Aoi Tokugawa Sandai is hands down the best Taiga I have seen. It had a great script by noted Taiga screenwriter James Miki and a cast--headed by Tsugawa Masahiko, Iwashita Shima, and Nishida Toshiyuki--that was nonpareil. My second best would be the 1999 Chushingura (Genroku Ryoran). That one featured two terrific performances by Nakamura Kanzaburo and Hagiwara Kenichi.

THink I need to check out Chushingura then. Ive seen the other! Great. But I loved Toshiie To Matsu, have seen it four times _________________
