Okay, this is what I think. And I hate to tell you, but yon is right.

We don't have Korean dramas here because there isn't a big demographic of people who strictly watch it. This is the same reason why Korean drama sites don't do the same thing with adding a Japanese drama section. It's way too broad of a spectrum to include both. I like to think of JDorama.com as a place where it caters for a certain niché (which is Japanese dramas and Japanese media in general). IMO, it's much better to have different places (in this case forums) to cater to different things. And like Ushi said (not too sure if you caught on to this), if we add Korean dramas, hell, might as well include American stuff too.

Oh, and btw, just because we don't specifically have a Korean forum here, doesn't mean it's racist. That's pretty flawed logic if you ask me. And don't expect people to agree with you when you start pointing fingers and name-calling to prove a point. Use a little diplomacy. That's all it takes.

i am sure if u add korean databases .... this site is gonna get much more hits, more korean posts and also give advantage to people who are into kdramas ere

See, it's not even about the hits. It's about catering to a certain group of enthusiasts. And besides, it's up to Genma whether or not he feels we should have a Korean part of the site. Like I said before, there ARE other Korean drama sites.

You read the title: Jdorama so it's mainly for Japanese drama. However some of those Jdorama watchers are also watching Kdrama which is why there are some threads that discussed about kdrama. Nonetheless that doesn't mean that this forum can be changed into JKdrama. Not in your wildest dream I believe many peeps would disagree with that.

FYI if you don't know about this, there is a site dedicated to JKdrama and it's Thailand based perhaps your idea can be formed there:

I love the site the way it is. Korean Dramas annoy me to no end. That is why I came here in the first place. The actor data base and drama links are great. There are already other sites to satisfy the needs of the korean following so they should go there and stop complaining here.

Shounen Terrorist has brought up an interesting topic. We already see some KDrama threads surfacing now and then, especially when there are even joint productions from Japan and Korea.

About adding KDrama into the database... No doubt KDrama has its horde of followers. No doubt that some JDrama lovers appreciate KDrama as well. But this site's speciality is in Japan and its dramas. We do not intend to expand the site into KDrama. Even if it seems far fetched, adding KDrama would also lead to arguments that Chinese/Hong Kong dramas, American sitcoms, or even Japanese AV should also be added.

If there were to be one day when I wish to start a database for KDrama, it would be a separate site. JDorama.com will be left as it is, for JDrama lovers.

p/s: What we're discussing here is subjective, and there is no right or wrong opinion. We respect your opinions, feel free to post. But please return the same respect to others' responses.

I'm just suprised that I missed out on almost 20 days of an interesting topic.

I can somewhat understand what Shounen Terrorist is saying and how he feels about the issue. It is a good idea. Even in which has been brought up before, but not as straightforward. However, I regretfully disagree.

Yes! Afterall, Japanese dramas is the inspiration in which this site was established.
(IMO)Korean dramas should be made into a different site.

I believe in broadening horizons, however I feel that a "full mesh" is not a good idea. Many problems can and may arise from doing such. If there were to be a merger of Korean and Japanese dramas in one site, (especially on a message board) there lies much opportunity for arguments and people siding with either Japanese dramas and Korean dramas ("which is better?", "and why?", .. for one). And then there is always the arguments that can arise regarding actors and actresses.
Also note that Koreans and Japanese do not exactly have the best relationship, in which history proves. So eventually, there will be people taking sides to the extreme, unfotunately.
One more thing before I close, I agree with eightysix's comment.

No one, and I also assumingly put the admin in this category, cares about how many hits this website is getting. It (IMO) gets enough hits as is. Sometimes (although not recently), we even have bandwidth problems.
Thus concluding my opinion that, if a Korean data base were to surface by the admin of Jdorama.com, it should (and almost definately) will be established as a different entity and website.
