I was wondering if anyone knew of any good resources for learning how to speak Japanese Sign Language(JSL). I've been watching this drama about a deaf and mute girl and I've picked up quite a few words already.
I'm currently in the US right now, but hopefully one day I'll live in Japan. Anyway, I've always been fascinated by sign language and think it'd be cool to speak to people using JSL.

Deaf and mute girls in dramas.
Yup. Hoshi no Kinka 1,2, and 3.
Also, Shiawase no Shippo.
Loveless, check it out. I recommend Hoshi no Kinka 1. Very good!
Never seen Hoshi no Kinka 3. All I know is that there ain't no Sakai Noriko in it Bunch of other characters.

The only thing that I can sign in Japanese sign language is "I love you", "Chigau", and "What are you doing?". All thanks to Sakai Noriko in Hoshi no Kinka!!

Talk about Hoshi no Kinka 1... I have never seen any show as dramatically tragic as this. Oh man....
This is a link to the book that Kazuki uses in Hoshi no Kinka 3 in order to learn sign language....:-)
I was able to pause the show and get a good shot of the cover. After that, I just searched the web. I'd figure it'd be as good a book as any to start with........

another really good drama about a hearing-impaired girl is orange days. the girtl's a violinist who lost her hearing and is mad at the world(depressed, in full-on selfish mode, but nice, nonetheless. weird, eh?). great love story!!!!!!!!!!1 _________________

And here is a song featured in "Orange Days" with sign language 'subtitles':
