THANK YOU.

On Topic: Speaking of Gyoza, I enjoyed some fried gyoza and katsu. Washed it down with some miso soup. Yum.

I dunno if I posted this, but I ended up trying an omurice at my Bro's university. It wasn't as great as I had thought, but mainly because it was obviously NOT authentic. It was just egg on top of vegetable/ham rice.

>>sigh<< The quest to try omurice continues.

I know. I was SO disappointed. I mean, it still tasted good. They DID have the actual omurice advertised, but it had been crossed off. I guess it was too hard for them to make...

It was completely lame. I still haven't tried that restaurant right outside the university. I hope they have it. Fingers crossed

Don't trip...I had omurice a few months ago at a Japanese restaurant here in L.A. and I wasn't that impressed either. Truthfully from the examples I've seen on Television or in photos I could tell the one I ate was prepared okay but not expertly.

Yea, I remember you telling me that it's rare to find it here.

I'm sure there are other Japanese restaurants here that serve it but I've yet to find the dish, aside from the place I mentioned already.

yeah sometimes they use ketchup and other versions include a demi-glace sauce...which i would prefer...since it has a richer flavor that probably goes better with the egg and the rice.

Yup... I'd think the tang of the ketchup wouldn't really complement the other ingredients very well...
