This is actually where I got my koji. It also contains instructions on how to brew it. The brew I made is from the beginner's instruction.

Yeah I tried that beer for the first time last week at a local Japanese restaurant...it's pretty good...and it's nice to see that it's actually brewed IN JAPAN.

The three major Japanese beers available in the United States, namely Asahi, Kirin, and Sapporo, are all brewed in Canda or the US....what a fuggin' joke....and I don't think it tastes the same as the beer brewed in Japan.

Hmm, I've never seen that beer before at the restaurants I eat at. And in terms of sake, I've only had it in Japan when my friend ordered it. I've never had it in the US, sad huh?

Yes, Echigo is super good! *drools*

And yes, I agree too. The "Japanese" beers in the US taste nothing like their counterparts in Japan. You can't duplicate the quality. There is just no comparison.
However I do drink Kirin and Asahi. Sweat And Heinekens. Big Grin They're still better than Bud, Miller and all those other stuff.

Not sure. But I can try! I'm still underage so I guess I'll try the old "let my beard grow so they don't card me" technique. rofl

That or I can ask my classmates to hook it up. Smile

Dude! I used to drink Yebisu too! I first tried that beer in Japan in 2002. Then when I came back to Hawaii, I used to drink it too. Then, all of a sudden Daiei stopped selling it. Even at (one of the jobs) I work at now too. What a drag. The only beer we have from Japan now is Echigo. And those other bunk "Japanese wannabe" beers. Beaten
On the another hand, I drink Suntory Malts Beer. I've never checked whether or not it was brewed in Japan though. I think it probably is although I'm not sure... Sweat

oh my, a kindred spirit, indeed! i've only tried Suntory Malts Beer in Japan. Drunk well it's nice to know somebody who agrees with me...a bit of affirmation, i suppose. the brotherhood of beer, it truly runs eternal. yeah yebisu was nice...they even used to carry it at nobu matsuhisa's which is probably one of the most expensive sushi spots in the united states. oh well, i guess it means i'll just have to return to the source to get the real thing. the last time i had yebisu i was sitting in an izakaya with a friend staring out a 40th floor window looking at the tokyo night below....a nice memory Smile well nice gettin to know ya bit over beer. yoroshiku.
