Hello, and please excuse my ignorance of Japanese television. I'm trying to find out information about a series from the late 1970s (possibly early 80s) that I saw in Hawaii at that time. It concerned a Japanese housewife and her ordeals. The details are fuzzy--I barely remember it. It may be more of a "soap opera" than a dorama. if there is a distinction. (BTW I looked in the new Dorama encyclopedia and couldn't find anything close...) The name of the series was "Hana-" something, either "Hanamarushi" or "Hanamaushi" etc. Sorry I can't give any more details. If anyone remembers this series, and knows where there is an "official" synopsis or info page, I'd love to find out. Thanks!

Are you sure it was not Daikon no Hana?

I believe there was a Japanese drama like this about some housewife.

I was too little myself... I was more into the chambara/samurai ones back then Mr Green

Hello I would like to know some dramas I watched while beeing in Japan last year.

Drama1: Young woman (kawaii) living in a sort of ryoukan with an elderly lady and a manga artist. The elderly lady seemd to run the place, but had some problems with her son. And the young woman seemd to get a crush for the manga artist.

Drama2: I just saw the final part, with a young woman that played the piano and died in an accident, and a young man returning to his teacher and asking to run a competition, and really winning it for the dying girl.

I hope someone remebers them.

I saw drama1 in may 2003 and the other in about the same timeframe.

Thanks already for your help.
Sacha

Was wondering if anyone can help me identlfy this J-drama... I believe it's quite old. Saw only a few episodes when I was still young, so I have no recollection of the title or actors/actresses in it. But the story is about a married couple - the husband is the teacher while the wife is one of his students. Nobody knows this secret except a friend in school. And the other thing i remembered was the wife, which is the student, is extremely kawaii. I believe it's a comedy. This is all i know... um.. does this plotline rings a bell to anyone?

The plotline rings no bells with me, but I haven't seen any dramas older than 1992 or so. Maybe someone could find out what drama it was by giving us an approximate time (within 5-7 years) of when you saw it.....or even which decade Mr Green

Thank you for trying, appreciate that! Thing is I have no idea when this drama is dated, my guess is probably about the same time as Heaven Coins 1, but that's only my guess, I'm not even entirely sure, that's why I didn't put that in my earlier description. I did browse through the database here but none of the synopsis fits.... Just keeping my fingers crossed that perhaps someone will know~!

My guess would probably be "Nananin no OL Sommelier" or "Tsumetai Tsuki", the only 2 dramas Akina did in 1998. Nananin isn't listed on jdorama.com but Tsumetai doesn't list Matsumoto Akiko as an actress in it. So....my best guess would be Nananin.
