"TEH SHPARKZ" = the (romantic) sparks (between Sena and Minami)
"kemmistree" = chemistry (shared by Kimura and Tomoko)
Gomen! The verbal-linguistic part of my brain runs away screaming when the rest of me switches to fangirl autopilot. The Kimura Effect--it's been known to happen.

Oh it's all good. I thought I was missing something. Anyhow, my favorite song from LV is Pacific Shore Hotel by Section-S. I believe it was only available on the OST box set.

The Nihongo version you are referring to is Little by Little by Section-S. Track #3 on the OST.

It's kinda funny. I first watched this drama when I was 13 or 14 years-old and it instantly became my favorite. Nearly 15 years later ( ), I've started to watch it again and have come to appreciate a completely new layer of its charm. I think back and wonder what made me like this show so much at such a relatively young age because seriously, I knew zilch about love and relationships back then. Now that I'm a lot older and have faced my share of experiences, LV has become that much more relate-able and enjoyable in that way. I'm also getting a big kick out of understanding some of the more mature or pop-culture reference jokes that I missed out on the first time around.
LV is truly timeless! While watching, I sometimes forget it's over a decade old, though the crazy '90s fashion helps bring things back into perspective. I still find the speedy, clever dialogue endearing and the OST is the best as they come.
Character-wise, Minami (Yamaguchi Tomoko) is one sexy, awesome lady, and though a bit mopey, Sena (Kimura Takuya) is dorky, sarcastic and oh so adorable. Animal Shinji (Takenouchi Yutaka) is sizzling and dreamy, but my guilty pleasure is probably Momoko (Inamori Izumi). I absolutely love her and all the pink elephants in her head. She never fails to make me laugh.
If we're lucky, we'll get another jdrama that matches the quality and magic that LV brought. It might be a lot to ask, but I really hope it happens soon!
