most annoyed by people on regular bikes, especially in Philly. They ride in the street yet don't follow the rules of the road. They'll get on busy roads and just putz around and even cut you off. Then when they have the opportunity, they don't use the bike lanes. Then there'll be like 5-6 of them together, riding down the road in a horizontal line, making it impossible to pass them....going at 3 damn miles per hour. Then they'll run right through red lights at busy intersections and when you almost hit them, they scream at you! Mad I saw one accident where a bike rider cut off a bus and he got hit and got really hurt...he was screaming in pain. Cops came, everyone was like..."It was his fault, he cut right in front of the bus" while the guy was screaming "Get this guy that hit me! I'm suing the city and septa!". @$$ I've had so many close calls with bike riders...then also a lot of them have almost knocked my rear view mirrors off just trying to cut up the side at a red light to get to the front Nut

Mr. Choy Boi

As for your not getting into an accident yet... I'm knocking on wood for you right now, bub. (But beware saying stuff like that out loud, or you'll jinx yourself.)

KouSeiya315

Sure she was remorseful. Heck, she was horrified, and couldn't understand why she didn't see me. (Her insurance paid for the repairs on my bike, and my trip to the hospital.)

That 'not being seen' thing is just something you have to learn, and accept when you've been riding bikes for a while. People are conditioned to be aware of other cars and trucks on the roads. And all too often, bikes just don't register.

And as for bikers riding between the lanes... I know drivers are annoyed when a biker rides by when you're stuck in stop and go... but give the guy a break. He's not just trying to go faster, or save time in his commute.

He's trying to save his butt.

SItting stock still in the middle of bumper to bumper traffic on a bike can get you killed. Drivers will hit you from behind at 2 miles per hour. People, in frustration, will try to change lanes, and drive you off the road. And depending on the size of the bike, and the size of the rider, that bike can get very heavy if you have to support it's weight with your leg for long periods of time.

And riding between lanes isn't fun, especially considering the fact that there's always some clown who thinks it's funny to threaten to open his door just as you're about to pass.

I know that just about everything I've been saying here sounds negative. But I have to say, the positives, at least for me, far outweigh the negatives. The joy I've had in riding over the years far outweighs the bad stuff.

And really, all you have to do is understand that every single person on the road, in a car or truck, is actively trying to kill you if you're on a bike. Get that in your head, and you stand a pretty good chance of getting where you're going in one piece.

As it should have been....although it shouldn't have happened...

It's kinda true, but as far as I think, if they are in the lanes as cars are, then they should be seen. It's when they ride up the side, between me and a parked car, that I may not see them.

Quote:

I understand and I don't mind getting passed, but I dunno...as far as I knew, they are supposed to sort act as if they are a car on the road (in PA, they are..especially when there are signs that say "Share the road"). Having a bike or motorcycle doesn't give the right to drive through an intersection that has a red light, lol. I was mostly referring to bicyclists, not motorcycle riders. It only bothers me if they dart through without being careful...like flying right through, especially when there isn't enough space and they almost side-swipe you (happens a LOT). As I said, several times I've almost gotten my mirror knocked off from them flying through. The city I live in, the lanes are kinda narrow and every street has parked cars, so going between is like an obstacle course, LOL.

Ouch. I don't bother them if they don't bother me. Because I don't know what they'll do or where exactly they'll go next, I try to let 'em just pass so I don't have to deal. It's people riding bikes (bicycles) that bother me most, especially since they cannot go fast and don't allow you to pass them...and in PA, it's illegal to beep at them b/c it can startle them and cause a worse accident...hehe

Check out this video. A 900 hp Viper goes against some street bikes, cool stuff. It's about 29 MBs though.
