Becky to co-host NHK program covering Winter Olympics
Saturday 23rd January, 05:48 AM JST
TOKYO
Public broadcaster NHK announced this week that omnipresent celebrity Becky, 25, will be one of the hosts for their special highlights and information program called Vancouver Olympics Best Selection, which will air from their Shibuya studios during next months 21st Winter Olympic Games.
Its the first time for NHK to use someone from outside the station in their Olympic coverage and the first time for Becky to commentate on the Olympics. She said: Im really happy to get this job and to be able to convey the inspiration that is the Olympics, an event I really love. I tend to get excited easily though so Ill have to control myself. Plus its NHK, so I want to do it properly and in an adult manner.
Becky gave figure skater Mao Asada, 19, and speed skater Miho Takagi, 15, as two examples of athletes she wanted to watch, and said: Athletes many years younger than me are going out there to compete on the world stage, which is just amazing. Theyre under all kinds of pressure, and its a battle with themselves. I want to see how they deal with it.
An NHK spokesman said Becky was chosen as she is popular with people of all ages and able to express herself well. She will be joined by veteran announcer Saburo Kudo, 56, and Naoko Suzuki, 27.
Vancouver Olympics Best Selection will run from Feb 14 to 28, airing at 6.10 p.m. and again at 7.30 p.m

I really love Becky, she's so funny. I've watched Anna-san no omame, she's hilarious.
But, in Nodame Cantabile Special Lesson, I thought that she was ok, but I would have liked to see something different from her character in Anna-san...
On her website, it says that she's focusing on her singing carreer right now, so that's why she's not in any drama lately.
