Not to have loved.

A phrase comes to mind when I wrote that down: "Better to have loved and losted than to never have loved at all."

Lately, I've just been really busy working.

And by working I mean sleeping. Smile

Hi blender1184,

Nice to meet you. I have heard other people say this too. Or something to the effect that they are afraid to die. Since we are all going to die any way, I guess I never fully understood these statements. I am not criticizing you blender1184, no not at all. I am just trying to understand what is there to hate about dying when it is an inevitable fact of life. Maybe you or someone else who feels the same way could explain it to me. Either here or in a PM if you feel like it. Thanks. Smile

As for me it doesn't really matter what I don't want to happen to me. Life is there for us to grow from our challenges. The only thing that matters is that whatever does happen to me, that I will be able to react to it as positively as possible. When I think about the late Christopher Reeves and how he lived his life after he became paralyzed from a fall off a horse, then I hope that if anything that bad ever happens to me, that I would be able to rise to my circumstance and try my best to live my life with a positive attitude. I'm not saying I could do it as well as Christopher Reeves. He was a remarkable man. I just hope that I would try my best to live life to the fullest. Life does enjoy throwing us curve balls, doesn't it? Wink Victory! Peace!

I think that life is what we make of it and it is about our own attitudes and how we adjust to the good and bad in life. I have had my fair share of disappointment this summer, and had to adjust to a lot of changes.
I think that we want to live our lives the best we can.
It is natural to fear death and even when thinking about getting old and dying is something we fear to some extent.

Thanks for your response qilver. I guess the part I don't quite understand is what exactly is there to fear about death? The unknown? Both of my parents are deceased and after they died I found myself reading quite a few books on near-death experiences. Every single person who had died and had been declared legally dead, when they came back to life, said it was the most peaceful experience they had ever had. The death part not the coming back to life part. So I can understand that you wouldn't want to get ill or old, but death itself doesn't seem like anything to fear or worry about.

On another note qilver you seem like you are doing your best to not only adjust but change your situation. Plus you always come here on a positive note. So you are a shining example of living the best life that you can. Thumbsup Victory! Peace!
