Actually I was wondering... In Japan if I'm not mistaken, there could only be one lead actor/actress in a dorama. For example, in "Engine", Kimura's considered the male lead while Koyuki's only the supporting actress and not as a female lead. So I was wondering how are we going to nominate prople for the best and supporting actor/actress awards. are we going to follow Japan's way or just our normal way as in there will be one male and female leads in the doramas...

Migod. I hope so too that this will go on smoothly.. But seeing the support this project has been getting, the "committee's" going to make it worthwile.. this is a free for all exercise of viewer democracy.. everything is subjective so if someone thinks that "Koyuki" should be in the running for best actress and not supporting, we will honor thatas long as it is backed up by the necessary votes.. Thanks for your noms!

Baseball used to make me cry too. I mean 5 bucks for a hot beer and 3 bucks for a hot dog. .... j/k I guess I'll have to give a suitcase full of money to someone else...
I'll stop with the stupidities (Hopefully). I'm rushing to finished all the 2005 dramas I have before the deadline, but since this is just nominations, I guess pretty much every dramas and actors have been already nominated, right? If someone already put it in they're nominations, I don't need to put it in mine, right? _________________

You have a point there tbunchkins.. the noms will be the top 4-3 with the most votes.. so if you browse through the thread and see that your series is being backed up by enough votes, no need to nom them.. but if you have a series otherwise.. then put it in..

Ummm... did everyone forget that there are 4 seasons in 2005? Seems that almost all are nominating from fall 2005 only...
http://jdorama.com/season.winter.2005.htm
http://jdorama.com/season.spring.2005.htm
http://jdorama.com/season.summer.2005.htm
http://jdorama.com/season.fall.2005.htm
What happened to the Densha fans?
imho, summer was the strongest dorama season this year.
Densha Otoko - kitaaaaaa!!!
Jyoou no Kyoushitsu - superteacher! sees you when you're sleeping, know when you're awake, knows when you've been bad or good .... Must be related to Santa
Dragon Sakura - super lawyer teacher
(I've heard of great things about slow dance and umizaru, but not seen them myself)
Winter was underwhelming in the dramas I've seen... (about 5 on the list)
Spring was mediocre - Ruri no Shima was the highlight
This fall is also pretty good, with Nobuta no Produce and 1 Litre leading the season. I think that HYD was crippled a bit because the writing was only OK
I've yet to prep my nominations, as I just saw the thread now ... but wanted to offer some food for thought for others nominating.
btw, are we limited to one nomination per category? I know that it should be one VOTE per category, but nominations can be more? maybe? How about 3 per category?

by the looks of it.. I think so far the majority of the people who are voting are JE fans...
Hence.. So far.. most of the shows/people nominated all have one way or another associated with JE...
I'm sure there were really good dramas this year.. I don't have much bandwidth.. SO i've only downloaded the ones with actors I like... And well buying disks in Vancouver is way too expensive........

Looking at the thread, you will see that there are some series that are already a shoo-in as a nominee. That being said, you may nominate another series that you think deserves to be in the running for the AWARD. Personally I think H2 was the greatest thing since sliced bread and so I nominated it for the best drama of the year (it was shown winter 2005) Although shows with JE boys are highly popular, the other shows were also showcased.. (kiken na aniki, engine) again THESE ARE NOMINATIONS. It's up to the people whether they want to nominate more because as i said.. we're rounding up the top 3-5 for each category (as much as the need arises)
The people who wanted to nominate more are the ones who are torn between nominating HYD or NWP.. which i think is a moo point because they are already a shoo in for the best doramas.
these are nominations.. so throw in whatever and we'll round em up for the actual voting on the 21st.. (The 20th being the deadline)
