Just ran across another one: Somebody goes to another person's apartment, they knock on the door, they pound on the door, they yell out the persons name, nothing. Then they decide to try the door and whaddyaknow, it opens!! I realize Japan has one of the lowest crime rates, but you mean to tell me NOBODY locks their door?!!? Rolling eyes

I'm not sure if it's been said already but teenager's parents act goofy around their kids who then in turn act embaressed (especially at dinner time).

And poor families are always incredibly nice, sweet hearted people.

there are lot of 'running scene',.. which means... the main character would run for long period for something.

2 people talked from distance, mostly (at least) 2 meter of gap between them.. and their voice are incredibly still clear to be heard one each other.

if it's love story, it's rarely only as triangle love, but.. at least.. rectangular love (needs 4 characters to bump each other) >.<

Yeah, I know. My username alludes more to the general conotation love triangles have been given; i.e. a love story where several people conflict in liking each other at the same time.

After watching Love Shuffle, I realized that in these dramas friends/acquaintances always seem to run into each other in the city...

There's a bunch of people that I know who live near me and I never ever run into them when shopping or whatever... Head Scratch

I bumped once or twice into my roommate in our neighbourhood in two years - and we were living together and we really went to the same supermarket, coffee shop, bakery, bar etc

Another cliche that is bothering me: the accidental kiss - tripping over and ending up on somebody's lips - not possible

And eeew, when somebody cuts him/herself the other party starts licking the bleeding finger. bleh bleh bleh

^ replying to the 'accidental kiss' part, i think it is not just Jdrama, but in all other dramas (TW, HK, KW etc.) it is the most overly misused drama-plot.

More than likely, I'd be forever banned from that establishment, especially since her dad is the owner/sushi chef. Beaten Sweat

That was true last time I was there. But since then it might have changed - although that's not a response to my visit! Twisted

-Characters not telling each other important information for no reason other than to advance the plot. "I don't want to worry them, probably I should keep this key info from my friend"

-Shows where they don't call the police even though it could end the entire problem in one episode. Characters try to solve the problem themselves even though the police could just come in and arrest the woman beating son of a (You may know the show I am referring to) (last friends)

these may have been posted before. I'm so annoyed by this show I had to rush and post these to let some steam off haha.

edit- also, bad guys seem to know where their victims are amongst the sprawling metropolis of Tokyo using nothing but their gut instincts. Either this is a huge coincidence or he has supernatural homing powers.

- Swearing by ones pinky
Judging by the dramas, Japanese people should be all walking around with only 4 fingers at their hands. Making a vow then breaking it 10 minutes later happens in every second drama I see.

Not uncommon if you're in the Yakuza. Beaten

Okay, Japan has one of the best mass transit systems anywhere. Lots of trains, subways, etc. And lots of taxis as well. So why is it, whenever somebody needs to get halfway across Tokyo in a hurry, , ,

they RUN?!!? Crazy

It is not so much the running that really bothers me, it is the subsequent falling that is so cliche. Doh!

(And of course to 'reinforce' the effect it always starts to rain as soon as one runs, just so that he lands in a puddle.)

Jdorama favourite climax in concluding episodes : company takeover.......and they make every staff 'die' for the company......and of course, the takeover bid usually fails.
