I can speak...

Visaya (Filipino dialect)
Tagalog
English
Japanese (currently trying to devote my all on mastering this one)
French (studied this in high school and college... forgotten most already Sweat )
Spanish (some basic words and expressions that are similar in Filipino)

I live in a place that has a majority of Hispanics and therefore I have been told to learn their language by so many people, because they say it's important (most Hispanics here don't know English). I've actually been sneered at and looked down on so many times for not speaking it. First of all, Spanish is not appealing to me and I dislike it even more when people try to force me to learn it. Seriously, we're in America. Everyone should learn to speak English rather than expecting others to bend down and cater to what other people lack. Grumble

I apologize for the rant. I just felt like releasing all that Sweat

I sorta understand where you're coming from. I live in an area where the majority of the population is south asian, but they speak punjabi and other languages that I can barely understand, and can't speak at all. But because of the colour of my skin they assume that I can. And when I try to tell them that I don't know what they're saying, I'm frowned upon.

Wynter, sorry to hear the same story happens to you. This is exactly why I want to move out after I graduate. Two and a half years seem too far away...
