I bought the original book, and have read the first 2 chapters. The first chapter described the little siblings' adventure and its just too cute. I almost cried at the end of the chapter. I love how Higashino Keigo write the children's lines, so natural and cute.
Anyway, seem like there will be Ryusei news article on tomorrow's TV Guide. So maybe the other casts or who's gonna sing the themesong will be revealed soon *shibasaki kou, shibasaki kou* _________________
The story sounds good but I'm apprehensive about the cast.
Aside from Nino you mean?
Lemony Snicket + Byakuyakou = Ryusei no Kizuna?
Oh.. yanie_chan's signature. Nichan sounds like Yamada Taro. Must he play another naive character again? . I was hoping someone like his character in Ao no Hono.

Nahh, I'd say Summer Snow + Byakuyakou = Ryusei ^_^
Yeah, apparently lots of Japanese fans are doubting the casts as well. Although I believe in Nino... but somehow I can't imagine him as a smart, genius guy xD Although he suits as the guy who always sit in front of the computer^^
Well, as far as I read, Ariake Koichi is definitely not Yamada Taro. I've only read the 11 years old version of the character though. But young Koichi is a very responsible eldest brother, know exactly what he does, mentally strong and determined. Sometimes bad-tempered. Hehee... maybe Yamada Taro and his character in Stand Up stuck in my mind too much, I really can't imagine Nino as Koichi But I'm pretty sure he'll do well. Oh... strangely, Koichi always tend to scold the naive Taisuke, but he is very gentle to the spoiled/selfish Shizuna. Well... maybe coz she's a 6 years old^^ Taisuke is the naive one, don't have much of a strong heart compared to Koichi. He nods "hai, hai" to everything Koichi said, but he also cannot reject his sister's request. Quite indecisive. He depends on his brother alot. Well, the 9 yeard old Taisuke, that is. Little Shizuna is... well, just a normal, spoiled, little girl^^
I think I've once seen Nino and Ryo's pic together when they were still juniors, maybe around 13-14 years old but they looked like 10 years olds, it would be interesting if the staffs use their real childhood photo together in the drama ^-^ But I guess, that's impossible
At first I was thinking they'll start the drama with a scene of the sibling group swindling some rich man's money, then go to flashback for what happened 14 yrs ago. But now I think the drama will start from their childhood for 1 episode, just like Byakuyakou. Coz the childhood story is pretty detailed and important, with the police investigation result and everything.
Although the novel is quite serious and the touching type. But I doubt Kudo Kankuro will make it totally serious... _________________

You're kidding right?
He played Shohei (Stand Up!) too well then for you to wipe that image off him xD. Since I'm fortunate enough to have seen his somewhat "real" (as seen on TV/monitor) self with Arashi, Nino is one smart ass kind of guy. Very quick witted.

OMH. Koichi is like Shuichi in Ao no Hono. Really looking forward to that! Ao no Hono is one of Nino performance that solidifies my love for his acting skills. It was mind blowing.

Did I detect a slight worry for Kudokan's zaniness?

Ah yes, I know Nino is smart. But "Nino in drama"... haha, I dunno he suits Shohei character so much, or maybe its becoz StandUp is my first Nino drama, it just stuck on my head, LOL. Maybe I loved that character too much So yeah, I'm really hoping Nino can totally change that image in my head. Coz, I love Koichi character already.

Not worry. Just a guess. I'd welcome KudoKan's humor anytime! Its just Higashino and KudoKan has the total opposite of genre. So I was wondering how will it turn out. The book was highly praised by the public. So KudoKan is burdened with a great responsibility, though he has his own reputation too.
I'd better be ready I know its really not healthy to read/watch the original thing, while I have high expectation on the adaptation. But can't help it Then again, quoting Higashino Keigo, "A book and the adaptation are two different things,". _________________
I LOve Shohei to pieces too! But just to give you some hint of Nino ability to play a smart young man you got to catch him as Shuichi (its just a 2 hour movie. there's even subs.. you can get it from here). That's the beauty of Ninomiya acting.. He manage to trick the audience into believing the characters truly exist and different from his real self.
Kudokan has a lot of pressure to make this one work perfectly after some flops (??.. not too sure.. the Kyoko Fukada drama? Nagasawa Masami's Ganghes river?). Hopefully he will deliver. GANBATTE KUDO KANKURO-SAN!

LOL. Seem like you really loved Nino in Ao no Honou. Is the story good? I have it since a looooong time ago (maybe 5 years ago). But the movie looked boring to me, so I didn't pay attention to the story nor Nino's acting. Hmm... I'll check it out again, then _________________

It can be considered slow but i was so intrigued by Shuichi that I don't really mind (or aware of) any faults the movie might have. Its understandable for audience to be put off by it but I like it for Nino performance alone. The story revolves around Shuichi twisted mind on how to get rid of his estranged father. Very dark. I think I watched this right after "Stand Up!" and thus spiraled into Arashi doom right after.

ooooooh... they do look like siblings
Ha... now that you put them in a row like that, they DO have some resemblance... esp. Nino and Erika. The staff in charge of casting is pretty detailed then^^
suzzy, do you mean the drama's poster? I heard Ryo said at the concert, that he had only receive the script for episode 1 and 2 this week, so I don't think they have even started the filming yet, nor had some photo sessions. But maybe soon! _________________
