Great News about Sorimachi!

Sorimachi Takashi appears in last 2 episodes of "BOSS"

Sorimachi Takashi will be the guest star for the last 2 episodes of "BOSS" to be shown on 18th and 25th June 09. He will play an anti-government terrorist who kidnaps the police chief and comes face-to-face with Amami Yuki's character Oosawa Eriko and her team. Although Sorimachi and Amami are from the same agency and had worked together on the 2002 Taiga drama, "Toshie to Matsu", this is the first time their characters are facing each other directly in a drama.

Great News!

New drama starred by Sorimachi!

Quote:
Takashi Sorimachi (35) has finally landed his first starring role in a jidaigeki drama, playing the famous samurai Yagyu Jubei. The part will be in TV Tokyo's annual "Shinshun Wide Jidaigeki," which airs at the start of the new year.

Scheduled for January 2, 2010, the drama is tentatively titled "Yagyu Bukeicho." Although the "Shinshun Wide Jidaigeki" dramas started out at 12 hours long in 1979, they were shortened to 10 hours long starting in 2001. This time, the drama will be only 7 hours long.

Sorimachi has acted in jidaigeki dramas before, including a role as Oda Nobunaga in the 2002 taiga series "Toshiie to Matsu," but he has never starred in one until now. His supporting cast members include Hideki Takahashi (65) as Jubei's father, Yagyu Munenori, and Mocomichi Hayami (24) as Jubei's brother, Yagyu Munefuyu. This will be Hayami's first time in a jidaigeki role.

This could be interesting:

Takashi Sorimachi to be next partner in 'Aibou'

TV Asahi's popular drama series "Aibou" will start their 14th season and the next partner of the protagonist played by Mizutani Yutaka would be Sorimachi Takashi.

Sorimachi will be his 4th partner as the role was previously played by Terawaki Yasufumi, Oikawa Mitsuhiro, and Narimiya Hiroki. This marks the first time for the two actors to co-star with each other, but Mizutani commented that Sorimachi was one of the actors who he wished to work with someday.

"Aibou season 14" premieres starting in October (every Wednesday at 9:00 pm).
