Unless you have one of those media players, those all seem to support .mkv files.

Nope, incorrect. The video file inside a .mkv can be anything, as I pointed out above. .mkv is just a "container".

Yeah, just like avi... I guess the .mkv is a more versatile container.
And also a pain a in ass.

I'm converting (using avidemux) this one large file (4GB+) and the audio is out of sync with the video after conversion...
Haven't seen it happen with other .mkv files... Just this big one... Wonder if that has something to do with it. |
.mkv is just a container. Look for mkvtoolnix, it allows you to extract the various files in the container.

I did use that to extract the file... But after the conversion, the audio sync was off.
I don't see how the file size could affect it, yet that seems to be the only apparent difference.

Weird.
I don't bother with that any more, since ConvertX to DVD handles mkv's beautifully from version 3 on

Have you ever tried it with a large (4GB+) .mkv file?

So ka.
I've done the conversion from .mkv with no problems until I ran into this 4GB file... Guess I'll have to do some Googling.

Thanks. |
Most people seem to use ConvertX2DVD.

I should be using, then.
But I'm too dumb to know that.
