I just finished watching GTO. After watching the first episode, I thought it'd be a horrible series. Onizuka's acting is so...flamboyant and overeccentric that it makes the entire story really hard to believe.
But despite it's cheesiness, it somehow really appealed to me. Perhaps it's because of Nanako-san's beauty (gahhhhh.......), but the series was really touching to me. I admit it was kind of predictable and cheesy the way he has a perfect solution for everything (and how all of his students reverse their opinions of him after one of his tearjerker speeches), but the series was still oddly satisfying.
GTO is my #2 fav, now .
PS- it was hard to watch at first realizing that nanako-san is married to that sorimachi, but I feel better now since he's such a nice guy (I know he was acting and all, but I like to fool myself into thinking she married someone worthy)

1) One Billion Stars Falling From The Sky
2) Beautiful Life
3) Love Generation
4) Good Luck
5) Long Vacation
I know all of them is by Kimura-kun. I do watch other JDoramas but none of them are as appealing as Taku-chan's shows. Being a big fan of his work. Other doramas that tops my list will be some other Korean/Taiwanese dramas.

If I list all my favourite dramas according to different categories e.g. sweet and simple, dark dramas, love story and so on, it would be a very long list indeed....but overall, my 5 top dramas for the time being are:
(1) Hotman - great chemistry between Sorimachi and the kid (Nanami-chan) and great storyline.
(2) Wakaba No Koro - top my list for heavy dramas
(3) Summer Snow (a must)
(4) Virgin Road - sugoi and at times very touching.
(5) Love Story - sweet and nice.
GTO --- dedicated teacher
Handoku --- dedicated doctor
Gakkou No Sensei --- dedicated teacher
God Give Me One More Time --- i dunno why

1. Long Vacation - Everything was perfectly done- the cast, the theme song, the plot, EVERYTHING! And I like Takuya's hair in this the most.
2. Midday Moon - The reason I chose this is probably due to the spectacular performance by Tokiwa. Just thinking about this drama made me want to cry...
3. Long Love Letter - More cool than lovely. My Yosuke's (drroooooooll...) in it. At first thought that the pairing was weird (Tokiwa is 5 years older than Yosuke), but later found that they have quite a good chemistry.
4. Beautiful Life - Story was ok. Maybe I chose this because of the cast? BTW, TM Revolution ROCKS!
5. GTO - As much as I hate Sorimachi, I have to admit that this was a pretty good one _________________

News no Onna - the first one I watched and it was excellent, if it wasn't I would have never become a big genre fan.
Shin Hoshi no Kinka - For being a program made of rookies, they showed excellence.
Wedding Planner - Naoko rules! And Yusuke Santamaria was funnier than Teruyoshi Uchimura in Bus Stop, which is also my favorite.
End of the World - Great dark drama, though now it doesn't shock me as...
Cross of Roses - Anything with great talent that shocks me to the core and gets me sad and sick to my stomach, but leaves me wanting more, must be great.
