I was only talking about my own. Not all marriages are bad. We are all individuals. Just choose wisely Ayachan when the time comes for you to get married. Big Grin Victory! Peace!

i cannot speak from personal experience since i have never been married before, but from what i can observe in marriages from others, is that it takes a great commitment in each other and in ourselves to make the marriage work. It is a give and take, and that is no guarantee to make it last and work. Relationships in general, they tend to be very complicated as it involves ourselves along with another person.
Marriages is what you make of it, given that you are in a healthy and good relationship, I think it can be truly a blessing. Now people have there good and bad days, but overall, if the marriage is taking the life out of you or your partner and you begin to resent them for it, it can become very unhealthy and a living nightmare over time, unless the issues and problems at hand are confronted and resolved. Communication plays a huge role, in a relationship and most definitely in a marriage. So, I really think it is all about our own attitudes in life and in our relationships with others. Life is what we make of it really....if we are in crappy situations, we have to somehow adjust from it.
ok, i think i am getting off tangent from the topic somewhat, now that i have said all that.

Marriages can be a blessing, or a living hell, choose wisely and know yourself. Thumbsup

Hi blender1184,

Nice to meet you. I have heard other people say this too. Or something to the effect that they are afraid to die. Since we are all going to die any way, I guess I never fully understood these statements. I am not criticizing you blender1184, no not at all. I am just trying to understand what is there to hate about dying when it is an inevitable fact of life. Maybe you or someone else who feels the same way could explain it to me. Either here or in a PM if you feel like it. Thanks. Smile

Hi Enna. Smile

I enjoy being alive, it's fun.

And since Ifm pretty skeptical about the existence of God and an Afterlife (read: I think itfs absolutely absurd) I really donft have much to look forward to, so this life is all Ifve got. Just because something is inevitable doesnft mean itfs not going to suck when it happens.

I plan on living forever, or die trying.

same for me ... tell me about it .. anyway i've meant that i've seen a lot of living hells ... and he is right bmwracer , i think it's lack of communication ... or more simply how we communicate .. ( sigh) the children pay the the price more than parents ... i thank you all for your answers .. if it happens for me and that i think that i've found THE one ( i love fairy tales hehe ... but hey come on let me dream ), i hope i'll be able to "get him" Fingers crossed .
Btw , BMWracer .... talking about experience mind to give me an answer about my question that is to say : should we believe in marriage as a value ? because now ppl live together without being married and have children but doesn' t plan on getting married.

i read over some of the posts, and i will provide some of my comments on the topic...
i hope that it is not too off topic,
Living together versus Married.

Just based on my opinions, and based on some christian beliefs, I can tell you what is right, and what others believe. It is true that people can live together, and co-exist and have familiies. Look at Goldie and Kurt. And still be happy, sometimes happier than married people. BUT, i honestly feel, that it is better to Marry. Not just for legistic reasons and other financial reasons, but for the sake of family. A family unit is very valuable and for generations to come. People not bound by marriage are not a union, they are just co-existing, and living together in a relationship. Marriage is something much more deeper and sacred. It should not be taken lightly and to be abused. I think that some people just treat it like it is something, "there" and "do it" for whatever reason cause they are on a "high" and at the "moment". But, since i have not reached this point of engagement or marriage, it is all speculation and observation. I do think that if two people are in a solid relationship, and are thinking of taking it to a higher level, and are "ready" for true commitment, then I see Marriage as a great opportunity and decision. I think i have said my 7 cents of comments and opinions here. This is just based on what i have learned and observed from my relationships and from other peoples marriages... Applaud
