Although the Google Maps car hasn't gone all the way up that street, I kinda had an idea where to look. Victory! Peace!

It's along the Enoshima Electric Railway Line, halfway between the Hase and Gokurakuji stations.

This should help for your next trip. Wink

The exchange rate closed today at 119 yen to the dollar. Now is the time to go if you're going.

I'm going to Japan next month and debating whether to just skip the JR Rail Pass or suck it up and get it anyway. A 14-day one is gonna set me back by 500 bucks and my head boggles just trying to figure out where I can maximise its use. The thing is, I'm going for about five weeks and 3 of those will be spent in Nagoya/Kansai, then I plan to hop off to Shimane, up Kanazawa and then Sendai, and back to Tokyo.

Has anyone visited Japan but not used the rail pass?

Sooo jealous. Sounds great : )

I've used the JR rail pass both times I was there. I would recommend it if you're planning to use the trains to travel. It's so convenient to just hop on (almost) any train without having to bother about buying tickets (great for the local trains in Tokyo). I did save a little money in the end, but not so much, so for me it's really the convenience that counts.

Have a great trip!

Thanks, antspace! I'll probably end up getting some sort of pass, it just seems mind-boggling for now because my itinerary is not very specific as yet. I agree about the convenience, although the more I read about the JR Rail Pass, the more confusing it seems because of all the restrictions.

I'm going back in April and May. Also debating whether or not I'll get a JR pass. I've done it for the past three trips, but didn't really use it much on the last one.
