I'm shocked. Shocked, I say! I never thought I'd see you recommend Muri na Renai!

Or Kekkon Dekinai Otoko Same deal, no teens there.
Since we're adults (30+), that's fine with us.
Thanks for all the recommendations, everyone. I'll check out PRIDE, Love Generation, Long Vacation and Kekkon Dekinai Otoko. I'll probably check out Beautiful Life as well, once I stock up on boxes of tissues.
While the series, which is longer than your typical renzoku, is ostensibly about doctors at a university hospital, the real focus is less on the operations and more on the Machiavellian machinations present in the medical profession and how the politics of medicine affect not only the health care professionals and their patients, but the families of both groups as well. I mentioned on previous posts that this series is very much like a Shakespearean tragedy, not only in content but also in quality.
Don't know how familiar you are with Japanese actors/actresses, but the large ensemble cast, from the principals to the supporting players, is top-notch with a number of talented experienced performers.[/quote
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was looking for. I had heard of it before, but it was very poorly seeded at the time. After downloading it and watching the first couple of episodes, I'm entranced. I hope I can find more like it.

Just finished watching Karei Naru Ichizoku... wow. That was pretty powerful. It was interesting to see Suzuki Kyoka and Yanagiba Toshiro from Kira Kira Hikaru, the first drama I ever watched (waaaay back on the International Channel). At one time or another, I could feel sympathy for every character in the show... except Suzuki's.
I found out that both PRIDE and Love Generation also have Matsu Takako, so I'll check those out first. I've been wanting to see something with her for a while.

Maybe you're thinking of Hero? Matsu Takako is not in Pride. Takeuchi Yuko is.
Both of those Kimura / Matsu dramas are hit and miss with some people. Personally, I loved both. But I know many people that couldn't get into Hero. I think it's great because of its ensemble cast, which includes Matsu Takako, Otsuka Nene, and of course, Abe Hiroshi. But I can understand why some didn't like the drama because they didn't feel the cases were compelling.
As for Love Generation, the most often heard complaint is that Matsu's character, Riko is annoying. But I watched this drama as it aired way back in '97 I think, and it was the must watch show at the time.
I guess it depends on what you like or don't like. _________________

PRIDE's leading lady was Takeuchi Yuko. I prefer her more than Matsu Takako and not a fan of Love Generation. Matsu Takako was in Long Vacation though (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. MUST WATCH. NOTICED THE CAPS?). There's also Yutaka Takenouchi, Hirosue Ryoko-chan and Ryo (http://jdorama.com/artiste.123.htm).

Seems like pretty much all the school dramas are manga adaptations...
Well, Nobuta wo Produce is not from a manga but an actual novel. I still highly recommend it anyways. The novel, from what I've heard, is a lot darker than the drama.
I liked the theme of Osen and am personally a fan of Aoi Yu but the pace of the drama was just too slow for me, and I think I'm pretty patient. Also I didn't like the main guy (Ezaki)
Does anyone know there's any good drama about music like Nodame Cantabile??? _________________

Alright, so lately I've been following a lot of recent dramas that came out such as Majo Saiban, Buzzer Beat, Dandy Daddy, Ninkyo Helper, Orthros no Inu and Teioh
but I'm looking for an already complete drama... kinda have some time left before school starts so I want to watch a finished series on a all-nighter. I'm looking for something in the genre of comedy, school, life, mystery, whatever as long as it's good and if you can recommend something with cast at the age range from teens to mid 20s to late 20s... you know what I mean.
Just not interested in those dramas with old adults, too serious, etc. No offense.

If you're telling me something that I've already seen then I'll simply let you know. I'm gonna put a link in my sig section later on shows all the dramas I've seen so people don't recommend something I saw already.

Thank you in advance. ^_^
It might be easier to use the "My Dramas" section located at the top of this site, which notes which dramas you watched or bought. Just a thought. _________________
